Jeopardy! - Part 20

With no studio audience.

by Anonymousreply 600February 4, 2021 11:59 PM

Did Wednesday's winner, win again on Thursday?

The one who beat Kris?

I missed Thursday's show.

by Anonymousreply 1March 20, 2020 4:37 PM

FYI, Part 19 is paywalled.

by Anonymousreply 2March 20, 2020 4:37 PM

Woohoo Nick Klotz from Wisconsin!

Damn, he's hot. I'm so happy he won!

Those two bitches were BITTER at the end. They really hated that he won.

Oh, well. Too bad!

by Anonymousreply 3March 25, 2020 2:58 AM

I love the new guy Adam!

He's cute and funny.

Actually, all three players yesterday were really good.

Nick was cute, but so was Adam. It was so hard to choose between them.

by Anonymousreply 4March 26, 2020 7:49 PM

Adam looks a bit like Fred Savage.

by Anonymousreply 5March 26, 2020 9:37 PM

Nick Klotz isn't as cute as I thought he was.

by Anonymousreply 6March 26, 2020 9:38 PM

Did Adam win again today?

by Anonymousreply 7March 26, 2020 10:43 PM

That show was insane!

Khalilah is a fucking maniac. Omg, she was the most aggressive player I've ever seen.

She's smart, but she's totally mental.

The other two players were just ... DUDS. Including yesterday's champ.

My gosh, that was one of the saddest games I've ever seen (in terms of smarts), but it was still exciting!

by Anonymousreply 8March 28, 2020 2:58 AM

Good FJ. And two cutie pies in the game!

by Anonymousreply 9March 31, 2020 11:58 PM

Glad Khaliyah lost. I really didn't like her style of play.

Happy for the new guy, especially because he's cute!

by Anonymousreply 10April 1, 2020 12:06 AM

JR in the middle spot tonight is really damn cute.

by Anonymousreply 11April 1, 2020 2:04 AM

I hope that Kyle and JR went back to the hotel after the show, and had hot sex.

by Anonymousreply 12April 1, 2020 2:43 AM

R12, they did, with me. I was quite satisfied.

by Anonymousreply 13April 1, 2020 2:47 AM

Kyle reminded me a lot of Mayor Pete.

Final was easy.

by Anonymousreply 14April 1, 2020 2:58 AM

Oy, J.R.--wanted to see him play again... but Leanne was amazing and earned her victory. Her voice reminded me of Lilith's on "Cheers". Poor Kyle--good contestant, lousy game--he looked crushed.

by Anonymousreply 15April 1, 2020 3:07 AM

Damn that Leeanne!

She ruined everything!

by Anonymousreply 16April 1, 2020 3:07 AM

I see poor Glenn is delivering clues again. First her tag sale, now game shows. I can't imagine what she'll do next for a pay check. A sequel to "Maxie"?

by Anonymousreply 17April 1, 2020 7:54 AM

Yay Hemant! I wanted him to win.

Haha Leanne. Good riddance. Sucks that she had to steal the win from Kyle and JR yesterday. Bitch!

Kami is weird.

by Anonymousreply 18April 2, 2020 2:58 AM

Not surprising, but Jeopardy! suspended production —

3/20/20

Jeopardy! has suspended production until further notice.

The episodes that are currently airing were taped several weeks ago – well before concerns about the coronavirus. Any interactions between contestants, Alex or the studio audience took place when such actions were considered safe.

We take the well-being of our staff, crew, contestants, audience guests and host very seriously, and will not resume taping until it is completely safe.

Similarly, all previously scheduled contestant searches have been postponed. We will not resume contestant tryouts until it is safe to do so. However, please note that if you have not taken the Jeopardy! Anytime Test online, you may now do so whenever it is convenient for you from your home computer or mobile device.

by Anonymousreply 19April 3, 2020 1:11 AM

Felicity has a boyfriend?

(Posting here since the Jeopardy 19 thread is paywalled)

by Anonymousreply 20April 3, 2020 1:21 AM

Another update —

3/24/20

To All Current (and Future!) Contestants:

If you are currently in the Jeopardy! contestant pool, please know that the show has suspended production until the current health crisis has passed. However, the contestant team is taking this interruption into consideration, and the standard 18-month window of eligibility will be extended accordingly. At minimum, all current applicants will have their active status extended equivalent to the length of this hiatus.

If your shows have already been taped and you are anticipating air dates, there is a chance that some episodes may be rescheduled. In the event of a date change, the contestant team will contact you individually with detailed information as it becomes available and/or necessary.

by Anonymousreply 21April 3, 2020 1:24 AM

Hemant choked. Good sport, though.

by Anonymousreply 22April 3, 2020 3:18 AM

Surprise ending. Hearst??

by Anonymousreply 23April 4, 2020 3:14 AM

I call dibs on Marshall. He’s not the brightest bulb on the tree, but he’s adorable and he knows how to bend over.

Emma is a cute girl but she’s in desperate need of a makeover.

by Anonymousreply 24April 6, 2020 11:59 PM

No! I wanted dibs on him but was locked out of posting earlier! He is cute as hell. Didn't think there was a chance for him to win.

by Anonymousreply 25April 7, 2020 1:27 AM

Marshall Comeaux is adorable.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 26April 7, 2020 1:46 AM

My gaydar isn't great, but Marshall... yeah.

by Anonymousreply 27April 7, 2020 2:58 AM

Marshall.... did you catch the ADHD? He could keep the button and the cord down, get lifting, twisting it... Adderall boy.

by Anonymousreply 28April 7, 2020 3:05 AM

Marshall is very cute!

I'm so happy he won.

I honestly thought that Emma was going to leave him in the dust, but he managed to pull off a win. Good for him!

Btw, are we sure that Marshall isn't Datalounge favorite "Joel?"

He looks like he could play the part... lol.

by Anonymousreply 29April 7, 2020 10:08 AM

R29, we’ll need to see Marshall in a Speedo, or less, to be sure.

by Anonymousreply 30April 7, 2020 11:26 AM

R30 A scantily clad photo would be nice.

by Anonymousreply 31April 7, 2020 3:23 PM

He’s cute — and from all appearances, gay. I’m glad that he made it to the semifinals, but he’s inconsistent. He knew a lot about some topics, but he made some odd, and incorrect guesses that pulled down his score. I think he just needs to calm down a bit.

by Anonymousreply 32April 7, 2020 4:06 PM

R32, Marshall thought canine was spelled with a "k".

Don't see why some of you pegged him as gay. I don't get even a hint from him.

Marshall is a sophomore, so he's probably 20?

by Anonymousreply 33April 7, 2020 4:21 PM

Yes, R33, he’s a sophomore. I scrolled through his limited IG posts. I definitely get a gay geeky vibe from him. Catholic high school, quiz teams, likes Mayor Pete. 🤷‍♂️ I’d say it’s certainly likely.

by Anonymousreply 34April 7, 2020 4:33 PM

by Anonymousreply 36April 7, 2020 4:33 PM

Top or bottom?

by Anonymousreply 37April 7, 2020 4:38 PM

Marshall would make a terrific Robin.

by Anonymousreply 38April 7, 2020 5:34 PM

R38 Marshall would make a terrific Bottom.

by Anonymousreply 39April 7, 2020 5:59 PM

Glad to have found thread. Didn't know the previous one had been paywalled. In the future, please post a link to the new thread in the old thread. That always helps.

I didn't get gay vibes off Marshall. I got young, nervous and excited vibes off him.

Now, Felicity from last week. She had a boyfriend?!? That caught me off guard. She looked classic lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 40April 7, 2020 6:17 PM

We'll know for sure if he's Joel if does really well in the category "Lhasa Apsos".

by Anonymousreply 41April 7, 2020 6:18 PM

I don’t think Comeaux is a homo.

by Anonymousreply 42April 7, 2020 7:30 PM

People who are paywalled can’t put a link in the old thread and no one else knows about the new one.

by Anonymousreply 43April 7, 2020 7:32 PM
In the future, please post a link to the new thread in the old thread. That always helps.

Same thought as R43.

Usually the paywall comes up out of nowhere, it's impossible to link a new thread, because people are already locked out.

