Are you enjoying watching people get cabin fever?

I’ve always been an introvert and don’t really give a damn if I see a human for weeks. This is like heaven to me.

by Anonymousreply 34March 28, 2020 11:16 AM

I wouldn't say "enjoying," but I never realized what a skill I had being able to stay inside.

by Anonymousreply 1March 21, 2020 4:48 PM

At some level, it's amazing to me how many people cannot entertain themselves by reading books., because that's all I (and my family members, and most of my friends) ever want to do. But I do realize not everyone is like that.

by Anonymousreply 2March 21, 2020 4:51 PM

I agree. I even hate bumping into people on a dog walk, so, as Barbara put it, this is working out very well for me.

That said, even I’m getting a little stir crazy

by Anonymousreply 3March 21, 2020 4:55 PM

I live alone, like OP can go days without interacting with another human being. I happily occupy myself as always and don't notice or care about the government-mandated house arrest. The best part is the absence of cars and humanity. Perfect peace!

by Anonymousreply 4March 21, 2020 4:58 PM

I LOVE being inside all by myself and my cats. Plenty to read and watch.

by Anonymousreply 5March 21, 2020 4:59 PM

I'm in heaven. I hope this becomes a trend.

by Anonymousreply 6March 21, 2020 5:03 PM

I like being inside away from people. As long as I can WFH and have food, electricity, internet - I am happy. However, I do need fresh air. That is the only thing that bothers me. Not being around other people is fine.

by Anonymousreply 7March 21, 2020 5:07 PM

[quote]I do need fresh air.

Open a fucking window.

by Anonymousreply 8March 21, 2020 5:19 PM

R8 - No duh, but not the same as going outside.

by Anonymousreply 9March 21, 2020 5:22 PM

People can go on walks in the NY parks as long as they maintain social distancing. That's what my friends there are doing.

by Anonymousreply 10March 21, 2020 6:11 PM

I love all of this. I guess I have been practicing social distancing for a long time. Its funny seeing all the amateurs freaking out about being inside. It is also fun to see all the whores crying that they cant go out and have orgies. Hahah!

by Anonymousreply 11March 21, 2020 6:16 PM

Not enjoying any of this.

by Anonymousreply 12March 26, 2020 4:48 PM

I thought this generation loves staying indoors, playing videogames or staring at their smartphones.

by Anonymousreply 13March 26, 2020 4:57 PM

Same here, OP. INFP.

by Anonymousreply 14March 26, 2020 4:58 PM

I watched a bunch of Prime Suspect shows - boy did the writing go downhill with that show. It’s really noticeable when you binge watch. And why was she always moving to different precincts? Manchester? Really?

I tried to watch Great British Bake-off on Netflix but can’t figure out how to watch a whole season. The seasons are not listed the way other shows are. You know — Season 1 Episode 1.....episode 2 ...episode 3 etc, .......then Season 2, Episode 1. Episode 2, etc.

It’s just a lot o& haphazard shows. One “season” was just the final episode. It’s really a mess.

I can't go out and have orgies!!!!!!

I binged Itaewon Class on Netlfix. It's great.

by Anonymousreply 17March 26, 2020 5:17 PM

No.

I miss socializing with friends, going out to dinner, teaching students and playing tennis. I love my hubby and my dog, but this is getting old. I like people, which seems to be a rarity around here.

by Anonymousreply 18March 26, 2020 5:20 PM

I don't get cabin fever.

by Anonymousreply 19March 26, 2020 5:31 PM

Yes and no. I am an introvert so I'm not suffering from cabin fever. The downside is my workplace is ramping up virtual activities to boost employee morale, to which we are "encouraged" to participate. I appreciate their efforts, but I don't want to be around my teammates any more than necessary. In fact, it amps up my anxiety. There's enough to worry about without being pressured to "participate" and "express gratitude" that Janet shared her frickin' bread recipe.

by Anonymousreply 20March 26, 2020 5:34 PM

We shut-in introverts are the prophets of a new era! Too bad we can't be bothered to preach our wisdom, especially to extroverts, who won't listen anyway.

by Anonymousreply 21March 26, 2020 5:36 PM

I haven't really had the chance. I'm trying to look after a sick parent and having to shop regularly and now am sick too. It's just been exhausting for the most part.

by Anonymousreply 22March 26, 2020 5:36 PM

I refuse to watch “news.”

I get emails from Cuomo, NYS DoH & my local Patch. I’m fine.

by Anonymousreply 23March 26, 2020 5:54 PM

I hate to admit that I'm sort of loving it, too. It feels like people who are more introverted and homebodies are finally getting their day in the sun (not literally, obviously). People always thought of us as weird and anti-social, but now we're some of the only ones staying sane.

Even when I was a kid, I'd rather be inside with a book or a movie or playing with my action figures than joining a sports team or going to a party. I feel like my entire life has prepared me for this.

by Anonymousreply 24March 26, 2020 6:02 PM

I don't seek out pleasure in the misery of others, but I do admit people losing their shit is pretty funny.

by Anonymousreply 25March 26, 2020 6:20 PM

I just found my crowd.

by Anonymousreply 26March 26, 2020 6:35 PM

Absolutely nothing changed for me

by Anonymousreply 27March 28, 2020 9:42 AM

I am no longer considered a free-lance loser who cant get a job. Now I am a smart business person and patriot.

by Anonymousreply 28March 28, 2020 10:04 AM

I'm not officially in quarantine as I have no symptoms. I do however practice self isolation. That still doesn't mean I can't leave my house if I just want to go for a walk by myself. It's perfectly legal and healthy. People who aren't in quarantine should try to get out if they can. Trust me, it helps.

^ What's the difference between self isolation and quarantine?

by Anonymousreply 31March 28, 2020 10:49 AM

Quarantine mean you literally can't leave you house. You are under lock and key or even with a guard or a fine if you get caught leaving. They actually did that in parts of China. No grocery shopping, walking your dog, no fresh air, no nothing.

by Anonymousreply 32March 28, 2020 11:03 AM

So people in China couldn't open their windows?

by Anonymousreply 33March 28, 2020 11:15 AM

R33 people in China couldn’t do jack shit, never mind rolling up to buy takeout. This is why we are experiencing it far worse.
