I just always assumed they were both bi, and they split up because of a lovers' spat.
Were Simon and Garfunkel lovers?

No. Never.

Eww.

I would find that difficult to believe.

They had a whole song about this very allegation.
LIE LIE LIE!
LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE
LIE LIE LIE!

Even if it were true... they can keep it.

Although "The Only Living Boy in New York" was kind of a romantic farewell to Garfunkel.

Hey, let your honesty shine, shine, shine, now like it shines on me...

Art is gay; Paul likes the Poussay

Paul Simon is Jewish, not gay

Saw an early film clip of Paul inviting his twin brother onstage to sing with him. Almost identical, and the only time of his life when he was hot.

I just watched the movie ‘The Only Living Boy in New York’ on Amazon and it was really good. Of course they used the song in it.

My father thought they were, for some reason.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 14, 2020 2:25 AM |
Why not? Didn't the Beatles fuck each other?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 14, 2020 2:30 AM |
I have definitely heard gossip that Paul slept with men. No idea about Art.

BWWWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The most consistent rumors back in the day were that Paul was straight and Art was bi.

Art seems like he was the typical high school chorus queen.

If you think of all of the money the two could've made by reuniting and touring together
(beyond the handful of appearances they did in the late 1970s and in 1980, where they refused to speak or even make eye contact with each other)
it would take some really powerful feelings to prevent them from cashing in on that - especially as their respective solo careers faltered
I think it's likely there were romantic feelings between them - maybe not a full-blown sexual relationship - but some powerful romantic feelings for the breech between the two of them to last all these years

Given the magnitude of their falling out, they were definitely in love with one another. I assume one of the two did not wish to commit to and / or have sex with the other.
