Why do so many grown ass men have closets full of them?
Sneakers: They're just glorified slippers

My cat is giving me a hard time.

I have pretty much gotten addicted to wearing high tops. The soft rubber soles make it easier for me to get my feet around the steering column in my antique car.

You never see a real man without a collar.

You never see a real dog without a collar either.

I've never understood the massive collection of sneakers - almost invariably by black American men.
Who is impressed by this? It's bizarre. Spending all that money on $10 worth of plastic shoes.

They are all ugly. But as cloth and plastic shoes go they are comfortable for running around. One day civilization will look back if it survives the pandemic and wonder why such ugliness was so obsessed upon in the late 20th century.

I miss the nice simple white high-tops from the 80s. They are all so complicated looking now.
I like Kids and Vans for summer with shorts, but other than that I have athletic shoes for exercise, but I don't wear sneakers at any other time.
I have a Nordic Track Ski machine, and I have found that a rubber soled pair of espadrilles are the best shoes to wear while using that - strange, but true.

OP here.
i'm just being greedy for shoe donations.
I admit it.
Just like the ER admitted me.

i'm a vegetarian and don't wear leather products, including shoes. Ergo, I wear mostly sneakers. I don't wear the athletic kind though. SeaVees makes the best and most comfortable sneaker I've worn. And, even though they might be on the high end of casual sneaker prices, 80 dollars or so is nothing to spend on something that is comfortable and well-made.
