To R23, the reason pandering to the 1% is such a big money maker is because tax laws let them keep SO much of their income. They have unlimited resources to burn on even the most ridiculous thing, and they'll pay whatever the price being charged because cost is meaningless to them. They can afford ANYTHING. If you impose a 75% tax on earnings over $10 or $20 million dollars, the rich can continue to get rich enough, while the money being collected can be used for everyone else.

I have a student who may have the virus. He says that they are making him test for every other illness on earth before they will test him for COVID-19.
