Jeopardy! - Part 20
by Anonymous | reply 600 | February 4, 2021 11:59 PM |
Did Wednesday's winner, win again on Thursday?
The one who beat Kris?
I missed Thursday's show.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 20, 2020 4:37 PM |
FYI, Part 19 is paywalled.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 20, 2020 4:37 PM |
Woohoo Nick Klotz from Wisconsin!
Damn, he's hot. I'm so happy he won!
Those two bitches were BITTER at the end. They really hated that he won.
Oh, well. Too bad!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 25, 2020 2:58 AM |
I love the new guy Adam!
He's cute and funny.
Actually, all three players yesterday were really good.
Nick was cute, but so was Adam. It was so hard to choose between them.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 26, 2020 7:49 PM |
Did Adam win again today?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 26, 2020 10:43 PM |
That show was insane!
Khalilah is a fucking maniac. Omg, she was the most aggressive player I've ever seen.
She's smart, but she's totally mental.
The other two players were just ... DUDS. Including yesterday's champ.
My gosh, that was one of the saddest games I've ever seen (in terms of smarts), but it was still exciting!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 28, 2020 2:58 AM |
Good FJ. And two cutie pies in the game!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 31, 2020 11:58 PM |
Glad Khaliyah lost. I really didn't like her style of play.
Happy for the new guy, especially because he's cute!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 1, 2020 12:06 AM |
JR in the middle spot tonight is really damn cute.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 1, 2020 2:04 AM |
I hope that Kyle and JR went back to the hotel after the show, and had hot sex.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 1, 2020 2:43 AM |
R12, they did, with me. I was quite satisfied.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 1, 2020 2:47 AM |
Kyle reminded me a lot of Mayor Pete.
Final was easy.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 1, 2020 2:58 AM |
Oy, J.R.--wanted to see him play again... but Leanne was amazing and earned her victory. Her voice reminded me of Lilith's on "Cheers". Poor Kyle--good contestant, lousy game--he looked crushed.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 1, 2020 3:07 AM |
Damn that Leeanne!
She ruined everything!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 1, 2020 3:07 AM |
I see poor Glenn is delivering clues again. First her tag sale, now game shows. I can't imagine what she'll do next for a pay check. A sequel to "Maxie"?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 1, 2020 7:54 AM |
Yay Hemant! I wanted him to win.
Haha Leanne. Good riddance. Sucks that she had to steal the win from Kyle and JR yesterday. Bitch!
Kami is weird.

Not surprising, but Jeopardy! suspended production —
3/20/20
Jeopardy! has suspended production until further notice.
The episodes that are currently airing were taped several weeks ago – well before concerns about the coronavirus. Any interactions between contestants, Alex or the studio audience took place when such actions were considered safe.
We take the well-being of our staff, crew, contestants, audience guests and host very seriously, and will not resume taping until it is completely safe.
Similarly, all previously scheduled contestant searches have been postponed. We will not resume contestant tryouts until it is safe to do so. However, please note that if you have not taken the Jeopardy! Anytime Test online, you may now do so whenever it is convenient for you from your home computer or mobile device.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 3, 2020 1:11 AM |
Felicity has a boyfriend?
(Posting here since the Jeopardy 19 thread is paywalled)
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 3, 2020 1:21 AM |
Another update —
3/24/20
To All Current (and Future!) Contestants:
If you are currently in the Jeopardy! contestant pool, please know that the show has suspended production until the current health crisis has passed. However, the contestant team is taking this interruption into consideration, and the standard 18-month window of eligibility will be extended accordingly. At minimum, all current applicants will have their active status extended equivalent to the length of this hiatus.
If your shows have already been taped and you are anticipating air dates, there is a chance that some episodes may be rescheduled. In the event of a date change, the contestant team will contact you individually with detailed information as it becomes available and/or necessary.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 3, 2020 1:24 AM |
Hemant choked. Good sport, though.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 3, 2020 3:18 AM |
Surprise ending. Hearst??
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 4, 2020 3:14 AM |
I call dibs on Marshall. He’s not the brightest bulb on the tree, but he’s adorable and he knows how to bend over.
Emma is a cute girl but she’s in desperate need of a makeover.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 6, 2020 11:59 PM |
No! I wanted dibs on him but was locked out of posting earlier! He is cute as hell. Didn't think there was a chance for him to win.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 7, 2020 1:27 AM |
My gaydar isn't great, but Marshall... yeah.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 7, 2020 2:58 AM |
Marshall.... did you catch the ADHD? He could keep the button and the cord down, get lifting, twisting it... Adderall boy.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 7, 2020 3:05 AM |
Marshall is very cute!
I'm so happy he won.
I honestly thought that Emma was going to leave him in the dust, but he managed to pull off a win. Good for him!
Btw, are we sure that Marshall isn't Datalounge favorite "Joel?"
He looks like he could play the part... lol.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 7, 2020 10:08 AM |
R29, we’ll need to see Marshall in a Speedo, or less, to be sure.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 7, 2020 11:26 AM |
R30 A scantily clad photo would be nice.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 7, 2020 3:23 PM |
He’s cute — and from all appearances, gay. I’m glad that he made it to the semifinals, but he’s inconsistent. He knew a lot about some topics, but he made some odd, and incorrect guesses that pulled down his score. I think he just needs to calm down a bit.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 7, 2020 4:06 PM |
R32, Marshall thought canine was spelled with a "k".
Don't see why some of you pegged him as gay. I don't get even a hint from him.
Marshall is a sophomore, so he's probably 20?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 7, 2020 4:21 PM |
Yes, R33, he’s a sophomore. I scrolled through his limited IG posts. I definitely get a gay geeky vibe from him. Catholic high school, quiz teams, likes Mayor Pete. 🤷♂️ I’d say it’s certainly likely.

R38 Marshall would make a terrific Bottom.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 7, 2020 5:59 PM |
Glad to have found thread. Didn't know the previous one had been paywalled. In the future, please post a link to the new thread in the old thread. That always helps.
I didn't get gay vibes off Marshall. I got young, nervous and excited vibes off him.
Now, Felicity from last week. She had a boyfriend?!? That caught me off guard. She looked classic lesbian.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 7, 2020 6:17 PM |
We'll know for sure if he's Joel if does really well in the category "Lhasa Apsos".
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 7, 2020 6:18 PM |
I don’t think Comeaux is a homo.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 7, 2020 7:30 PM |
People who are paywalled can’t put a link in the old thread and no one else knows about the new one.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 7, 2020 7:32 PM |
In the future, please post a link to the new thread in the old thread. That always helps.
Same thought as R43.
Usually the paywall comes up out of nowhere, it's impossible to link a new thread, because people are already locked out.
That's actually why a new thread has to be created. Because we can't post in the old thread.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 7, 2020 8:17 PM |
^you CAN post, you’re just too cheap.

My local station is broadcasting a repeat program. Why is that?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 7, 2020 11:29 PM |
Perhaps the solution is to go ahead the create Part 21 NOW. Publicize that thread in this thread and have everyone bookmark it. Then, leave it alone until it's needed. Continue using this thread until it is paywalled.
That way, those of us who are paying members will see it pop up in our thread watcher when people start using it thus signalling that the current one is Murieled.

