What did you think of Michael Jackson's Invincible album when it was first released. I thought it was a pile of dog shit and I was surprised that's what we got after 6 years of waiting.

The problem with Michael's albums post-Thriller, even Bad is that they are all so overproduced. He was so obsessed with making each album seem bigger than the previous that he forgot to actually make the music fun.

I was soooo over him by the time that came out. I actually went and listened to it after he died, and I was very surprised how much I liked it. It was certainly more contemporary sounding than I expected. My favorites from the record were: Break of Dawn, Butterflies and You Rock My World.
Then I saw the You Rock My World video and while the choreography was amazing, he literally had NO NOSE. And I recoiled from my little MJ postmortem journey shortly thereafter.
Then of course I had to stop listening to him or even thinking about him altogether ,because of all the unpleasantness. Now I would rather bungee jump off of a bridge without a bungee than listen to any MJ music.

I can't understand it when some fans say that Invincible is their favorite MJ's album. To each his own.