That's actually why a new thread has to be created. Because we can't post in the old thread.

by Anonymousreply 44April 7, 2020 8:17 PM

^you CAN post, you’re just too cheap.

by Anonymousreply 45April 7, 2020 10:40 PM

My local station is broadcasting a repeat program. Why is that?

by Anonymousreply 46April 7, 2020 11:29 PM

Perhaps the solution is to go ahead the create Part 21 NOW. Publicize that thread in this thread and have everyone bookmark it. Then, leave it alone until it's needed. Continue using this thread until it is paywalled.

That way, those of us who are paying members will see it pop up in our thread watcher when people start using it thus signalling that the current one is Murieled.

by Anonymousreply 47April 8, 2020 2:01 AM

Or we could just pay up.

by Anonymousreply 48April 8, 2020 2:29 AM

Yalie is probably gay.

by Anonymousreply 49April 8, 2020 2:29 AM

Yalie is the best player I've seen in a while.

by Anonymousreply 50April 8, 2020 3:06 AM

Relieved to see that the Yale guy beat the two trash Florida girls.

Is this tournament new? It seems like it’s a repeat.

by Anonymousreply 51April 8, 2020 3:49 AM

Nathaniel is definitely gay.

I was wondering the same thing, R51.

Is this a new tournament, or a re-run from 2019?

by Anonymousreply 52April 8, 2020 6:15 AM

Seems to be new. There was a question about the movie Knives Out, which came out in Nov. 2019.

by Anonymousreply 53April 8, 2020 10:22 AM
Or we could just pay up.

I'm paid up. Have been for a long time.

But others choose not to pay the $1.50 a month for various reasons. Not all of those reasons make sense to me, but the point is, these threads are more enjoyable with more people participating.

by Anonymousreply 54April 8, 2020 10:26 AM

From the New York Post . . .

“Jeopardy!” fans were bowled over on Tuesday night when a clue on the board seemed to reference the coronavirus pandemic.

But the April 7 episode — in which three university students were competing as the storied ABC game show’s two-week-long College Championship — was filmed in early February.

Nathaniel Miller, a sophomore at Yale, selected an $800 clue during Double Jeopardy from the category “Health & Medicine".

Beloved host Alex Trebek, who is battling pancreatic cancer, read out the prompt: “From a Greek word for people, it describes a disease that affects many people at one time.”

Miller buzzed in with the correct answer, “What is a pandemic?”

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic on March 11.

It didn’t take long for fans of the show to exclaim over the coincidence on social media.

by Anonymousreply 55April 8, 2020 12:21 PM

^But nobody saw this coming!

by Anonymousreply 56April 8, 2020 4:27 PM

R56 The deplorables still believe him.

by Anonymousreply 57April 8, 2020 5:41 PM

Did Marshall win again?

by Anonymousreply 58April 9, 2020 2:28 AM

R58, he wasn’t playing today but there was another cute gay named Alistair, who lost.

FJ was insanely easy, but only one got it correct.

by Anonymousreply 59April 9, 2020 2:29 AM

Londyn kicked ass today! Good for her.

Sophomores have won three days in a row so far.

by Anonymousreply 60April 9, 2020 2:58 AM

I guessed Dickinson for FJ like Alistair, then felt really dumb. Londyn was a terrific player.

by Anonymousreply 61April 9, 2020 5:52 AM

Truman called Lee “Nelle” in Capote and Infamous.

by Anonymousreply 62April 9, 2020 6:08 AM

What exactly did Londyn say she wanted to do for a career, when Alex somewhat scolded her for it?

I totally missed her interview, but caught the end part, when he was raising his eyebrow at her.

She was doing some dancing movement, and if I heard correctly (from far away) she said she wanted to meet a rich guy.

by Anonymousreply 63April 9, 2020 10:04 AM

She said her major was Arabic and she might marry a rich Sheikh.

by Anonymousreply 64April 9, 2020 2:29 PM

She seemed like a total airhead, but was an ace player.

by Anonymousreply 65April 9, 2020 3:32 PM

No wonder she was trying to belly dance, R64.

Odd that her other career choice was to become a lawyer.

by Anonymousreply 66April 9, 2020 7:27 PM

Joe seems like he wouldn't mind a good pounding. Just don't tell anybody.

by Anonymousreply 67April 9, 2020 8:41 PM

I loved Beni’s hair. I’m sure I will be alone on that.

And I loved super gay Joe with his pressed white shirt under his sweatshirt and his love of musicals.

by Anonymousreply 68April 9, 2020 11:59 PM

Joe needs wardrobe guidance. Send him to me.

by Anonymousreply 69April 10, 2020 12:06 AM

Wonder what Beni's hair looks like now that he's been in quarantine a couple of weeks..... Good for Joe.

by Anonymousreply 70April 10, 2020 12:23 AM

Joe deserves to have his pic poster here

by Anonymousreply 71April 10, 2020 12:46 AM

Joe is adorable.

by Anonymousreply 72April 10, 2020 1:01 AM

Great game today!

Musical queen Joe was very handsome. I love clean cut guys like him.
I loved Beni’s hair. I’m sure I will be alone on that.

At first I thought he was weird looking, but Beni is so adorable!

He had such a sweet personality, and he's a very smart kid.

Beni would have won, if it wasn't for those horrible Daily Doubles.

I hope he makes it to the Semi-Finals.

by Anonymousreply 73April 10, 2020 2:59 AM

I got the impression that Beni is a mixed-race person, but really couldn't figure out which races is that might be? Final was a giveaway. Was no one else shocked that none of them could find Key West on a map???

by Anonymousreply 74April 10, 2020 3:07 AM

Had anyone else heard of Hendrix College?

by Anonymousreply 75April 10, 2020 3:36 PM

R75 Ha... I was fascinated and did some research. Very small Liberal Arts college connected to the United Methodist Church (but traced to the Southern Methodist... the southerners who wouldn't let go of slavery), 1200 students. Surprisingly rated 98th Liberal Arts college in American by US News Reports.

by Anonymousreply 76April 10, 2020 3:40 PM

I guess they're going to have a gay twink on every episode of the college tournament?

Neat.

by Anonymousreply 77April 10, 2020 8:51 PM

Even before the college twinks, there was an unusually long stretch of shows with hot and possibly gay men. Well done, Jeopardy producers!

by Anonymousreply 78April 10, 2020 9:40 PM

I have met straight men who like Broadway shows.

by Anonymousreply 79April 10, 2020 10:24 PM

Is there a Jeopardy casting couch?

by Anonymousreply 80April 10, 2020 10:26 PM

I think today's contestant Nibir may be on the gay side. He's kind of cute.

by Anonymousreply 81April 10, 2020 11:12 PM

Both of them had gay voice to me - kind of funny with the Liberty University gal in the middle like that!

by Anonymousreply 82April 11, 2020 3:00 AM

I think it may be the first ever all-gay semi-final.

by Anonymousreply 83April 11, 2020 3:13 AM

R73 Beni was NOT adorable in any way. He looked like Malachi from Children of the Corn but with a jew-fro.

by Anonymousreply 84April 11, 2020 3:14 AM

I hate that bitch Natalie from the right wing Christian, Liberty University. The old people at the nursing home were REALLY her friends! You know she was proselytizing to the nearly dead trying to "save" them.

by Anonymousreply 85April 11, 2020 3:41 AM

Glad she lost as well.

by Anonymousreply 86April 11, 2020 4:15 AM

The semi finals are going to be a gay old time!

Go, Marshall!

by Anonymousreply 87April 11, 2020 7:28 AM

Between the gay guys on Jeopardy tonight and the gay guy winning on Wheel of Fortune, Friday night Gay Days at the Game Shows.

by Anonymousreply 88April 11, 2020 9:53 AM

I feared that the Liberty gal was going to win. Turns out that the Bible was her only strong suit.

by Anonymousreply 89April 11, 2020 1:02 PM

For the first time in a LONG time, I am looking forward to the College Championship Week of Jeopardy!!!