by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 8, 2020 2:29 AM |
Yalie is probably gay.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 8, 2020 2:29 AM |
Yalie is the best player I've seen in a while.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 8, 2020 3:06 AM |
Relieved to see that the Yale guy beat the two trash Florida girls.
Is this tournament new? It seems like it’s a repeat.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 8, 2020 3:49 AM |
Nathaniel is definitely gay.
I was wondering the same thing, R51.
Is this a new tournament, or a re-run from 2019?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 8, 2020 6:15 AM |
Seems to be new. There was a question about the movie Knives Out, which came out in Nov. 2019.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 8, 2020 10:22 AM |
Or we could just pay up.
I'm paid up. Have been for a long time.
But others choose not to pay the $1.50 a month for various reasons. Not all of those reasons make sense to me, but the point is, these threads are more enjoyable with more people participating.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 8, 2020 10:26 AM |
From the New York Post . . .
“Jeopardy!” fans were bowled over on Tuesday night when a clue on the board seemed to reference the coronavirus pandemic.
But the April 7 episode — in which three university students were competing as the storied ABC game show’s two-week-long College Championship — was filmed in early February.
Nathaniel Miller, a sophomore at Yale, selected an $800 clue during Double Jeopardy from the category “Health & Medicine".
Beloved host Alex Trebek, who is battling pancreatic cancer, read out the prompt: “From a Greek word for people, it describes a disease that affects many people at one time.”
Miller buzzed in with the correct answer, “What is a pandemic?”
The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic on March 11.
It didn’t take long for fans of the show to exclaim over the coincidence on social media.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 8, 2020 12:21 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 8, 2020 5:41 PM |
Did Marshall win again?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 9, 2020 2:28 AM |
R58, he wasn’t playing today but there was another cute gay named Alistair, who lost.
FJ was insanely easy, but only one got it correct.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 9, 2020 2:29 AM |
Londyn kicked ass today! Good for her.
Sophomores have won three days in a row so far.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 9, 2020 2:58 AM |
I guessed Dickinson for FJ like Alistair, then felt really dumb. Londyn was a terrific player.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 9, 2020 5:52 AM |
Truman called Lee “Nelle” in Capote and Infamous.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 9, 2020 6:08 AM |
What exactly did Londyn say she wanted to do for a career, when Alex somewhat scolded her for it?
I totally missed her interview, but caught the end part, when he was raising his eyebrow at her.
She was doing some dancing movement, and if I heard correctly (from far away) she said she wanted to meet a rich guy.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 9, 2020 10:04 AM |
She said her major was Arabic and she might marry a rich Sheikh.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 9, 2020 2:29 PM |
She seemed like a total airhead, but was an ace player.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | April 9, 2020 3:32 PM |
No wonder she was trying to belly dance, R64.
Odd that her other career choice was to become a lawyer.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | April 9, 2020 7:27 PM |
Joe seems like he wouldn't mind a good pounding. Just don't tell anybody.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | April 9, 2020 8:41 PM |
I loved Beni’s hair. I’m sure I will be alone on that.
And I loved super gay Joe with his pressed white shirt under his sweatshirt and his love of musicals.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 9, 2020 11:59 PM |
Joe needs wardrobe guidance. Send him to me.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 10, 2020 12:06 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 70 | April 10, 2020 12:23 AM |
Joe is adorable.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 10, 2020 1:01 AM |
Great game today!
Musical queen Joe was very handsome. I love clean cut guys like him.
I loved Beni’s hair. I’m sure I will be alone on that.
At first I thought he was weird looking, but Beni is so adorable!
He had such a sweet personality, and he's a very smart kid.
Beni would have won, if it wasn't for those horrible Daily Doubles.
I hope he makes it to the Semi-Finals.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 10, 2020 2:59 AM |
I got the impression that Beni is a mixed-race person, but really couldn't figure out which races is that might be? Final was a giveaway. Was no one else shocked that none of them could find Key West on a map???
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 10, 2020 3:07 AM |
Had anyone else heard of Hendrix College?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 10, 2020 3:36 PM |
R75 Ha... I was fascinated and did some research. Very small Liberal Arts college connected to the United Methodist Church (but traced to the Southern Methodist... the southerners who wouldn't let go of slavery), 1200 students. Surprisingly rated 98th Liberal Arts college in American by US News Reports.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 10, 2020 3:40 PM |
I guess they're going to have a gay twink on every episode of the college tournament?
Neat.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | April 10, 2020 8:51 PM |
Even before the college twinks, there was an unusually long stretch of shows with hot and possibly gay men. Well done, Jeopardy producers!

Both of them had gay voice to me - kind of funny with the Liberty University gal in the middle like that!
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 11, 2020 3:00 AM |
I think it may be the first ever all-gay semi-final.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | April 11, 2020 3:13 AM |
R73 Beni was NOT adorable in any way. He looked like Malachi from Children of the Corn but with a jew-fro.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 11, 2020 3:14 AM |
I hate that bitch Natalie from the right wing Christian, Liberty University. The old people at the nursing home were REALLY her friends! You know she was proselytizing to the nearly dead trying to "save" them.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | April 11, 2020 3:41 AM |
Glad she lost as well.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | April 11, 2020 4:15 AM |

Go, Marshall!

by Anonymous | reply 93 | April 12, 2020 2:53 AM |
Quid Pro Quo was so obvious. It was the ONLY possible answer if you've been keeping up with the news in even the slightest way. I guess these college kids are to involved in their own world to stay abreast of national news.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | April 12, 2020 3:18 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 99 | April 13, 2020 1:01 AM |
What is there not to get, R99? Art Fleming was a long time host for Jeopardy! back at the beginning, before Alex. Art Flaming is a gay-inspired name that is a clever play on the name of the prior host. It isn't rocket science...although, apparently, it may be beyond your tenuous grasp on word play.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | April 13, 2020 4:56 AM |
Maybe that's not what R99 is not getting. Maybe it's the fact that "Art Flaming has been posting here for time" and NOW somebody notices the joke after all this time.
Whatever. Anyway, Tyler & Beni the quirky hair guy are competing on today's show.
But get ready for tomorrow when Joe the music queen goes up against Nabir.

He sounded like a total hick, calling a violin a "fiddle."
by Anonymous | reply 141 | April 15, 2020 6:11 PM |
R141, that’s a little harsh. I found that charming. Violins are called fiddles in the bluegrass context.

Okay, sorry R142.
I laughed because I did find it funny that such a young guy would call a violin a fiddle.
However, it was also charming and cute at the same time.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO....Marshall! That FJ was very hard. In this situation, you were better off going in in third place. He is beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | April 15, 2020 10:30 PM |
Marshall will always have a place in my boudoir. Doesn’t he look just like young Dick Grayson? Gorgeous.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | April 15, 2020 11:58 PM |
Wow, that was a surprise. I was sure it was going to be between Nathaniel and Marshall. Maybe it was when Nathaniel reached out and touched Marshall that it ended for both of them.

Deeply disappointing that Marshall is a huge fan of Hamilton and especially Lin Manuel Miranda.

I'm so bummed about this Jeopardy final.
I don't like any of the final three contestants, and probably won't watch.
I really don't care who wins.
Marshall should have been in that final.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | April 16, 2020 2:58 AM |
The producers gave that shitty question on purpose, just to fuck up the two guys in the lead.
Fucking twats.
That girl doesn't deserve to be in the final.

Marshall looked so good tonight, even while fidgeting. I thought Nathaniel would win, but FJ was so hard. I had no idea. I'm betting on Nibir now.

That FJ was ridiculous.

I can read about it here.....and be more entertained.

I won't be watching.
No Marshall, no Joe, no deal.
I've lost all interest.
Btw, what's coming up next week? Has Jeopardy! run out of original programming?

Am I the only one who heard Andrew answer "Shiner" for one of the questions instead of the correct answer "Shriner"?
I played it back to see if that's what I heard, and I was correct.
I thought for sure when they returned from the commercial break, Alex was going to say the judges heard him misstate the answer and deduct his score, but he got away with it.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | April 21, 2020 12:43 AM |

Andrew won by default. I don't see him having a third game.

middle guy Michael was a handsome piece.
by Anonymous | reply 215 | April 23, 2020 12:37 AM |
I wanted Michael to win!
However, seeing as how Final Jeopardy was the easiest one EVER, it's clear that the show wanted the Canadian frau to win.
The clue was foreign country elections, and it stated that in 2014 there was a "record turnout" of 500 million people, in this "democratic country."
There were only two possibilities for that, since only China and India have over 500 million people.
Duh, I wonder which one it could be?
Fucking WORST Final Jeopardy question ever!
by Anonymous | reply 216 | April 23, 2020 3:10 AM |
Gary is smart, but guessed Russia.

by Anonymous | reply 218 | April 23, 2020 10:13 AM |
Was it my imagination or did Michael look a little uncomfortable shaking Gary's hand at the end of the game? (He was looking down and wasn't even looking at him)
by Anonymous | reply 219 | April 23, 2020 12:42 PM |
The hand shaking between players after the game is a fairly recent ritual. In the past, contestants barely acknowledged each other during the closing credits.
by Anonymous | reply 220 | April 23, 2020 2:10 PM |
My understanding is that the show tells contestants NOT to shake hands after the match.
In years past, contestants were good about following that edict, but in the past year or so, they've been ignoring it more often.
Frankly, it just looks better when the contestants shake hands. Signals "good game" and "no hard feelings." When they don't shake hands, it always seems to signal that there's something wrong, some bad feelings between contestants, someone is a sore loser or a stuck up winner.
Now in a coronavirus world, shaking hands will be verboten.
by Anonymous | reply 221 | April 23, 2020 2:40 PM |
Kanadian Karen is the winner.....you know after the game, she asked to speak to the manager.

The last day to watch a new episode of “Jeopardy!” is May 1, according to an announcement on Twitter.

Starting May 4th, they're going to re-air the Greatest of all Time tournament and also Ken Jennings first and last episode as a regular contestant. I wish they would re-air his entire 70 game run since I didn't see it the first time around.

