Yup, I can tell you as someone who grew up in a Christian home (Baptist) and was put through Christian Private School that much of what we are seeing is in the Final Book of the Bible. But this is just the beginning, it gets much worse.

Revelation gets into land on fire with rain never happening, a plague that kills many, locusts, most of the world ends up in poverty and the economy falls, with millions dying from hunger. Crime is on the rise and becomes the normal...

All of that is in that Book, and as someone who really doesn't pay mind to it at all, it was installed in me from young so it does scare me when I see these things happening.

The reason bush fires and locust invasions are getting worse is GLOBAL WARMING. The dryer the conditions, the larger the locust swarms in North and East Africa. Rain stops their migration. Same for bush fires. And viruses have been crossing species since the beginning of time. Our movement across the globe is the only difference now. The Bible can be applied to basically anything. Rumors of WAR, must be God. Locusts affecting crops, must be God. A place flooded, must be God. Gangs of rapists, must be God. Fires transfixing your attention, must be God. Nations clashing, must be God. Loud SOUNDS, must be...God? Seriously?

The ultimate irony is that this obsession with reading Revelations as literal prophecy is a very modern development - notions of a rapture and the Anti-Christ as a literal being are all late eighteenth and early 19th century evangelical innovations that would be incomprehensible to earlier generations of christians. Those awful Left Behind books sold millions of copies from the late 70s right through today and the now Trump loving evangelicals got their rocks off to reading about how they were going to be teleported to glory while the rest of us (especially the Jews) were slowly massacred in page after page of cum stained torture porn. Evangelicals have always been nasty hypocrites way before Trump....