Don't let us down, boys!

by Anonymousreply 90April 11, 2020 1:56 PM

R50 Art Flaming!! Brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 91April 11, 2020 6:57 PM

^^ I don't get it. ^^

by Anonymousreply 92April 12, 2020 1:54 AM

R90: I know, right? She swept the “Deuteronomy” category but fizzled after that. Loved her FJ answer: writ of centuri! instead of quid pro quo,

by Anonymousreply 93April 12, 2020 2:53 AM

Quid Pro Quo was so obvious. It was the ONLY possible answer if you've been keeping up with the news in even the slightest way. I guess these college kids are to involved in their own world to stay abreast of national news.

by Anonymousreply 94April 12, 2020 3:18 AM

I missed quid pro quo. But it really was so obvious.

by Anonymousreply 95April 12, 2020 3:25 AM
Art Flaming!! Brilliant. —Laughing so hard I sharted
^^ I don't get it. ^^

Art Flaming is a play on the name Art Fleming, who was the original host of Jeopardy!

R90 Please look at R51...I caught it right away but responded to the wrong link!

by Anonymousreply 98April 12, 2020 4:12 PM

Yes, but…Art Flaming has been posting here for a long time. I still don't get it.

by Anonymousreply 99April 13, 2020 1:01 AM

What is there not to get, R99? Art Fleming was a long time host for Jeopardy! back at the beginning, before Alex. Art Flaming is a gay-inspired name that is a clever play on the name of the prior host. It isn't rocket science...although, apparently, it may be beyond your tenuous grasp on word play.

by Anonymousreply 100April 13, 2020 4:56 AM

Maybe that's not what R99 is not getting. Maybe it's the fact that "Art Flaming has been posting here for time" and NOW somebody notices the joke after all this time.

Whatever. Anyway, Tyler & Beni the quirky hair guy are competing on today's show.

But get ready for tomorrow when Joe the music queen goes up against Nabir.

by Anonymousreply 101April 13, 2020 12:39 PM

I haven't had this much attention since I wore only one flip flop in a sleeping bag.

I'm indifferent to Tyler, although I'm happy he won over the girl who needs a personality transplant. HATE her!

by Anonymousreply 121April 14, 2020 2:58 AM

by Anonymousreply 131April 15, 2020 3:32 AM

by Anonymousreply 132April 15, 2020 3:38 AM

The final is shaping up to be a good contest!

by Anonymousreply 140April 15, 2020 2:25 PM

I laughed at that too, R140.

He sounded like a total hick, calling a violin a "fiddle."

by Anonymousreply 141April 15, 2020 6:11 PM

R141, that’s a little harsh. I found that charming. Violins are called fiddles in the bluegrass context.

by Anonymousreply 142April 15, 2020 6:30 PM

Okay, sorry R142.

I laughed because I did find it funny that such a young guy would call a violin a fiddle.

However, it was also charming and cute at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 143April 15, 2020 6:32 PM

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO....Marshall! That FJ was very hard. In this situation, you were better off going in in third place. He is beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 144April 15, 2020 10:30 PM

Marshall will always have a place in my boudoir. Doesn’t he look just like young Dick Grayson? Gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 145April 15, 2020 11:58 PM

Wow, that was a surprise. I was sure it was going to be between Nathaniel and Marshall. Maybe it was when Nathaniel reached out and touched Marshall that it ended for both of them.

by Anonymousreply 146April 16, 2020 12:00 AM

The TX dude really shat the bed. What an idiot 🙄🙄🙄

by Anonymousreply 147April 16, 2020 2:18 AM

Deeply disappointing that Marshall is a huge fan of Hamilton and especially Lin Manuel Miranda.

by Anonymousreply 148April 16, 2020 2:35 AM

Team Nibir.

by Anonymousreply 149April 16, 2020 2:35 AM

I'm so bummed about this Jeopardy final.

I don't like any of the final three contestants, and probably won't watch.

I really don't care who wins.

Marshall should have been in that final.

by Anonymousreply 150April 16, 2020 2:58 AM

The producers gave that shitty question on purpose, just to fuck up the two guys in the lead.

Fucking twats.

That girl doesn't deserve to be in the final.

by Anonymousreply 151April 16, 2020 3:00 AM

Marshall looked so good tonight, even while fidgeting. I thought Nathaniel would win, but FJ was so hard. I had no idea. I'm betting on Nibir now.

by Anonymousreply 152April 16, 2020 3:02 AM

That FJ was ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 153April 16, 2020 5:44 AM

R142 is correct. R141 suffers from Dunning Kruger effect.

by Anonymousreply 154April 16, 2020 7:02 AM

I hope the two games coming up are good.....and close...... If not, after tonight's game, I probably won't bother with the final one.

I can read about it here.....and be more entertained.

by Anonymousreply 155April 16, 2020 2:07 PM

I won't be watching.

No Marshall, no Joe, no deal.

I've lost all interest.

Btw, what's coming up next week? Has Jeopardy! run out of original programming?

by Anonymousreply 156April 16, 2020 4:25 PM

Babe Ruth may be one of the worst non-Watson responses ever.

by Anonymousreply 157April 16, 2020 4:27 PM
Babe Ruth may be one of the worst non-Watson responses ever.

She's from China.

If she didn't know the damned answer, then she should have just shut her stupid mouth.

by Anonymousreply 158April 16, 2020 4:39 PM

Any shirtless pics of Marshall on social media?

by Anonymousreply 159April 16, 2020 4:40 PM

R159, There is one on his Instagram page.

by Anonymousreply 160April 16, 2020 4:48 PM

by Anonymousreply 161April 16, 2020 4:51 PM

R160 Ha. "Yes, I know how to spell Kanine"

by Anonymousreply 162April 16, 2020 4:55 PM

Well, I will be watching since I have no problem rooting for both Tyler (who looks like a younger version of a nerdy guy I once dated) and gay-voice Nabir.

by Anonymousreply 163April 16, 2020 6:15 PM

Well.....at least Babe Ruth WAS a baseball player......she didn't say Mickey Mantle.....

by Anonymousreply 164April 16, 2020 8:39 PM

......wow.....I messed that up......I meant....

.....at least she didn't say Joe Namath......

by Anonymousreply 165April 16, 2020 8:40 PM

I am so attracted to Nibir. I want him to ravish me all night long.

by Anonymousreply 166April 16, 2020 11:58 PM

I like listening to Nibir's voice. But I knew he was going to lose $$ for "Soul Sister" and not saying "hey".

by Anonymousreply 167April 17, 2020 1:21 AM

I normally would never say this about anyone, but Nibir has attractive hands/fingers.

by Anonymousreply 168April 17, 2020 1:22 AM

I got FJ.

by Anonymousreply 169April 17, 2020 1:50 AM

R169, you got herpes too.

by Anonymousreply 170April 17, 2020 1:53 AM

Team Nibir.

by Anonymousreply 171April 17, 2020 7:29 AM

R170, jealous?

by Anonymousreply 172April 17, 2020 7:30 AM

Nibir played a good game.....the others only fair, but they were competitive. He has a huge lead that will be difficult to overcome.....I will be watching tonight.

I knew FJ, but I think they've asked that question before - maybe as a regular question.....

by Anonymousreply 173April 17, 2020 3:14 PM

Yes, it seemed familiar to me, too, r173

by Anonymousreply 174April 17, 2020 6:36 PM

Does Nibir need a boyfriend?

by Anonymousreply 175April 17, 2020 11:58 PM

I suspect that after today, the answer would be no.

by Anonymousreply 176April 18, 2020 12:21 AM

Go Nibir!

by Anonymousreply 177April 18, 2020 2:23 AM

Yay, Nabir!

Glad he won. The girl was a complete waste of space.

by Anonymousreply 178April 18, 2020 2:47 AM

Good game. They all did well, but Nibir rocked.

by Anonymousreply 179April 18, 2020 3:00 AM

Nibir was totally calm, cool and collected throughout the entire tournament.

I think the prize money is too low for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

by Anonymousreply 180April 18, 2020 3:17 AM

Yes, he was a machine. In a good way.

by Anonymousreply 181April 18, 2020 12:17 PM

Gay sizemeat!

by Anonymousreply 182April 18, 2020 12:24 PM

Good job Nibir! It was a good game with a foregone conclusion.