Alex's 80th birthday will be in July of this year. The fact that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer early 2019 and he is still alive and functioning today is a minor miracle. His treatments did make a difference for the time being. I hope he gets to celebrate his 80th birthday.

I had the same reaction to Final that Sarah did. I knew it was either Grant or McClellan but went with Grant because he was the more famous of the two. In hindsight, I should have picked McClellan simply because of the 1862 date. Grant didn't assume command of the Union army until 1864.
This is one of the shows they filmed without a studio audience. The one shot of the audience was a tight shot of Sarah's daughter surrounded presumably by a few friends/family of the contestants and/or contestants for later in the week.

It was a little jarring to hear Alex mention "the Battle of" the O.K. Corral instead of "the Gunfight at. . ." - especially since the actual event lasted only about 30 seconds.

The publicity said they were filming without a studio audience beginning the week of March 9. And then the had to shutdown production because of the coronavirus lockdown starting the week of March 16.
Given that next week they are repeating the Greatest of All Time tournament with Brad, Ken and James that aired on ABC in January, that suggests they are out of new episodes. I mean, repeat episodes during May sweeps? Clearly out of new episodes.
The point is, the episodes we're seeing this week seem to be the ones that were filmed that week of March 9 which was supposed to be without an audience.
I was startled by that audience shot during Thursday's show as well. They had so very clearly been avoiding an audience shot on Monday and Wednesday's shows (the show has at least one audience shot every episode, usually two or three shots). And that tight audience shot on Tuesday's show was just of 6-8 people (likely family/friends of contestants).
My guess is either that Thursday's audience shot was a quick shot of a previous show's audience. Or they got all the crew and contestants to sit in those seats specifically for that shot. (Things like that are known to happen).
Or perhaps they really did pull in an audience despite saying they'd tape without one. Maybe they found the game didn't feel right without an audience so after the lunch break, they rounded up people to sit there. Plenty of people on the Sony lot they could have grabbed to sit in the audience.
by Anonymous | reply 261 | May 1, 2020 7:39 PM |
Anyone else notice that Monday's 2004 repeat of Ken Jennings first show seemed to be sped up slightly. Everyone's voices seemed slgihtly off, especially Alex.
I presume this speeding up was because the 2004 ran slightly longer than a 2020 show would. Thus, they sped it up slightly to fit the full episode in without cutting anything.
by Anonymous | reply 262 | May 5, 2020 2:31 PM |

Didn’t watch since I did not want to see smug Jennings again.

I thought that exact thing. It was kind of…jarring.
by Anonymous | reply 265 | May 5, 2020 5:59 PM |
I think it might have been sped up because there were less commercials per half hour back when Ken Jennings first started as opposed to now.
So they had to move things along to fit in the whole episode.
A little faster and it would've sounded like a Chip 'n' Dale cartoon.

They don't seem to have co-champions any more. A year or so ago, two contestants tied and one was somehow eliminated by some kind of screwy point system or something. Does anyone remember the details of that?
by Anonymous | reply 269 | May 19, 2020 1:06 PM |
When they had that tie game a year or so ago, they did a quick showdown question to determine the winner. Whoever buzzed in first with the correct answer won.
It seemed awkward and unfair.
by Anonymous | reply 270 | May 19, 2020 1:32 PM |
Final was easy because of the wording. "... is Article 6 of these."
If the answer was the Constitution, the phrasing would have been "Article 6 of this."
Since it said "these" it was obvious it was the Articles of Confederation.
Only other possible answer was the Bill of Rights, which doesn't have Articles, it has Amendments.

