I've watched just about everything, are there any suggestions for good movies or shows that aren't mainstream?
Movie or Streaming Recommendations

If you liked PARASITE, see that filmmakers' apocalyptic SNOWPIERCER with American hottie Scott Evans to compliment our apocalyptic times.
TRAIN TO BUSAN is similar if you like zombie flicks. See UNCUT GEMS or MIDSOMMAR if you haven't already -- some of the best films last year.
Can you give me a hint of what genre you're in the mood for?
Comedy, drama, horror, sci-fi, sexy, crime/noir, action-adventure? Fantasy?

Scott Evans wishes he could land a role like that! It's the hot brother that is in it.

[italic]The History of Time Travel [/italic]on Netflix. It's presented as a documentary about the inventor of a time travel device, but what happens when you go back in time? Changes! Very enjoyable.

Snowpiercer sounds GOOD! Going to watch it now :)

We started watching The Sinner a few nights ago. First season is spellbinding.

Thanks R1! (and everyone).
I did enjoy Parasite, so those are good suggestions. I like foreign and independent films. Historical dramas, documentaries. Almodovar is probably my favorite director .

I like THE SINNER. I also liked FARGO, esp the season with Jean Smart.

Writer/Director duo Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead's first film, "Resolution" followed by their third film "The Endless". The two films are related to each other, but definitely watch "Resolution" first before seeing "The Endless".

I've seen all the Parasite director's movies except Snowpiercer and Okja. He's great, but generally speaking Korean movies are really good. I also recommend Gomorrah, the Italian series. I don't know why it's not popular in the US. At the risk of hyperbole, it's the best series I've ever seen.

"I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore" is a fun dark comedy/thriller. It's also a Netflix original.

Parasite is for mindless sheep.

My God, why would anybody tell anyone to watch Snowpiercer for the love of God?! It is one of the worst movies ever. Are you trying to push someone over the brink into full suicidal tendencies?

I'd say Twin Peaks: The Return. No, you don't have to catch up on the first ran ABC episodes, Fire Walk with Me is mostly optional. Just make sure the volume is high enough to hear, well, everything (esp the last____ - No spoilers here).

I just watched Tiger King on Netflix yesterday. All of the people profiled in it were the scum of the earth. I've never seen such a group of grifters, thieves, and drug addicts. Joe Exotic is such a character. A loud mouthed gay guy who has a penchant for marrying straight guys. He gives them drugs. There isn't enough therapy in the world to help this group of freaks.
I highly recommend.

Snowpiercer was the dumbest fucking movie ever. I’m so sorry I ever listened to some loser on here and actually watched 40 minutes of that piece of shit.

Tiger King isn't something I'm interested in watching and I don't have Netflix, but in general is it a positive or disparaging portrayal of gay life?

The Hollywood BI thread makes me want to watch "Going Down In La La Land".

Mainstream recommendation: Molly's Room on Netflix
Jessica Chastain was well cast as a highly ranked competitive athlete who quits sports and builds a business running poker games. Idris Elba plays her lawyer after she is indicted in a RICO case with over 100 other people. The story is told in flashbacks as he's trying to figure out his client and why she isn't acting in what he sees as her own best interest. Good casting in many of the small parts. I particularly liked Chris O'Dowd as a not especially good player who falls in love with her. I didn't really buy Kevin Costner as a Jewish psychologist/professor; however, long ago I worked in a psychiatry clinic in a teaching hospital. I worked with people like Bloom's father, so I was probably judging Costner too harshly.

Dr. Foster (Netflix) is a CRAZY show—about an F’ed up British couple and the fallout from cheating but with crazy plot twists and revenge that gets out of control on both sides.
Unorthodox on Netflix was really good—short series/drama, and pretty compelling.
Pen15 is an amazing comedy series on Hulu. This is legit the only show I’ve laughed out loud at almost every episode.
Atypical is a decent series on Netflix about a family with a teenage boy on the Autism Spectrum—comedy/drama series.

If you have Apple TV, watch The Morning Show. I didn't think I would like it but it got pretty addicting. Jennifer Aniston is quite good in this and never thought I'd hate Steve Carrell so much.