Did Nibir write the correct answer on FJ and then cross it out? I thought I saw that. I guessed at the answer and I must have read that when I was working on a production of Pippin - because I got it right!

by Anonymousreply 183April 18, 2020 1:46 PM

Nabir deserves to have his picture up here

by Anonymousreply 184April 18, 2020 1:52 PM

Yes. Nabir crossed out the correct answer.

by Anonymousreply 185April 18, 2020 8:03 PM

For once, a college tournament that was actually fun and engaging!

by Anonymousreply 186April 18, 2020 9:33 PM

Agreed Johnny. This was an enjoyable tournament.

by Anonymousreply 187April 18, 2020 9:56 PM

Nibir's parents and younger brother were in the audience. They should have at least shown them, if bringing them onstage was not doable.

by Anonymousreply 188April 18, 2020 10:48 PM

R188, how much younger?

by Anonymousreply 189April 18, 2020 10:55 PM

Nibir is cute as hell, but he pings to me.

by Anonymousreply 190April 19, 2020 7:44 AM

^but?

by Anonymousreply 191April 19, 2020 7:54 AM

I have a crush on Andrew.

by Anonymousreply 192April 20, 2020 8:40 PM

And a cameo by DL fave Steve Kornacki!

by Anonymousreply 193April 20, 2020 8:45 PM

Jeopardy Teen and College tournaments are turning into the National Spelling Bee.

If you know what I mean.

by Anonymousreply 194April 20, 2020 8:56 PM

R194, we have no idea what you mean.

by Anonymousreply 195April 20, 2020 9:50 PM

For you, R195.

by Anonymousreply 196April 20, 2020 9:52 PM

R196, you’re referring to people of color? I was thinking that the college tournament was pretty white. Interesting how people see things differently.

by Anonymousreply 197April 20, 2020 9:56 PM

Am I the only one who heard Andrew answer "Shiner" for one of the questions instead of the correct answer "Shriner"?

I played it back to see if that's what I heard, and I was correct.

I thought for sure when they returned from the commercial break, Alex was going to say the judges heard him misstate the answer and deduct his score, but he got away with it.

by Anonymousreply 198April 21, 2020 12:43 AM

I definitely heard him say "Shiner".

Andrew won by default. I don't see him having a third game.

FJ was super easy.

by Anonymousreply 199April 21, 2020 12:47 AM

I love Andrew.

"Let's Dance!"

by Anonymousreply 200April 21, 2020 3:16 AM

I thought tall Ben was cute. Hard questions tonight.

by Anonymousreply 201April 21, 2020 3:20 AM

Could that gnome's story of locking herself in a hotel room have been any dumber?

Ben could have been the new champ if he had wagered intelligently.

by Anonymousreply 202April 21, 2020 3:54 AM

For whom does Andrew ping?

by Anonymousreply 203April 21, 2020 3:55 AM

Shiner. Not sure why they didn’t DING him.

by Anonymousreply 204April 21, 2020 5:21 AM

Alex gave away half of the Victoria Falls answer to two contestants after telling the other one that Zimbabwe was only one of the counties.

by Anonymousreply 205April 21, 2020 7:40 AM
Alex gave away half of the Victoria Falls answer to two contestants after telling the other one that Zimbabwe was only one of the counties.

I noticed that, too. Very unfair.

Alex is really slipping.

by Anonymousreply 206April 21, 2020 7:43 AM

I cringed so hard when Alex tried to make a joke when he spoke with Sidra! 😬

by Anonymousreply 207April 21, 2020 8:41 PM

I couldn't get FJ. Gary is a whiz.

by Anonymousreply 208April 22, 2020 3:03 AM

R208, He was, but he appeared visibly nervous throughout the game.

by Anonymousreply 209April 22, 2020 2:53 PM

Gary is from the town I live in. If he goes far, the place will EXPLODE.

by Anonymousreply 210April 22, 2020 4:45 PM

On today’s show, there’s a hot funeral director.

Yes, Michael is to die for! 😍

by Anonymousreply 212April 22, 2020 8:34 PM

Michael is also the president of his town! I wonder if he is in need of a first lady.

by Anonymousreply 213April 22, 2020 8:42 PM

Alex joking with Michael about dead people voting was odd, given his situation.

No one knew "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" or Tim Russert?

by Anonymousreply 214April 23, 2020 12:35 AM

middle guy Michael was a handsome piece.

by Anonymousreply 215April 23, 2020 12:37 AM

I wanted Michael to win!

However, seeing as how Final Jeopardy was the easiest one EVER, it's clear that the show wanted the Canadian frau to win.

The clue was foreign country elections, and it stated that in 2014 there was a "record turnout" of 500 million people, in this "democratic country."

There were only two possibilities for that, since only China and India have over 500 million people.

Duh, I wonder which one it could be?

Fucking WORST Final Jeopardy question ever!

by Anonymousreply 216April 23, 2020 3:10 AM

Gary is smart, but guessed Russia.

by Anonymousreply 217April 23, 2020 3:12 AM

Yes, Final was obvious with the 500 million people.

Really liked the woman (Sharon?). She made an impressive comeback.

by Anonymousreply 218April 23, 2020 10:13 AM

Was it my imagination or did Michael look a little uncomfortable shaking Gary's hand at the end of the game? (He was looking down and wasn't even looking at him)

by Anonymousreply 219April 23, 2020 12:42 PM

The hand shaking between players after the game is a fairly recent ritual. In the past, contestants barely acknowledged each other during the closing credits.

by Anonymousreply 220April 23, 2020 2:10 PM

My understanding is that the show tells contestants NOT to shake hands after the match.

In years past, contestants were good about following that edict, but in the past year or so, they've been ignoring it more often.

Frankly, it just looks better when the contestants shake hands. Signals "good game" and "no hard feelings." When they don't shake hands, it always seems to signal that there's something wrong, some bad feelings between contestants, someone is a sore loser or a stuck up winner.

Now in a coronavirus world, shaking hands will be verboten.

by Anonymousreply 221April 23, 2020 2:40 PM

Kanadian Karen is the winner.....you know after the game, she asked to speak to the manager.

by Anonymousreply 222April 23, 2020 2:50 PM

Re the hand shaking, didn't a winning contestant within the past couple of months hug one or both of the other contestants?

by Anonymousreply 223April 23, 2020 5:40 PM
Re the hand shaking, didn't a winning contestant within the past couple of months hug one or both of the other contestants?

Probably, but the show so far has been recorded since way before the coronavirus…unpleasantness.

by Anonymousreply 224April 23, 2020 6:35 PM

I wonder if champ Sharon Lawson is related to Helen?

by Anonymousreply 225April 23, 2020 7:35 PM

It seems likely, as Sharon was adopted, and Helen abandoned her unwanted children across North America as she traveled the road show circuit.

by Anonymousreply 226April 23, 2020 7:46 PM

Oohhh I like nerdy zaddy Tim.

by Anonymousreply 227April 23, 2020 8:32 PM

R227, Love his ears.

by Anonymousreply 228April 24, 2020 11:25 AM

Final was obvious again. Japan was really the only thing it could be.

by Anonymousreply 229April 24, 2020 1:41 PM

R229, I guessed Israel, but I’m weak on history.

by Anonymousreply 230April 24, 2020 1:46 PM
I guessed Israel, but I’m weak on history.

And weak on geography too, it appears. The clue said "The first Asian to accept the Nobel Peace Prize was the PM of this country who in 1967 renounced use of nuclear weapons."

Israel isn't in Asia. It's in the Mid-East.

by Anonymousreply 231April 24, 2020 2:47 PM

R231, Israel is absolutely in Asia. The Mid-East isn’t a continent.

by Anonymousreply 232April 24, 2020 3:05 PM

What’s going to happen when they run out of episodes? What will Alex do? I hope he doesn’t die in the pause.

by Anonymousreply 233April 24, 2020 4:33 PM

From today's New York Post . . .