How could the new champ, Morgan, not be gay?
by Anonymous | reply 286 | May 23, 2020 1:10 AM |
Morgan and Alex were bumping elbows during the closing credits rather than shaking hands.
by Anonymous | reply 287 | May 23, 2020 2:42 AM |
R287 So they are new shows, filmed after lock down? The players' podia are not even 6 feet from each other, and Alex (a very high risk demographic) is shaking hands with them.
by Anonymous | reply 288 | May 23, 2020 2:47 AM |
R288, That was my point, Alex was not shaking hands with them. However, the contestants were seen shaking hands with each other.
by Anonymous | reply 289 | May 23, 2020 3:26 AM |
Oy vey! So many answers missed. including the Declaration of Independence!!! And the year Nixon resigned!
And Final was so easy. At least the Connecticut answer had the georgraphy portion correction -- Connecticut does border three other states -- even if both forgot Yale is there.
by Anonymous | reply 290 | May 23, 2020 5:58 AM |
I got FJ, but missed a lot of the others. Connecticut should have been crossed off their mental lists in a few seconds.
by Anonymous | reply 291 | May 23, 2020 6:08 AM |
¿Donde esta Senor Cocoa?
by Anonymous | reply 292 | May 23, 2020 11:18 AM |
How could the new champ, Morgan, not be gay?
Especially after the way he went after those Broadway show tune questions.
by Anonymous | reply 293 | May 23, 2020 11:34 AM |
Ivory?
Seriously?
by Anonymous | reply 295 | May 25, 2020 11:52 PM |
I so want to undo Sam's man bun.
by Anonymous | reply 296 | May 26, 2020 11:37 PM |
Easiest FJ in recent memory on Wednesday.
by Anonymous | reply 297 | June 4, 2020 1:49 PM |
I'm Team Ben all the way.
Meggie is beyond annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 298 | June 4, 2020 3:07 PM |
A FJ as easy as that and no one got it?
by Anonymous | reply 299 | June 4, 2020 11:57 PM |
I’m so embarrassed for them. Does no one watch Lawrence of Arabia anymore?
by Anonymous | reply 300 | June 5, 2020 12:05 AM |
This is why kids aren't getting a proper education. Alex seemed appalled that no one got it right.
by Anonymous | reply 301 | June 5, 2020 2:00 PM |
Next week is the last week of all-new Jeopardy episodes... I hope Alex will be able to return when they resume taping.
by Anonymous | reply 302 | June 5, 2020 7:04 PM |
Ben and Meggie are so hammy.
by Anonymous | reply 303 | June 6, 2020 12:05 AM |
So glad Ben won the $100K.
by Anonymous | reply 304 | June 6, 2020 12:14 AM |
Good game, although FJ was easy.
by Anonymous | reply 305 | June 6, 2020 5:55 AM |
That ex-champ doctor is straight?? Come now. Think the new champ is gay, too.
by Anonymous | reply 306 | June 10, 2020 2:12 PM |
Nice comeback for the new slick champ.
by Anonymous | reply 307 | June 10, 2020 5:35 PM |
Zack has a nice smile; Steve has a nice voice; Joanna has Rosie O's square grin/grimace thing.
Good game.
by Anonymous | reply 308 | June 11, 2020 3:23 AM |
Zach is a very cute cookie smeller.
by Anonymous | reply 309 | June 11, 2020 11:24 AM |
Raise your hand if you think Zach ditched his wife and went cruising at the nude beach.
by Anonymous | reply 310 | June 11, 2020 11:40 PM |
Color me shocked when, who I’ve been referring to “cute gay Zach” mentioned a “wife”.
by Anonymous | reply 311 | June 11, 2020 11:43 PM |
Parachuting beavers!
by Anonymous | reply 312 | June 11, 2020 11:52 PM |
I knew FJ immediately.
Aren't I special?
by Anonymous | reply 313 | June 11, 2020 11:59 PM |
How could they not know "Nano Nano" and/or "Book 'em Danno"?
by Anonymous | reply 314 | June 12, 2020 12:02 AM |
Yes I was also shocked that Zach had a wife.
I was also surprised that the woman who was far ahead in 2nd place bet everything and ended up in 3rd place, getting $1000 instead of the $2000 she would have gotten had she bet nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 315 | June 12, 2020 12:39 AM |
I figured out Final about 2 seconds before time ended. If I'd been playing the game, I wouldn't have had time to write it down!
I like Zach a lot, but was also surprised when he mentioned a wife and a babymoon.
by Anonymous | reply 316 | June 12, 2020 7:19 AM |
A lot of silent moments when no one buzzed in, and Alex seemed surprised they couldn't get the answer.
by Anonymous | reply 317 | June 12, 2020 4:52 PM |
Their youth was showing in a lot of the questions. They were probably not born during Mork and Mindy.
I guessed FJ too. Didn't seem difficult to me. And I'm not that bright.
by Anonymous | reply 318 | June 12, 2020 6:54 PM |
Zach is just the cutest. I want to wrap him up in a burrito and eat him.
Why was Alex implying that FJ was between Morrison and Angelou, if the latter died in 2014? Does he think Oprah would only have praised one of the two of them?
by Anonymous | reply 319 | June 12, 2020 11:59 PM |
Wondered the same thing. The date of Morrison's death made her the obvious answer (question).
by Anonymous | reply 320 | June 13, 2020 1:44 PM |
Zach, again with the wife.
by Anonymous | reply 321 | June 13, 2020 2:42 PM |
Did anyone else find Matt sexy as hell?
by Anonymous | reply 322 | June 13, 2020 2:43 PM |
Yes, Matt was just my type. Except for the theatrical prayer.
by Anonymous | reply 323 | June 13, 2020 5:58 PM |
So I guess that's it until the pandemic is over? I hope we see Alex again.
by Anonymous | reply 324 | June 17, 2020 6:10 AM |
CBS announced that "The Bold and the Beautiful" is resuming production on June 17th, so hopefully other shows will soon.
Alex has said he wants "Jeopardy!" to be the first game show to resume production.
by Anonymous | reply 326 | June 17, 2020 7:15 AM |
I should check a certain email account more often -- missed Monday's "Alex's 1st Day" episode, but my DVR is set for next week's "Best of Celebrity Jeopardy!"
by Anonymous | reply 327 | July 22, 2020 6:30 AM |
This game show host turns 80 today.
by Anonymous | reply 328 | July 22, 2020 6:36 AM |
Are they speeding these early episodes up to allow more more commercial breaks or something? The pace seems so frantic.
by Anonymous | reply 329 | July 22, 2020 6:42 AM |
R329, And the "questions" seem so easy.
by Anonymous | reply 330 | July 22, 2020 10:13 AM |
Each afternoon, BUZZR airs editions of "Classic Concentration" that Alex was hosting in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
by Anonymous | reply 331 | July 22, 2020 10:16 AM |
Yes, Alex was talking faster and louder back in the 1980s. I almost forgot that it was they way game show hosts talked back then. They were trying to cram the whole show in the 30 minutes and that was the only way to do it effectively.
by Anonymous | reply 332 | July 22, 2020 10:58 AM |
These classic episodes definitely sound speeded up slightly, presumably to get the entire game in while also accommodating the extra commercial time shows have in 2020.
We noticed the same thing back in May when they reran Ken Jennings first episode from 2004.
by Anonymous | reply 333 | July 22, 2020 11:40 AM |
Speaking of Ken Jennings, did anyone else notice that the promos for Alex's new book say that the Audible version is read by Alex and Ken Jennings? Is that a sign he's the replacement waiting in the wings?
by Anonymous | reply 334 | July 23, 2020 12:48 AM |
I was wondering if the episodes were sped up as well.
It's not just a matter of Alex talking faster, but his voice sounds funny as well, as if it's distorted.
by Anonymous | reply 335 | July 23, 2020 1:05 AM |
I also thought the questions are WAY easier than they are now.
by Anonymous | reply 336 | July 23, 2020 1:07 AM |
Great to have a NEW episode. Jeff the astronomer was a great player--I liked his slick hair. I missed FJ too.
by Anonymous | reply 337 | September 15, 2020 3:03 AM |
It was sad to see Alex appearing so frail on Monday's new season opener.
It looks like Ken Jennings is to be his eventual replacement.
by Anonymous | reply 338 | September 15, 2020 4:12 AM |
The champ really thought Emily Dickinson was alive in 1965?
by Anonymous | reply 339 | September 15, 2020 11:55 PM |
I didn't think spelling mattered: Barry/Berry. Not that she would have won.
by Anonymous | reply 340 | September 16, 2020 3:17 AM |
Berry Gordy is the biological father of Diana Ross' eldest daughter.
by Anonymous | reply 341 | September 16, 2020 3:31 AM |
I didn't think spelling mattered: Barry/Berry. Not that she would have won.
Yeah, what the hell was THAT about? Phonetically, Barry and Berry are the same, and if the question had been answered orally it would have been accepted, so WTF? Spelling has never mattered before.
by Anonymous | reply 342 | September 16, 2020 1:46 PM |
Spelling has never mattered before.
Except - that wasn't a simple spelling error.
That was getting the first name wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 343 | September 16, 2020 1:53 PM |
R342, No, the vowel sounds are not the same.
by Anonymous | reply 344 | September 16, 2020 11:00 PM |
How annoying was Kelly the "actress"?
Very!
by Anonymous | reply 345 | September 17, 2020 3:11 AM |
Yes, spelling has never mattered in Final before.
The difference in sound between Barry and Berry is minimal.
She clearly knew the correct answer. Should have given it to her.
by Anonymous | reply 346 | September 17, 2020 8:39 AM |
Show certainly feels different without an audience. You just don't feel the excitement of the game without the audience in attendance. Yes, they have the recorded applause, but its not the same.
by Anonymous | reply 347 | September 17, 2020 8:41 AM |
The answer is: This person hasn't been seen or heard from since April 10, 2020.
Who is Mr. Coco, Alex.
by Anonymous | reply 348 | September 17, 2020 5:52 PM |
R348, Cocoa, not Coco.
by Anonymous | reply 349 | September 17, 2020 7:20 PM |
I thought you bitches forgot all about me..
by Anonymous | reply 350 | September 17, 2020 7:32 PM |
[R348], Cocoa, not Coco.
BZZT—wrong! And also you didn't phrase it as a question.
The answer is: r14, r27, r74 and r82.
What are the genuine posts on this thread signed by the very real MR. COCO?
You, r348, like Mr. Coco, don't get an A.
by Anonymous | reply 351 | September 17, 2020 8:32 PM |
^^ Sorry, it's R351 who doesn't get an A, not r348. ^^
by Anonymous | reply 352 | September 17, 2020 8:34 PM |
Okay, how did you do that?
by Anonymous | reply 353 | September 17, 2020 11:29 PM |
Beth screwed up with FJ, crossing out Rivera, and David tanked with his true Daily Double. Good game: Joe is smart.
by Anonymous | reply 354 | September 18, 2020 6:27 AM |
Finally, a really exciting game!
Had no idea about final, but glad Joe did.
by Anonymous | reply 355 | September 18, 2020 11:40 AM |
Okay, so WTF was up with THAT? Sarah very clearly did NOT form the very last answer as a question ("Sirius/XM Radio,") but SHE WASN'T PENALIZED!! "Well, that's an unusual way of phrasing your response, but it is correct, it's Sirius/XM Radio," said Alex. And this was hot on the heels of a contestant who lost earlier in the week because she wrote "Barry" Gordy instead of "Berry."
Let's establish some rules here. folks.
by Anonymous | reply 357 | September 22, 2020 5:17 AM |
R357, That Sarah response was downright weird. I played it back twice to make sure I heard it correctly.
by Anonymous | reply 358 | September 22, 2020 10:27 AM |
Mr. Cocoa . . . Please come home!
by Anonymous | reply 359 | September 22, 2020 10:29 AM |
Generally, Alex says, "In the form of a question, please," to get the contestants to answer properly.
by Anonymous | reply 360 | September 22, 2020 10:49 AM |
Generally, Alex says, "In the form of a question, please," to get the contestants to answer properly.
He only does that in the first round. If the contestant does not answer in the form of a question, he does not remind them and they are penalized.
by Anonymous | reply 361 | September 22, 2020 12:54 PM |
My understanding is that they're allowed to get away with forgetting to respond properly during the first round - and in each of those cases, Alex reminds them.
But they are in fact supposed to be penalized if they do it during the second half of the game because I distinctly remember contestant[bold]s[/bold] losing money if they just give the answer without the question.
It's one thing that Alex didn't hear the response as such; it's another that the judges didn't pick up on it and have Alex correct it after the commercial break.
by Anonymous | reply 362 | September 22, 2020 1:45 PM |
R344. Actually, in many US dialects, the vowels are the same—for linguists, it’s the marry/merry/Mary (!) test
by Anonymous | reply 363 | September 22, 2020 2:29 PM |
My FJ guess was India, like Tyler. That was hard...
The contestant anecdotes seemed particularly awkward tonight, but I'm glad Tyler's high school theater mishap ended with a supportive round of applause which encouraged him to brush himself and get back on that damn stage.
by Anonymous | reply 364 | September 23, 2020 5:38 PM |
During the introductions, I mistook Tyler for a lesbian.
Did Reshima seem sedated to anyone else?
by Anonymous | reply 365 | September 23, 2020 7:31 PM |
Tyler needs a slap in the face.
by Anonymous | reply 366 | September 23, 2020 9:32 PM |
I guessed either India or Thailand so was half right!!
by Anonymous | reply 367 | September 23, 2020 9:48 PM |
Robert is handsome and has a great voice. FJ was the easiest in a while. Was it just me or did "Dana Hill" actually look a little like Dana Hill?
by Anonymous | reply 368 | September 24, 2020 3:02 AM |
Lisa, in the middle, appeared to be channeling RBG.
by Anonymous | reply 369 | September 24, 2020 5:39 AM |
I thought Robert was good-looking as well.
And, I'm presuming, gay.
by Anonymous | reply 370 | September 24, 2020 12:38 PM |
Now THAT was a great game.
Sameer comes from behind to win big.
by Anonymous | reply 371 | September 24, 2020 11:59 PM |
I like the new champ. He's very low-key, and manages to answer in the form of a question without sounding like he's asking a question (confidently rather than doubtfully). Plus, I loved his roadrunner story.
by Anonymous | reply 372 | September 25, 2020 4:55 AM |
If I were Mason's girlfriend, I would also take a day off from work and go with him ANYWHERE.
by Anonymous | reply 373 | September 30, 2020 12:25 AM |
I was sure Mason was a gay top.
I got FJ and none of the contestants did. The first poem I memorized in school.
by Anonymous | reply 374 | September 30, 2020 12:28 AM |
Yet another male contestant who surprised me with the mention of a girlfriend.
I thought FJ was a giveaway.
by Anonymous | reply 375 | September 30, 2020 12:33 AM |
I misunderstood FJ, guessed Superior, and feel inferior.
by Anonymous | reply 376 | September 30, 2020 3:19 AM |
I would SO like to sodomize Mason. That boy is sex on wheels.
by Anonymous | reply 377 | September 30, 2020 7:00 AM |
Final was awkwardly worded.
by Anonymous | reply 378 | September 30, 2020 8:45 AM |
Jesus, contestant thought WIN stood for Whip The Vote Now?
by Anonymous | reply 379 | October 2, 2020 2:04 PM |
Mason Maggio is hot stuff. He has a sultriness about him. Sad to see him go.
by Anonymous | reply 380 | October 2, 2020 2:08 PM |
For a “songwriter “, he knew absolutely nothing about music.
New champ is hot. Would love to see him in his uniform.
by Anonymous | reply 381 | October 3, 2020 12:37 AM |
Phillip is growing on me, cute grin. Can't believe I missed FJ tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 382 | October 3, 2020 7:08 AM |
Phillip is a very sexy man.
by Anonymous | reply 383 | October 4, 2020 6:20 AM |
R383: Yes, indeed. I’m loving his presence on my TV screen.
by Anonymous | reply 384 | October 5, 2020 1:17 AM |
He has a DILF quality that I find very reassuring
by Anonymous | reply 385 | October 5, 2020 10:55 PM |
Poor Phillip had a lousy game. Garrett is cute and played very well, but he should have got FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 386 | October 6, 2020 6:02 AM |
Puzzling that both men blanked on such an easy FJ. So nice to know that Phillip is into role playing with his brother.
by Anonymous | reply 387 | October 6, 2020 6:21 AM |
No mention of wife and kids and no wedding ring. Dare to dream that Phillip is a team member?
by Anonymous | reply 388 | October 6, 2020 9:37 PM |
I was wondering about Phillip as well, but I've been wrong about some of the other recent contestants who later mention a GF (like Mason), so who knows.
by Anonymous | reply 389 | October 7, 2020 12:41 AM |
Another incredibly easy FJ.
Garrett is, indeed, a cutie.
by Anonymous | reply 390 | October 7, 2020 2:00 AM |
I said Argentina. Oops.
by Anonymous | reply 391 | October 7, 2020 6:34 AM |
I’m surprised nobody got FJ. I found that easy, but I’ve always been horrified by that particular Bible story.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | October 8, 2020 12:29 AM |
I was forced to attend Sunday school for 6 years, and that Bible story really freaked me out too.
by Anonymous | reply 393 | October 8, 2020 3:18 AM |
Holly thought Abraham Lincoln was still alive in 1876.
Sheldon thought Annie Leibovitz was alive and photographing in 1936.
by Anonymous | reply 394 | October 8, 2020 3:46 AM |
R391: As did I.
by Anonymous | reply 395 | October 8, 2020 10:21 PM |
The sword swallower blew it when she guessed "Cartier" and lost $800 on the last question. She was the only one who got FJ, which was a toughie, and she could have won if she'd still had that extra $800 to wager.
by Anonymous | reply 396 | October 9, 2020 6:31 AM |
R396, She wasn't the only one to get FJ. Garrett also correctly guessed Hispaniola.
by Anonymous | reply 397 | October 9, 2020 8:06 AM |
Thanks - got that wrong. And I guessed Haiti...
by Anonymous | reply 398 | October 9, 2020 3:27 PM |
Brian was cute but kind of dumb. FJ was obvious.
by Anonymous | reply 399 | October 9, 2020 11:57 PM |
Barbara the bagel maker sounds like Patti "Laugh In" Deutsch.
by Anonymous | reply 400 | October 12, 2020 11:44 PM |
They gave Michael a looooong time to answer that Daily Double and he still couldn’t come up with it.
by Anonymous | reply 401 | October 13, 2020 12:22 AM |
FJ was hard. I guessed mosquitoes.
by Anonymous | reply 402 | October 13, 2020 3:37 AM |
I had cicadas. Then I remembered monarch butterflies before Alex’s hint, but after time was up
by Anonymous | reply 403 | October 13, 2020 6:02 AM |
I initially thought perhaps la cucaracha, but nobody would put that on a flag, but cicada seemed the more obvious choice. Both my thoughts were wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 404 | October 13, 2020 10:33 AM |
I also guessed the cicada.
by Anonymous | reply 405 | October 14, 2020 11:57 AM |
When was the last time there was only one player for FJ?
How did Natt even make it to air?
by Anonymous | reply 406 | October 14, 2020 1:19 PM |
That contestant in the middle podium was goofy, tedious and annoying. So glad he didn't make it to FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 407 | October 14, 2020 7:20 PM |
From HUFFPOST:
"Jeopardy!” contestant Kevin Walsh found himself completely socially distanced from the competition Tuesday ― and it had nothing to do with the game show’s coronavirus safeguards.
Walsh was the only contestant to advance to “Final Jeopardy!” after opposing players Alex Switzky and Natt Supab failed to show a profit in the regular portion.
“The stage looks like a very lonely place right now,” host Alex Trebek said as Walsh stood alone at his podium. “I cannot recall the last time we had only one player in ‘Final Jeopardy'.
by Anonymous | reply 408 | October 14, 2020 7:27 PM |
What were Natt’s pronouns?
by Anonymous | reply 409 | October 14, 2020 7:45 PM |
If Jack needs some consolation, I'm available.
by Anonymous | reply 410 | October 15, 2020 12:12 AM |
What were Natt’s pronouns?
He was such an idiot, his pronouns are probably "and" and "or"!
by Anonymous | reply 411 | October 15, 2020 1:05 AM |
Natt was a "she".
by Anonymous | reply 412 | October 15, 2020 1:14 AM |
I haven't got FJ in days. The bearded dude was a big hunk.
by Anonymous | reply 413 | October 15, 2020 3:03 AM |
Today’s FJ was easy if you watch any Marvel films.
by Anonymous | reply 414 | October 15, 2020 5:08 AM |
R413, Indeed. I was picturing him naked as he spoke.
by Anonymous | reply 415 | October 15, 2020 6:53 AM |
So glad the honeymooning lady lawyer eked out a win.
Kevin had to be one of the most boring champions ever.
by Anonymous | reply 416 | October 16, 2020 7:20 AM |
Alex was the only Type A on the show tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 417 | October 16, 2020 7:23 AM |
Oops, I guessed Rodeo too. Aaron's blue sweater was nice, but clashed with that green shirt.
by Anonymous | reply 418 | October 17, 2020 3:05 AM |
Nancy the lezzie responding "What is a dyke?" was hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 419 | October 19, 2020 11:54 PM |
No one cute and gay on tonight...
by Anonymous | reply 420 | October 20, 2020 12:41 AM |
Nancy reminded me a little of Nancy.
Why could I not get FJ? I love Kool and the Gang.
by Anonymous | reply 421 | October 20, 2020 3:05 AM |
Alex seems exasperated by the recent run of dim contestants. When none of the three got the very first answer, "What is roll out the barrel?", he knew what he was in for tonight. Carlos looks a bit like young Jeff Goldblum.
by Anonymous | reply 422 | October 21, 2020 3:37 AM |
R422, That game was torture to watch with so many non or dumb responses.
The honeymooning lady lawyer champ really shit the marriage bed at the end, deep in the red.
A three day total of just $24K?
by Anonymous | reply 423 | October 21, 2020 4:04 AM |
Is it me or have the contestants been kind of lethargic, lately. Also, how do you miss a question about, "The Grapes of Wrath".
by Anonymous | reply 424 | October 21, 2020 11:24 PM |
Aimee needs a Valium.
by Anonymous | reply 425 | October 22, 2020 12:37 AM |
R425 Ha. I was thinking she needs needs to cut back on her caffeine intake.
by Anonymous | reply 426 | October 22, 2020 2:11 AM |
Finally, three bright contestants and a great game. Cole was on fire, but the FJ category was clearly not his strength.
by Anonymous | reply 427 | October 22, 2020 3:07 AM |
I dunno, R427, it would seem that as a writer, an FJ category about a writer should have been Cole's greatest strength.
by Anonymous | reply 428 | October 22, 2020 4:32 AM |
That's true, I forgot he was a writer. One of the few questions he missed was a Broadway daily double, and I thought maybe plays and movies weren't his thing.
by Anonymous | reply 429 | October 22, 2020 5:27 AM |
Good see-saw game tonight until the two guys tanked. Jon had nice hair.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | October 31, 2020 3:51 AM |
Yeah, sorry Jon lost. The champ seems nice, but not a lot of personality.
by Anonymous | reply 431 | October 31, 2020 2:09 PM |
That was a giveaway FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 432 | November 3, 2020 3:03 AM |
It's amazing how tepid these shows are with most of the contestants within driving distance of the studio!

The Jeopardy thread used to be hopping. What’s going on?
by Anonymous | reply 434 | November 4, 2020 12:37 AM |
I think someone suggested they are paywalled, but I'm not sure...
by Anonymous | reply 435 | November 4, 2020 12:40 AM |
Darn, Jeopardy was cancelled tonight due to the election...
by Anonymous | reply 436 | November 4, 2020 1:02 AM |
And Alex has died. RIP
by Anonymous | reply 437 | November 8, 2020 7:08 PM |
Weird weekend -- Awakened yesterday to the uplifting news of Biden's win and this morning to the sad news of Alex's death.
by Anonymous | reply 438 | November 8, 2020 7:42 PM |
The year 2020 can't be over soon enough.
Having watched Jeopardy for years and years, I was really shocked to hear this.
There are enough episodes to last until Christmas.
We've all seen this, but it's worth repeating . . .
by Anonymous | reply 439 | November 9, 2020 12:40 AM |
Fittingly, as a tribute to Alex, it was a great game on Mon. with three smart contestants. I 'm quite attracted to tall Ben; a little intense, but the side shots showed he has a nice ass.
by Anonymous | reply 440 | November 10, 2020 3:19 AM |
Lovely gesture. The Carillon on Parliament Hill plays theme from Jeopardy! in honour of Alex Trebek. RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 441 | November 10, 2020 3:23 AM |
R439: It was a beautiful gesture on his part.
by Anonymous | reply 442 | November 10, 2020 10:10 AM |
R440, Ben has "Andy Cohen eyes".
by Anonymous | reply 443 | November 10, 2020 10:15 AM |
Ben should have got FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 444 | November 11, 2020 3:03 AM |
It was funny to see Mariah's studied focus on the teleprompter when she read clues about her own career.
by Anonymous | reply 445 | November 12, 2020 12:58 AM |
No comments on John, "Jeopardy!" champion for Friday, November 13th? Because I kept picturing him bare chested.
by Anonymous | reply 446 | November 15, 2020 6:26 AM |
John looked good in uniform. He's super smart, especially with history, but his Achilles heel may be the arts.
by Anonymous | reply 447 | November 15, 2020 7:21 AM |
Here is John all decked out in another uniform . . .
by Anonymous | reply 448 | November 15, 2020 1:56 PM |
Is he wed? Couldn't tell if he had a ring.
by Anonymous | reply 449 | November 15, 2020 2:40 PM |
I looked on Friday, and he wasn't wearing one.
by Anonymous | reply 450 | November 15, 2020 2:41 PM |
Surprised John missed FJ. Good game, though. Bold Double Jeopardy wagers by the new champ.
by Anonymous | reply 451 | November 17, 2020 3:44 AM |
FJ was so obvious, very surprised that John missed it.
At least we discovered that he is a married father.
by Anonymous | reply 452 | November 17, 2020 4:11 AM |
Tougher FJ today, for me at least. Kevin was cute and had a sexy, slow-talker voice.
by Anonymous | reply 453 | November 19, 2020 5:40 AM |
Andy was really cute when he was a bit younger.
by Anonymous | reply 454 | November 19, 2020 1:00 PM |
So were we all!
by Anonymous | reply 455 | November 19, 2020 5:53 PM |
R454, He's not exactly ready for the recycling bin now.
by Anonymous | reply 456 | November 19, 2020 6:14 PM |
I find current champ Henry very sexy, even though he's not my physical type of guy.
His breadth of knowledge is quite impressive.
by Anonymous | reply 457 | November 25, 2020 5:34 AM |
I’d watch a Ryan/Henry sex tape.
by Anonymous | reply 458 | November 25, 2020 11:38 PM |
Ryan is a gay! He got Cher.
The other two gave stupid responses.
by Anonymous | reply 459 | November 25, 2020 11:57 PM |
While I'll miss Henry with his BDF and long fingers, I find Ryan's smile to be really sexy.
Plus (as was mentioned above) he got Cher.
That woman at the end was a real idiot for most of the show.
It seemed like she was guessing at most of the responses she gave - just throwing out answers, hoping that they would be correct.
by Anonymous | reply 460 | November 26, 2020 1:06 AM |
I like to see Henry in his water polo gear.
by Anonymous | reply 461 | November 26, 2020 5:10 AM |
I loved big-dicked Zack.
by Anonymous | reply 462 | November 27, 2020 1:11 AM |
The champ is doing great. Gabriel started out well until he got to the first daily double. How could he not know that Toni Morrison wrote The Bluest Eye?
by Anonymous | reply 463 | November 27, 2020 11:58 PM |
Great game for Ryan after a slow start: strategic $9000 Daily Double wager (it was an easy question), then nailing FJ, which was insanely difficult.
by Anonymous | reply 464 | November 28, 2020 5:38 AM |
Gabriel was insufferable. Glad he lost and that Alex didn’t have to spend what little time he had left dealing with his pomposity. I’ve never had coffee or seen a Star Wars movie. What a douche nozzle.
by Anonymous | reply 465 | November 28, 2020 11:26 PM |
Gabriel was a good player, even if he didn't posses the charisma.
by Anonymous | reply 466 | November 30, 2020 6:59 PM |
I knew FJ! It seemed easy but I guess those young ‘uns don’t know Monty Python.
by Anonymous | reply 467 | December 1, 2020 12:44 AM |
I’m so glad Ryan beat fatass Ben.
by Anonymous | reply 468 | December 1, 2020 2:38 AM |
I love Monty Python and still missed FJ. Ryan is an amazing player.
by Anonymous | reply 469 | December 1, 2020 2:59 AM |
Me too. FJ was totally baffling for me.
by Anonymous | reply 470 | December 1, 2020 12:45 PM |
What a surprising upset victory!
by Anonymous | reply 471 | December 2, 2020 11:58 PM |
As someone who loves Melville, I could kick myself for being stumped by FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 472 | December 3, 2020 12:50 AM |
I guessed Heathcliff...
by Anonymous | reply 473 | December 3, 2020 2:00 AM |
I guessed the Count of Monte Cristo too. Tricky when revenge against a non-human wasn't on my radar...
by Anonymous | reply 474 | December 3, 2020 3:03 AM |
What a surprise! The mousy mediocre contestant takes it all. No one was more surprised than she was. I didn't guess Moby either. A great question for FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 475 | December 3, 2020 12:57 PM |
I figured Final was about Moby Dick. Between the 1851 publication date and the mention of revenge, that was pretty obvious.
But I blanked on the name of Captain Ahab!
by Anonymous | reply 476 | December 3, 2020 7:29 PM |
1851 was a dead giveaway.
by Anonymous | reply 477 | December 4, 2020 6:38 PM |
FJ tonight - I was torn between Cyprus and Malta, but ultimately chose Malta.
by Anonymous | reply 478 | December 5, 2020 1:12 AM |
I too figured Final was either Cyprus or Malta, but I chose Cyprus.
by Anonymous | reply 479 | December 6, 2020 4:31 AM |
I chose . . . wisely.
by Anonymous | reply 480 | December 6, 2020 5:05 AM |
That was a gutsy late in the game DD by Katherine.
FJ seemed pretty obvious to me.
by Anonymous | reply 481 | December 8, 2020 11:48 AM |
Wow. No one guessed "West Side Story" for FJ. Those three should get on DL.
by Anonymous | reply 482 | December 12, 2020 5:51 AM |
I was shocked as well. I knew the answer halfway into reading it.
by Anonymous | reply 483 | December 12, 2020 2:00 PM |
I knew the hockey-playing lesbian would not get FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 484 | December 12, 2020 4:04 PM |
I've just finished watching several episodes back to back. Weird that the show had lesbians in the #3 slot on both Thursday and Friday. I found myself wondering, "Is this the designated lesbian slot?"
Yes, West Side Story was obvious However, I will point out, Broadway has been closed since March and therefore Broadway happenings aren't making the news routinely like they would if normally.
by Anonymous | reply 485 | December 12, 2020 6:02 PM |
Contestants lately seem to be less knowledgeable about literature and theater. They’re Philistines.
by Anonymous | reply 486 | December 12, 2020 6:04 PM |
How could Wicked be a revival when the original Broadway production is/was still running?
by Anonymous | reply 487 | December 12, 2020 6:12 PM |
FJ clue included "Joan Sutherland", and yet only one contestant guessed "Sydney Opera House".
by Anonymous | reply 488 | December 15, 2020 6:12 AM |
Not everyone knows he she was . . . or where she was born.
by Anonymous | reply 489 | December 15, 2020 12:25 PM |
Name Joan Sutherland means nothing to me.
by Anonymous | reply 490 | December 15, 2020 6:03 PM |
Well, Brayden sure recovered nicely from that lame mini-golf story at the start.
by Anonymous | reply 491 | December 16, 2020 3:20 AM |
Has there ever been an easier Final Jeopardy question than Tuesday's about O Magazine?
by Anonymous | reply 492 | December 16, 2020 9:00 AM |
What kind of mini-golf courses have live alligators nearby?
by Anonymous | reply 493 | December 16, 2020 1:12 PM |
I actually thought of Mad Magazine at first. 🙃☺️