The last day to watch a new episode of “Jeopardy!” is May 1, according to an announcement on Twitter.

by Anonymousreply 234April 24, 2020 7:26 PM

Starting May 4th, they're going to re-air the Greatest of all Time tournament and also Ken Jennings first and last episode as a regular contestant. I wish they would re-air his entire 70 game run since I didn't see it the first time around.

by Anonymousreply 235April 24, 2020 9:16 PM

Alex's 80th birthday will be in July of this year. The fact that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer early 2019 and he is still alive and functioning today is a minor miracle. His treatments did make a difference for the time being. I hope he gets to celebrate his 80th birthday.

by Anonymousreply 236April 24, 2020 10:32 PM

His wig is looking so much better than the previous one.

by Anonymousreply 237April 25, 2020 1:28 AM

There's something especially annoying about someone who corrects someone who is already correct.

by Anonymousreply 238April 25, 2020 7:48 AM

I missed the last two episodes, it gets preempted by the Jersey 4 Jersey benefit concert (good cause) and the NFL draft (questionable).

by Anonymousreply 239April 25, 2020 4:15 PM

I'm on the west coast and it got preempted Thursday and Friday for the NFL draft. I couldnt care less about football or the stupid draft. Give me my Jeopardy!

by Anonymousreply 240April 25, 2020 4:23 PM

R239 - The episodes were shown early this morning (like around 3:30 ish).

by Anonymousreply 241April 25, 2020 5:57 PM

by Anonymousreply 244April 28, 2020 12:22 AM

She realized the stupidity of that answer right after saying it because she put her hands in the air, as if to say to herself, "What an IDIOT!"

by Anonymousreply 245April 28, 2020 1:35 AM

I had the same reaction to Final that Sarah did. I knew it was either Grant or McClellan but went with Grant because he was the more famous of the two. In hindsight, I should have picked McClellan simply because of the 1862 date. Grant didn't assume command of the Union army until 1864.

This is one of the shows they filmed without a studio audience. The one shot of the audience was a tight shot of Sarah's daughter surrounded presumably by a few friends/family of the contestants and/or contestants for later in the week.

by Anonymousreply 246April 28, 2020 10:31 AM

The champ is a flake.

by Anonymousreply 247April 28, 2020 4:45 PM

Why is Mina yelling at us?

by Anonymousreply 248April 28, 2020 11:46 PM

The pen wouldn’t write the A? Bless her heart.

by Anonymousreply 249April 29, 2020 12:03 AM

I was wondering the same thing, R248.

It was a little jarring to hear Alex mention "the Battle of" the O.K. Corral instead of "the Gunfight at. . ." - especially since the actual event lasted only about 30 seconds.

by Anonymousreply 250April 29, 2020 12:33 AM

All three were somewhere on the spectrum. And no eye candy for me. 1/10

by Anonymousreply 251April 29, 2020 3:05 AM

I got FJ right away, but I'm a major movie buff.

At least "Ben Hur" was a 1950s film, but "The Grapes of Wrath"?

by Anonymousreply 252April 29, 2020 3:48 AM

Watching on 4/29 -- Is it me or does this chick Anastasia has some seriously sloping shoulders.

by Anonymousreply 253April 29, 2020 11:10 PM

I completely blanked on Final. As did two of the three contestants. Was rooting for Kevin. Sorry he lost.

I'm still scratching my head over new champ Jesse saying he had a wife. Shouldn't that have been husband?

by Anonymousreply 254May 1, 2020 5:41 AM

FJ was hopelessly hard for me. I was soooo tired of Sarah and her nattering.

by Anonymousreply 255May 1, 2020 5:45 AM

Why did Thursday's show have a studio audience and Tuesday's did not?

by Anonymousreply 256May 1, 2020 8:28 AM

I was surprised about Jesse having a wife as well.

Tonight's new male contestant seems pleasant enough

by Anonymousreply 258May 1, 2020 12:37 PM

by Anonymousreply 259May 1, 2020 5:13 PM

R259, According to Johnny Gilbert at R246, it did not.

by Anonymousreply 260May 1, 2020 6:29 PM

The publicity said they were filming without a studio audience beginning the week of March 9. And then the had to shutdown production because of the coronavirus lockdown starting the week of March 16.

Given that next week they are repeating the Greatest of All Time tournament with Brad, Ken and James that aired on ABC in January, that suggests they are out of new episodes. I mean, repeat episodes during May sweeps? Clearly out of new episodes.

The point is, the episodes we're seeing this week seem to be the ones that were filmed that week of March 9 which was supposed to be without an audience.

I was startled by that audience shot during Thursday's show as well. They had so very clearly been avoiding an audience shot on Monday and Wednesday's shows (the show has at least one audience shot every episode, usually two or three shots). And that tight audience shot on Tuesday's show was just of 6-8 people (likely family/friends of contestants).

My guess is either that Thursday's audience shot was a quick shot of a previous show's audience. Or they got all the crew and contestants to sit in those seats specifically for that shot. (Things like that are known to happen).

Or perhaps they really did pull in an audience despite saying they'd tape without one. Maybe they found the game didn't feel right without an audience so after the lunch break, they rounded up people to sit there. Plenty of people on the Sony lot they could have grabbed to sit in the audience.

by Anonymousreply 261May 1, 2020 7:39 PM

Anyone else notice that Monday's 2004 repeat of Ken Jennings first show seemed to be sped up slightly. Everyone's voices seemed slgihtly off, especially Alex.

I presume this speeding up was because the 2004 ran slightly longer than a 2020 show would. Thus, they sped it up slightly to fit the full episode in without cutting anything.

by Anonymousreply 262May 5, 2020 2:31 PM

I thought the tournament was next?

Didn’t watch since I did not want to see smug Jennings again.

by Anonymousreply 263May 5, 2020 4:57 PM

Jennings introduced last night's 2004 game and then proceeded to name the winner of the GOAT Tournament which begins airing tonight.

So much for those who hadn't seen it.

by Anonymousreply 264May 5, 2020 5:03 PM
Anyone else notice that Monday's 2004 repeat of Ken Jennings first show seemed to be sped up slightly. Everyone's voices seemed slgihtly off, especially Alex.

I thought that exact thing. It was kind of…jarring.

by Anonymousreply 265May 5, 2020 5:59 PM

I think it might have been sped up because there were less commercials per half hour back when Ken Jennings first started as opposed to now.

So they had to move things along to fit in the whole episode.

A little faster and it would've sounded like a Chip 'n' Dale cartoon.

by Anonymousreply 266May 6, 2020 1:00 AM

If Megan had bet zero(0), she would have been co-champion with forgetful Ben.

by Anonymousreply 267May 19, 2020 6:45 AM

I was sure Jesse would win again. I don't think Ben will be around for long.

by Anonymousreply 268May 19, 2020 6:54 AM
If Megan had bet zero(0), she would have been co-champion with forgetful Ben.

They don't seem to have co-champions any more. A year or so ago, two contestants tied and one was somehow eliminated by some kind of screwy point system or something. Does anyone remember the details of that?

by Anonymousreply 269May 19, 2020 1:06 PM

When they had that tie game a year or so ago, they did a quick showdown question to determine the winner. Whoever buzzed in first with the correct answer won.

It seemed awkward and unfair.

by Anonymousreply 270May 19, 2020 1:32 PM

Final was easy because of the wording. "... is Article 6 of these."

If the answer was the Constitution, the phrasing would have been "Article 6 of this."

Since it said "these" it was obvious it was the Articles of Confederation.

Only other possible answer was the Bill of Rights, which doesn't have Articles, it has Amendments.

by Anonymousreply 271May 19, 2020 1:35 PM

Are they back with new shows?

by Anonymousreply 272May 19, 2020 2:18 PM

yes

by Anonymousreply 273May 19, 2020 2:21 PM

"What is Lord of the Fries?"

by Anonymousreply 274May 20, 2020 1:29 AM

by Anonymousreply 276May 20, 2020 4:13 AM

I thought FJ was pretty easy. But I'm old enough to remember the Disney version of Swiss Family Robinson; didn't know that the family in the novel had only sons.

by Anonymousreply 277May 20, 2020 1:07 PM

I guessed Swiss Family Robinson, but didn't know the family name came from Robinson Crusoe.

by Anonymousreply 278May 20, 2020 2:28 PM

by Anonymousreply 286May 23, 2020 1:10 AM

Morgan and Alex were bumping elbows during the closing credits rather than shaking hands.

by Anonymousreply 287May 23, 2020 2:42 AM

R287 So they are new shows, filmed after lock down? The players' podia are not even 6 feet from each other, and Alex (a very high risk demographic) is shaking hands with them.

by Anonymousreply 288May 23, 2020 2:47 AM

R288, That was my point, Alex was not shaking hands with them. However, the contestants were seen shaking hands with each other.

by Anonymousreply 289May 23, 2020 3:26 AM

Oy vey! So many answers missed. including the Declaration of Independence!!! And the year Nixon resigned!