Whoa . . . How hot was Spencer?
Very!
by Anonymous | reply 496 | December 17, 2020 12:01 AM |
I'd love to get lost in the wilderness with Spencer on one of his meandering hikes.
by Anonymous | reply 497 | December 17, 2020 3:57 AM |
Teja was handsome and smart. Brayden appears to be unstoppable, super fast on the buzzer and getting all the Daily Doubles, although Rostand tripped him up in FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 498 | December 18, 2020 3:18 AM |
Brayden also seems to be enjoying his success more and more. He's at least started to smile now and then.
by Anonymous | reply 499 | December 18, 2020 12:00 PM |
Devon = Ron Burgundy
Maybe he can take over as host...
I had no idea for FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 500 | December 19, 2020 3:48 AM |
R499, Brayden seems a bit off. He feigns embarrassment when he’s kicking his opponents’ asses.
by Anonymous | reply 501 | December 19, 2020 3:54 AM |
I guessed Hallmark for Final because of the reference to envelopes.
by Anonymous | reply 502 | December 19, 2020 11:29 AM |
I would have guessed 3M too.
by Anonymous | reply 503 | December 19, 2020 2:33 PM |
Normally, watching Jeopardy is one of the ways I unwind from a long day. It's usually very relaxing.
Tuesday's episode was anything but relaxing. It was 15 or more years old and was clearly sped up to get the entire episode in plus all the commericials. But it was so sped up, I felt like I was moving at super speed. I felt more wired and wound up after watching it than I did before I started watching.
If all the episodes from this two week retrospective are sped up like this, I may have to skip it.
by Anonymous | reply 504 | December 23, 2020 10:40 AM |
I thought Christmas Day was when they were scheduled to air the last show with Alex Trebek, but they only replayed an older game form years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 505 | January 4, 2021 2:46 PM |
That was the original intent, but they moved Trebek's final episodes to this week, with his last appearance being on Friday.
by Anonymous | reply 506 | January 4, 2021 2:49 PM |
Show wants high ratings for the final week of Trebek shows, viewership often goes down during the holidays. So they showed repeats for two weeks and are airing his final episodes this week.
by Anonymous | reply 507 | January 4, 2021 8:10 PM |
Anyone else finding Jeopardy! Executive Producer Mike Richards sexy as hell?
by Anonymous | reply 508 | January 5, 2021 6:21 AM |
I didn't get FJ, even though I've read the book. David really mucked up that $10,000 Daily Double.
by Anonymous | reply 509 | January 5, 2021 6:27 AM |
Yeah, poor David. He shouldn't have forgotten the pen.
by Anonymous | reply 510 | January 5, 2021 12:26 PM |