And Final was so easy. At least the Connecticut answer had the georgraphy portion correction -- Connecticut does border three other states -- even if both forgot Yale is there.

by Anonymousreply 290May 23, 2020 5:58 AM

I got FJ, but missed a lot of the others. Connecticut should have been crossed off their mental lists in a few seconds.

by Anonymousreply 296May 26, 2020 11:37 PM

Easiest FJ in recent memory on Wednesday.

by Anonymousreply 297June 4, 2020 1:49 PM

I'm Team Ben all the way.

Meggie is beyond annoying.

by Anonymousreply 298June 4, 2020 3:07 PM

A FJ as easy as that and no one got it?

by Anonymousreply 299June 4, 2020 11:57 PM

I’m so embarrassed for them. Does no one watch Lawrence of Arabia anymore?

by Anonymousreply 300June 5, 2020 12:05 AM

This is why kids aren't getting a proper education. Alex seemed appalled that no one got it right.

by Anonymousreply 301June 5, 2020 2:00 PM

Next week is the last week of all-new Jeopardy episodes... I hope Alex will be able to return when they resume taping.

by Anonymousreply 303June 6, 2020 12:05 AM

by Anonymousreply 304June 6, 2020 12:14 AM

Good game, although FJ was easy.

by Anonymousreply 305June 6, 2020 5:55 AM

That ex-champ doctor is straight?? Come now. Think the new champ is gay, too.

by Anonymousreply 306June 10, 2020 2:12 PM

Nice comeback for the new slick champ.

by Anonymousreply 307June 10, 2020 5:35 PM

Zack has a nice smile; Steve has a nice voice; Joanna has Rosie O's square grin/grimace thing.

Good game.

by Anonymousreply 308June 11, 2020 3:23 AM

Zach is a very cute cookie smeller.

by Anonymousreply 309June 11, 2020 11:24 AM

Raise your hand if you think Zach ditched his wife and went cruising at the nude beach.

by Anonymousreply 310June 11, 2020 11:40 PM

Color me shocked when, who I’ve been referring to “cute gay Zach” mentioned a “wife”.

by Anonymousreply 311June 11, 2020 11:43 PM

Parachuting beavers!

by Anonymousreply 312June 11, 2020 11:52 PM

I knew FJ immediately.

Aren't I special?

by Anonymousreply 313June 11, 2020 11:59 PM

How could they not know "Nano Nano" and/or "Book 'em Danno"?

by Anonymousreply 314June 12, 2020 12:02 AM

Yes I was also shocked that Zach had a wife.

I was also surprised that the woman who was far ahead in 2nd place bet everything and ended up in 3rd place, getting $1000 instead of the $2000 she would have gotten had she bet nothing.

by Anonymousreply 315June 12, 2020 12:39 AM

I figured out Final about 2 seconds before time ended. If I'd been playing the game, I wouldn't have had time to write it down!

I like Zach a lot, but was also surprised when he mentioned a wife and a babymoon.

by Anonymousreply 316June 12, 2020 7:19 AM

A lot of silent moments when no one buzzed in, and Alex seemed surprised they couldn't get the answer.

by Anonymousreply 317June 12, 2020 4:52 PM

Their youth was showing in a lot of the questions. They were probably not born during Mork and Mindy.

I guessed FJ too. Didn't seem difficult to me. And I'm not that bright.

by Anonymousreply 318June 12, 2020 6:54 PM

Zach is just the cutest. I want to wrap him up in a burrito and eat him.

Why was Alex implying that FJ was between Morrison and Angelou, if the latter died in 2014? Does he think Oprah would only have praised one of the two of them?

by Anonymousreply 319June 12, 2020 11:59 PM

Wondered the same thing. The date of Morrison's death made her the obvious answer (question).

by Anonymousreply 320June 13, 2020 1:44 PM

Zach, again with the wife.

by Anonymousreply 321June 13, 2020 2:42 PM

Did anyone else find Matt sexy as hell?

by Anonymousreply 322June 13, 2020 2:43 PM

Yes, Matt was just my type. Except for the theatrical prayer.

by Anonymousreply 323June 13, 2020 5:58 PM

This game show host turns 80 today.

by Anonymousreply 328July 22, 2020 6:36 AM

Are they speeding these early episodes up to allow more more commercial breaks or something? The pace seems so frantic.

by Anonymousreply 329July 22, 2020 6:42 AM

R329, And the "questions" seem so easy.

by Anonymousreply 330July 22, 2020 10:13 AM

Each afternoon, BUZZR airs editions of "Classic Concentration" that Alex was hosting in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

by Anonymousreply 331July 22, 2020 10:16 AM

Yes, Alex was talking faster and louder back in the 1980s. I almost forgot that it was they way game show hosts talked back then. They were trying to cram the whole show in the 30 minutes and that was the only way to do it effectively.

by Anonymousreply 332July 22, 2020 10:58 AM

These classic episodes definitely sound speeded up slightly, presumably to get the entire game in while also accommodating the extra commercial time shows have in 2020.

We noticed the same thing back in May when they reran Ken Jennings first episode from 2004.

by Anonymousreply 333July 22, 2020 11:40 AM

Speaking of Ken Jennings, did anyone else notice that the promos for Alex's new book say that the Audible version is read by Alex and Ken Jennings? Is that a sign he's the replacement waiting in the wings?

by Anonymousreply 334July 23, 2020 12:48 AM

I was wondering if the episodes were sped up as well.

It's not just a matter of Alex talking faster, but his voice sounds funny as well, as if it's distorted.

by Anonymousreply 335July 23, 2020 1:05 AM

I also thought the questions are WAY easier than they are now.

by Anonymousreply 336July 23, 2020 1:07 AM

The champ really thought Emily Dickinson was alive in 1965?

by Anonymousreply 339September 15, 2020 11:55 PM

I didn't think spelling mattered: Barry/Berry. Not that she would have won.

by Anonymousreply 340September 16, 2020 3:17 AM

Berry Gordy is the biological father of Diana Ross' eldest daughter.

by Anonymousreply 341September 16, 2020 3:31 AM
I didn't think spelling mattered: Barry/Berry. Not that she would have won.

Yeah, what the hell was THAT about? Phonetically, Barry and Berry are the same, and if the question had been answered orally it would have been accepted, so WTF? Spelling has never mattered before.

by Anonymousreply 342September 16, 2020 1:46 PM
Spelling has never mattered before.

Except - that wasn't a simple spelling error.

That was getting the first name wrong.

by Anonymousreply 343September 16, 2020 1:53 PM

R342, No, the vowel sounds are not the same.

by Anonymousreply 344September 16, 2020 11:00 PM

How annoying was Kelly the "actress"?

Very!

by Anonymousreply 345September 17, 2020 3:11 AM

Yes, spelling has never mattered in Final before.

The difference in sound between Barry and Berry is minimal.

She clearly knew the correct answer. Should have given it to her.

by Anonymousreply 346September 17, 2020 8:39 AM

Show certainly feels different without an audience. You just don't feel the excitement of the game without the audience in attendance. Yes, they have the recorded applause, but its not the same.

by Anonymousreply 347September 17, 2020 8:41 AM

The answer is: This person hasn't been seen or heard from since April 10, 2020.

by Anonymousreply 348September 17, 2020 5:52 PM

by Anonymousreply 353September 17, 2020 11:29 PM

Okay, so WTF was up with THAT? Sarah very clearly did NOT form the very last answer as a question ("Sirius/XM Radio,") but SHE WASN'T PENALIZED!! "Well, that's an unusual way of phrasing your response, but it is correct, it's Sirius/XM Radio," said Alex. And this was hot on the heels of a contestant who lost earlier in the week because she wrote "Barry" Gordy instead of "Berry."

Let's establish some rules here. folks.

by Anonymousreply 357September 22, 2020 5:17 AM

R357, That Sarah response was downright weird. I played it back twice to make sure I heard it correctly.

by Anonymousreply 358September 22, 2020 10:27 AM

Mr. Cocoa . . . Please come home!

by Anonymousreply 359September 22, 2020 10:29 AM

Generally, Alex says, "In the form of a question, please," to get the contestants to answer properly.

by Anonymousreply 360September 22, 2020 10:49 AM
Generally, Alex says, "In the form of a question, please," to get the contestants to answer properly.

He only does that in the first round. If the contestant does not answer in the form of a question, he does not remind them and they are penalized.

by Anonymousreply 361September 22, 2020 12:54 PM

My understanding is that they're allowed to get away with forgetting to respond properly during the first round - and in each of those cases, Alex reminds them.

But they are in fact supposed to be penalized if they do it during the second half of the game because I distinctly remember contestant[bold]s[/bold] losing money if they just give the answer without the question.

It's one thing that Alex didn't hear the response as such; it's another that the judges didn't pick up on it and have Alex correct it after the commercial break.

by Anonymousreply 362September 22, 2020 1:45 PM

R344. Actually, in many US dialects, the vowels are the same—for linguists, it’s the marry/merry/Mary (!) test

by Anonymousreply 363September 22, 2020 2:29 PM

My FJ guess was India, like Tyler. That was hard...

The contestant anecdotes seemed particularly awkward tonight, but I'm glad Tyler's high school theater mishap ended with a supportive round of applause which encouraged him to brush himself and get back on that damn stage.

by Anonymousreply 364September 23, 2020 5:38 PM

During the introductions, I mistook Tyler for a lesbian.

Did Reshima seem sedated to anyone else?

by Anonymousreply 365September 23, 2020 7:31 PM

Tyler needs a slap in the face.

by Anonymousreply 366September 23, 2020 9:32 PM

I guessed either India or Thailand so was half right!!

by Anonymousreply 367September 23, 2020 9:48 PM

Robert is handsome and has a great voice. FJ was the easiest in a while. Was it just me or did "Dana Hill" actually look a little like Dana Hill?

by Anonymousreply 385October 5, 2020 10:55 PM

Poor Phillip had a lousy game. Garrett is cute and played very well, but he should have got FJ.

by Anonymousreply 386October 6, 2020 6:02 AM

Puzzling that both men blanked on such an easy FJ. So nice to know that Phillip is into role playing with his brother.

by Anonymousreply 387October 6, 2020 6:21 AM

No mention of wife and kids and no wedding ring. Dare to dream that Phillip is a team member?

by Anonymousreply 388October 6, 2020 9:37 PM

I was wondering about Phillip as well, but I've been wrong about some of the other recent contestants who later mention a GF (like Mason), so who knows.

by Anonymousreply 389October 7, 2020 12:41 AM

by Anonymousreply 396October 9, 2020 6:31 AM

R396, She wasn't the only one to get FJ. Garrett also correctly guessed Hispaniola.

by Anonymousreply 403October 13, 2020 6:02 AM

by Anonymousreply 404October 13, 2020 10:33 AM

I also guessed the cicada.

by Anonymousreply 405October 14, 2020 11:57 AM

When was the last time there was only one player for FJ?

How did Natt even make it to air?

by Anonymousreply 406October 14, 2020 1:19 PM

That contestant in the middle podium was goofy, tedious and annoying. So glad he didn't make it to FJ.

by Anonymousreply 407October 14, 2020 7:20 PM

From HUFFPOST:

"Jeopardy!” contestant Kevin Walsh found himself completely socially distanced from the competition Tuesday ― and it had nothing to do with the game show’s coronavirus safeguards.

Walsh was the only contestant to advance to “Final Jeopardy!” after opposing players Alex Switzky and Natt Supab failed to show a profit in the regular portion.

“The stage looks like a very lonely place right now,” host Alex Trebek said as Walsh stood alone at his podium. “I cannot recall the last time we had only one player in ‘Final Jeopardy'.

by Anonymousreply 408October 14, 2020 7:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 414October 15, 2020 5:08 AM

R413, Indeed. I was picturing him naked as he spoke.

by Anonymousreply 415October 15, 2020 6:53 AM

Kevin had to be one of the most boring champions ever.

by Anonymousreply 416October 16, 2020 7:20 AM

by Anonymousreply 417October 16, 2020 7:23 AM

by Anonymousreply 418October 17, 2020 3:05 AM

by Anonymousreply 422October 21, 2020 3:37 AM

R422, That game was torture to watch with so many non or dumb responses.

The honeymooning lady lawyer champ really shit the marriage bed at the end, deep in the red.

A three day total of just $24K?

by Anonymousreply 423October 21, 2020 4:04 AM

Is it me or have the contestants been kind of lethargic, lately. Also, how do you miss a question about, "The Grapes of Wrath".

by Anonymousreply 426October 22, 2020 2:11 AM

Finally, three bright contestants and a great game. Cole was on fire, but the FJ category was clearly not his strength.

by Anonymousreply 427October 22, 2020 3:07 AM

I dunno, R427, it would seem that as a writer, an FJ category about a writer should have been Cole's greatest strength.

by Anonymousreply 428October 22, 2020 4:32 AM

That's true, I forgot he was a writer. One of the few questions he missed was a Broadway daily double, and I thought maybe plays and movies weren't his thing.

by Anonymousreply 429October 22, 2020 5:27 AM

by Anonymousreply 440November 10, 2020 3:19 AM
Lovely gesture. The Carillon on Parliament Hill plays theme from Jeopardy! in honour of Alex Trebek. RIP.

R439: It was a beautiful gesture on his part.

by Anonymousreply 442November 10, 2020 10:10 AM

R440, Ben has "Andy Cohen eyes".

by Anonymousreply 443November 10, 2020 10:15 AM

Ben should have got FJ.

by Anonymousreply 444November 11, 2020 3:03 AM

It was funny to see Mariah's studied focus on the teleprompter when she read clues about her own career.

by Anonymousreply 445November 12, 2020 12:58 AM

No comments on John, "Jeopardy!" champion for Friday, November 13th? Because I kept picturing him bare chested.

by Anonymousreply 446November 15, 2020 6:26 AM

John looked good in uniform. He's super smart, especially with history, but his Achilles heel may be the arts.

by Anonymousreply 447November 15, 2020 7:21 AM

Here is John all decked out in another uniform . . .

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 448November 15, 2020 1:56 PM

Is he wed? Couldn't tell if he had a ring.

by Anonymousreply 449November 15, 2020 2:40 PM

I looked on Friday, and he wasn't wearing one.

by Anonymousreply 450November 15, 2020 2:41 PM

Surprised John missed FJ. Good game, though. Bold Double Jeopardy wagers by the new champ.

by Anonymousreply 451November 17, 2020 3:44 AM

FJ was so obvious, very surprised that John missed it.

At least we discovered that he is a married father.

by Anonymousreply 452November 17, 2020 4:11 AM

Tougher FJ today, for me at least. Kevin was cute and had a sexy, slow-talker voice.

by Anonymousreply 453November 19, 2020 5:40 AM

Andy was really cute when he was a bit younger.

by Anonymousreply 454November 19, 2020 1:00 PM

by Anonymousreply 455November 19, 2020 5:53 PM

R454, He's not exactly ready for the recycling bin now.

by Anonymousreply 456November 19, 2020 6:14 PM

I find current champ Henry very sexy, even though he's not my physical type of guy.

His breadth of knowledge is quite impressive.

by Anonymousreply 457November 25, 2020 5:34 AM

I’d watch a Ryan/Henry sex tape.

by Anonymousreply 458November 25, 2020 11:38 PM

Ryan is a gay! He got Cher.

The other two gave stupid responses.

by Anonymousreply 459November 25, 2020 11:57 PM

While I'll miss Henry with his BDF and long fingers, I find Ryan's smile to be really sexy.

Plus (as was mentioned above) he got Cher.

That woman at the end was a real idiot for most of the show.