FJ was SO hard. I had no idea that Carolus is Latin for Charles.
by Anonymous | reply 513 | January 6, 2021 4:44 AM |
Carlos is Spanish for Charles. I've not seen the show, today our local ABC affiliate, was running the Georgia runoff results.
by Anonymous | reply 514 | January 6, 2021 6:51 AM |
I guessed FJ correctly, but it was a shot in the dark. Ex-champ looked pretty grumpy at his loss.
by Anonymous | reply 515 | January 6, 2021 12:54 PM |
Only reason I guessed North and South Carolina was because of the TWO states and the date.
Had never really thought before about Carolina somehow being a derivative of Charles.
by Anonymous | reply 516 | January 6, 2021 5:47 PM |
Can’t believe I missed FJ! I love that movie. I guess I forgot the category.
by Anonymous | reply 517 | January 7, 2021 2:39 AM |
As Alex said, another hard FJ. Would never have got it. I like the new champ.
by Anonymous | reply 518 | January 7, 2021 3:52 AM |
I initially guessed 1917 for Final, then realized it came out in 2019. I then quickly realized the answer was Wonder Woman. Not sure I would have had enough time to get my answer written down before time was up.
by Anonymous | reply 519 | January 7, 2021 6:47 AM |
Just bumping this up because tonight was Alex's last appearance.
by Anonymous | reply 520 | January 9, 2021 1:01 AM |
Nice clip montage of Alex at the end of his last show.
by Anonymous | reply 521 | January 9, 2021 8:43 AM |
Future trivia question -- What was Alex's final Final Jeopardy question?
by Anonymous | reply 522 | January 9, 2021 10:58 AM |
It's too bad Alex's final game was not more competitive.
by Anonymous | reply 523 | January 9, 2021 11:07 AM |
Goodbye Alex.
Hopefully they will find someone better to replace you than that smug, unfunny Mormon.
by Anonymous | reply 524 | January 9, 2021 12:26 PM |
Actually, Katie Couric might make a good permanent replacement as long as she reins in the cutesy factor.
by Anonymous | reply 526 | January 9, 2021 1:19 PM |
That would be impossible, r526. And please, no Meredith Vierra.
by Anonymous | reply 527 | January 9, 2021 6:19 PM |
Well, we get to sample Ken as a host starting tonight.
Wonder if he'll be any better than he was on his new game show The Chase?
by Anonymous | reply 528 | January 11, 2021 7:48 PM |
Well I'm not looking forward to Ken.
If it had to be a major Jeopardy player, I'd rather it be Brad Rutter.
by Anonymous | reply 529 | January 11, 2021 9:12 PM |
Just watched it here in the Midwest. He’s low energy and his voice is kind of feeble. He’s pleasant enough, but that alone won’t get the job done.
by Anonymous | reply 530 | January 11, 2021 10:12 PM |
I thought he did well. Seemed to lose some steam towards the end, but he'll develop the pacing. Nerves might have been a part of that.
Nice tribute he gave to Alex in the beginning.
by Anonymous | reply 531 | January 12, 2021 12:27 AM |
Yeah, he wasn’t a complete disaster.
He said nice things about Alex and he seemed to really choke up at times.
It felt like he was sort of rushing but he was alright.
by Anonymous | reply 532 | January 12, 2021 1:19 AM |
I though Ken was fine too. Nice suit. The new champ had a great comeback and scored in a very broad range of categories. I love Elvis, but missed FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 533 | January 12, 2021 2:23 AM |
Me too. I guess a rudimentary knowledge of Spanish would have helped. Which I do not have.
by Anonymous | reply 534 | January 12, 2021 12:55 PM |
I thought Ken did a fine job. He's merely mimicking what Alex did at the moment and he did fine with that. Yes, he seemed to have had a little bit of nerves, but WHO WOULDN'T hosting the first show after Alex's death? I imagine Ken will develop his own style once he gets some shows under his belt.
Ken did a very nice tribute to Alex at first. There was also a nice tribute at the end of end credits.
I imagine Brad Rutter will be given a shot at being guest host. I think Brad will do well as host too. Likely James Holzhauer will get a shot at guest host as well, but I suspect he will be very poor as host.
Final was fairly obvious. I don't speak Spanish, but know enough to know "Viva" means "Live." With the reference to a hit song and movie of the same name in 1964, it didn't take much to figure out it was Viva Las Vegas.
by Anonymous | reply 535 | January 12, 2021 7:39 PM |
Lucy is super smart. Nice FJ category for an animal lover. Checkers wasn't a bad guess.
by Anonymous | reply 536 | January 13, 2021 3:17 AM |
Very good game! Liked Lucy a lot. Remembering the name of that dog was impressive. Checkers was the only thing I could come up with and I knew that was wrong.

Anyone watching The Chase on ABC on Thursday nights? It's a game show featuring contestants trying to match wits in trivia competitions with Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauser. Show debuted just after the New Year
Each week, one of the three Jeopardy champs goes up against the contestants. So far, Ken and James have gone up against contestants. Presumably, Brad will go next week.
As far as their performance, let's just say that Ken was affable enough, but James came across as a complete jerk.
Any thoughts I had about whether James could be host of Jeopardy were erased after watching him on The Chase.
by Anonymous | reply 541 | January 15, 2021 6:56 PM |
I thought Ken was great: the small talk during the contestant chats can be painfully awkward , but he handled it well all week.
by Anonymous | reply 542 | January 16, 2021 6:01 AM |
Ken is doing better than I thought he would. He has spent the past year undergoing intensive training to be the host and it appears this has helped him to be a successful host.
That being said, I am looking forward to other guest hosts - especially a fellow alma mater of UC Berkeley, Aaron Rodgers.
by Anonymous | reply 543 | January 17, 2021 12:13 PM |
Ken has done remarkably well in following in Alex's footsteps. The producers groomed him well. Definitely a good choice for the first guest host since Alex's death.
Seeing how the other guest hosts do will be interesting, but I would not be at all surprised if Ken ends up getting the gig permanently.
by Anonymous | reply 544 | January 17, 2021 12:36 PM |
I hate how contestants have become so unknowledgeable about literature. They didn’t know Graham Greene or Edith Wharton today.
by Anonymous | reply 545 | January 18, 2021 11:52 PM |
Jennifer reminded me of DL fave Alice Ghostley.
by Anonymous | reply 546 | January 19, 2021 3:08 AM |
Have you noticed Ken’s eyes show anger when the contestants miss an easy one?
by Anonymous | reply 547 | January 20, 2021 9:52 PM |
That was a great photo of Sarah and Alex on the subway.

by Anonymous | reply 550 | January 22, 2021 11:33 PM |
Jack came so close! Now I feel like I should comfort him.
by Anonymous | reply 551 | January 22, 2021 11:57 PM |
Jack seems a bit tense.
by Anonymous | reply 552 | January 23, 2021 5:27 AM |
They should let both high scorers continue as champion.
What would happen if the player who won the buzzer race answered incorrectly?
by Anonymous | reply 553 | January 24, 2021 5:49 PM |
R553, up until just a few years ago, tying players did return for the next game. Prior to that, the tiebreaker question was only used in tournaments so they wouldn't have to give more than one person the big bucks.
If the first player to buzz in answered incorrectly, the other player would have a chance to answer. If their answer was also incorrect, a second tiebreaker question would be asked. They would keep going as necessary, but only the deciding question would be aired.
by Anonymous | reply 554 | January 24, 2021 8:54 PM |
Yeah, both should come back. Don't like this deciding who the winner is in a sudden death tie breaker.
Jack came so far and beat the odds to end up in a tie at the end of Final. Somehow he deserves more than to go home with a mere $2,000 just because he was a milisecond slower on the buzzer.

Would it kill Brian Chang to turn and at least acknowledge the other contestants? Smile, nod, some sort of graciousness?
by Anonymous | reply 560 | January 27, 2021 2:29 AM |
No, R557, you weren't. I kept hearing Droopy Dog when Elliott spoke.
by Anonymous | reply 561 | January 27, 2021 6:15 AM |
I think Brian is socially awkward at best.
by Anonymous | reply 562 | January 27, 2021 1:07 PM |
R560, And he's an attorney? What must his courtroom presentations be like?
by Anonymous | reply 563 | January 27, 2021 1:12 PM |
Was shocked that nobody recognized James Garner... wow.
Wonder how long they'll keep Ken Jennings hosting. He's doing well.
by Anonymous | reply 564 | January 27, 2021 3:11 PM |
R563 I doubt he litigates in court.
by Anonymous | reply 565 | January 27, 2021 3:12 PM |
Yeah, R564, much as I hate to admit it, he is doing well.
I especially like that he thanks Alex after every episode.
by Anonymous | reply 566 | January 27, 2021 8:04 PM |
Too bad Alex in the middle blew it. He seemed charming, and had great hair. Hard FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 567 | January 28, 2021 3:34 AM |
But he apparently thinks it's General CUSTARD, R567! 🤣 Ken seemed thrown by that -- he wanted to tell him he had it half right when he really didn't.
R564, I read somewhere that he taped 30 shows.
I'm liking Ken as host more than I thought I would as well. He's not condescending in the way Alex often was and having been a contestant engenders empathy.
by Anonymous | reply 568 | January 28, 2021 5:41 AM |
Being an all-time-great player gives him a certain something extra it will be hard to match.
by Anonymous | reply 569 | January 28, 2021 6:03 AM |
Wouldn't he be allowed "Custard"? I thought spelling didn't count in FJ.

Easy FJ. Ken had a nice tie today. He dresses up nicely.
by Anonymous | reply 576 | January 29, 2021 3:06 AM |
I was sure FJ was Belfast.
Easy win for Zach. The other two seemed to be guessing throughout the game.

I knew Londonderry was the answer because it was in the news so often growing up. If you weren't a child of the 70s, you're unlikely to have heard of the place.
Likely same reason people didn't know who James Garner was.

So, they waited until Brian Chang had won 7 games to bring in Zach to challenge him?
Zach was sitting backstage all week long and they decided to bring him out after Brian's 7th win?? Well, I guess that' one way to keep Brian from racking up too many wins.
All that said, I like Zach better than Brian, but think Brian got a shitty deal. One of the main advantages of competing again two people who've never been on camera before is that they lack the comfort and experience of playing the game for real. They took that advantage away from Brian.

Team Zach. I was beyond ready for Brian to go.

Brian Chang was an asshole. I get that he’s socially awkward, but as soon as Zach was there, all of sudden he knew how to smile, turn to his left, acknowledge someone other than Jennings and be polite. Chang saw Zach as a fellow winner and attorney, someone in league with him.
Knock Zach for his zany smile or whatever, but at least he’s not above being polite to his fellow players.

Zach has a wife?

Hard FJ. Hadn't a clue.

I had no idea about Final.
Zach really lost his mojo when he missed the Daily Double question. If he hadn't bet so much on that Daily Double, he's still be the champ.
No one knew Valerie Harper played Rhoda? Is the Mary Tyler Moore Show that unknown to Gen Xers?

He just seemed to lose steam as the show went on. Also, the categories didn't seem in his wheelhouse.

I could only come up with "inertia" for FJ.
I can see not knowing James Garner or Valerie Harper, but they also could not identify Dave Chappelle and he's current.

I knew entropy. It’s the story of my life.

Looks like Dr. Sanjay is going to be a guest host.

Another hard FJ. If I had an hour I might have figured it out...
by Anonymous | reply 591 | February 3, 2021 3:06 AM |
I actually did figure it out, because I remembered Geisel went to Dartmouth, but then moved away because my brain couldn’t get Seuss to rhyme with rejoice. I like to think I’d have written Seuss in the moment, but who knows.

Will every guest host close with "Thank you, Alex"?
by Anonymous | reply 593 | February 4, 2021 5:49 AM |
There's now a move to keep Dr. Oz from being a guest host.
by Anonymous | reply 594 | February 4, 2021 5:50 AM |
One "Thank you Alex" was sufficient.
Didn't get FJ again. Good work by the new champ.

R594 - that's good to know.
Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to have a quack be a Jeopardy host?

New champ has the personality of a postage stamp.
by Anonymous | reply 597 | February 4, 2021 4:17 PM |
People are so fucking ridiculous. Some asswipes on the TVLine comments saying they won’t watch Anderson or Couric when they host are beyond ignorant.
Such assholes everywhere.
🙄🙄🙄

Anderson Cooper won one of the celebrity Jeopardy tournaments, so I'd say he's a good choice to do a guest host gig.