It seemed like she was guessing at most of the responses she gave - just throwing out answers, hoping that they would be correct.

by Anonymousreply 460November 26, 2020 1:06 AM

I like to see Henry in his water polo gear.

by Anonymousreply 461November 26, 2020 5:10 AM

I loved big-dicked Zack.

by Anonymousreply 462November 27, 2020 1:11 AM

The champ is doing great. Gabriel started out well until he got to the first daily double. How could he not know that Toni Morrison wrote The Bluest Eye?

by Anonymousreply 463November 27, 2020 11:58 PM

Great game for Ryan after a slow start: strategic $9000 Daily Double wager (it was an easy question), then nailing FJ, which was insanely difficult.

by Anonymousreply 464November 28, 2020 5:38 AM

Gabriel was insufferable. Glad he lost and that Alex didn’t have to spend what little time he had left dealing with his pomposity. I’ve never had coffee or seen a Star Wars movie. What a douche nozzle.

by Anonymousreply 465November 28, 2020 11:26 PM

Gabriel was a good player, even if he didn't posses the charisma.

by Anonymousreply 466November 30, 2020 6:59 PM

I knew FJ! It seemed easy but I guess those young ‘uns don’t know Monty Python.

by Anonymousreply 467December 1, 2020 12:44 AM

I’m so glad Ryan beat fatass Ben.

by Anonymousreply 468December 1, 2020 2:38 AM

I love Monty Python and still missed FJ. Ryan is an amazing player.

by Anonymousreply 469December 1, 2020 2:59 AM

Me too. FJ was totally baffling for me.

by Anonymousreply 470December 1, 2020 12:45 PM

What a surprising upset victory!

by Anonymousreply 471December 2, 2020 11:58 PM

As someone who loves Melville, I could kick myself for being stumped by FJ.

by Anonymousreply 472December 3, 2020 12:50 AM

I guessed Heathcliff...

by Anonymousreply 473December 3, 2020 2:00 AM

I guessed the Count of Monte Cristo too. Tricky when revenge against a non-human wasn't on my radar...

by Anonymousreply 474December 3, 2020 3:03 AM

What a surprise! The mousy mediocre contestant takes it all. No one was more surprised than she was. I didn't guess Moby either. A great question for FJ.

by Anonymousreply 475December 3, 2020 12:57 PM

I figured Final was about Moby Dick. Between the 1851 publication date and the mention of revenge, that was pretty obvious.

But I blanked on the name of Captain Ahab!

by Anonymousreply 476December 3, 2020 7:29 PM

1851 was a dead giveaway.

by Anonymousreply 477December 4, 2020 6:38 PM

FJ tonight - I was torn between Cyprus and Malta, but ultimately chose Malta.

by Anonymousreply 478December 5, 2020 1:12 AM

I too figured Final was either Cyprus or Malta, but I chose Cyprus.

by Anonymousreply 479December 6, 2020 4:31 AM

I chose . . . wisely.

by Anonymousreply 480December 6, 2020 5:05 AM

That was a gutsy late in the game DD by Katherine.

FJ seemed pretty obvious to me.

by Anonymousreply 481December 8, 2020 11:48 AM

Wow. No one guessed "West Side Story" for FJ. Those three should get on DL.

by Anonymousreply 482December 12, 2020 5:51 AM

I was shocked as well. I knew the answer halfway into reading it.

by Anonymousreply 483December 12, 2020 2:00 PM

I knew the hockey-playing lesbian would not get FJ.

by Anonymousreply 484December 12, 2020 4:04 PM

I've just finished watching several episodes back to back. Weird that the show had lesbians in the #3 slot on both Thursday and Friday. I found myself wondering, "Is this the designated lesbian slot?"

Yes, West Side Story was obvious However, I will point out, Broadway has been closed since March and therefore Broadway happenings aren't making the news routinely like they would if normally.

by Anonymousreply 485December 12, 2020 6:02 PM

Contestants lately seem to be less knowledgeable about literature and theater. They’re Philistines.

by Anonymousreply 486December 12, 2020 6:04 PM

How could Wicked be a revival when the original Broadway production is/was still running?

by Anonymousreply 487December 12, 2020 6:12 PM

FJ clue included "Joan Sutherland", and yet only one contestant guessed "Sydney Opera House".

by Anonymousreply 488December 15, 2020 6:12 AM

Not everyone knows he she was . . . or where she was born.

by Anonymousreply 489December 15, 2020 12:25 PM

Name Joan Sutherland means nothing to me.

by Anonymousreply 490December 15, 2020 6:03 PM

Well, Brayden sure recovered nicely from that lame mini-golf story at the start.

by Anonymousreply 491December 16, 2020 3:20 AM

Has there ever been an easier Final Jeopardy question than Tuesday's about O Magazine?

by Anonymousreply 492December 16, 2020 9:00 AM

What kind of mini-golf courses have live alligators nearby?

by Anonymousreply 493December 16, 2020 1:12 PM

I actually thought of Mad Magazine at first. 🙃☺️

by Anonymousreply 494December 16, 2020 4:40 PM

by Anonymousreply 495December 16, 2020 4:40 PM

Whoa . . . How hot was Spencer?

Very!

by Anonymousreply 496December 17, 2020 12:01 AM

I'd love to get lost in the wilderness with Spencer on one of his meandering hikes.

by Anonymousreply 497December 17, 2020 3:57 AM

Teja was handsome and smart. Brayden appears to be unstoppable, super fast on the buzzer and getting all the Daily Doubles, although Rostand tripped him up in FJ.

by Anonymousreply 498December 18, 2020 3:18 AM

Brayden also seems to be enjoying his success more and more. He's at least started to smile now and then.

by Anonymousreply 499December 18, 2020 12:00 PM

Devon = Ron Burgundy

Maybe he can take over as host...

I had no idea for FJ.

by Anonymousreply 500December 19, 2020 3:48 AM

R499, Brayden seems a bit off. He feigns embarrassment when he’s kicking his opponents’ asses.

by Anonymousreply 501December 19, 2020 3:54 AM

I guessed Hallmark for Final because of the reference to envelopes.

by Anonymousreply 502December 19, 2020 11:29 AM

I would have guessed 3M too.

by Anonymousreply 503December 19, 2020 2:33 PM

Normally, watching Jeopardy is one of the ways I unwind from a long day. It's usually very relaxing.

Tuesday's episode was anything but relaxing. It was 15 or more years old and was clearly sped up to get the entire episode in plus all the commericials. But it was so sped up, I felt like I was moving at super speed. I felt more wired and wound up after watching it than I did before I started watching.

If all the episodes from this two week retrospective are sped up like this, I may have to skip it.

by Anonymousreply 504December 23, 2020 10:40 AM

I thought Christmas Day was when they were scheduled to air the last show with Alex Trebek, but they only replayed an older game form years ago.

by Anonymousreply 505January 4, 2021 2:46 PM

That was the original intent, but they moved Trebek's final episodes to this week, with his last appearance being on Friday.

by Anonymousreply 506January 4, 2021 2:49 PM

Show wants high ratings for the final week of Trebek shows, viewership often goes down during the holidays. So they showed repeats for two weeks and are airing his final episodes this week.

by Anonymousreply 507January 4, 2021 8:10 PM

Anyone else finding Jeopardy! Executive Producer Mike Richards sexy as hell?

by Anonymousreply 508January 5, 2021 6:21 AM

I didn't get FJ, even though I've read the book. David really mucked up that $10,000 Daily Double.

by Anonymousreply 509January 5, 2021 6:27 AM

Yeah, poor David. He shouldn't have forgotten the pen.

by Anonymousreply 510January 5, 2021 12:26 PM

Jennings continues to prove his asshole-ness and that he is unfit to lead Jeopardy.

Fuck him.

by Anonymousreply 511January 5, 2021 4:32 PM

Jennings continues to prove his asshole-ness and that he is unfit to lead Jeopardy.

Fuck him.

by Anonymousreply 512January 5, 2021 4:32 PM

FJ was SO hard. I had no idea that Carolus is Latin for Charles.

by Anonymousreply 513January 6, 2021 4:44 AM

Carlos is Spanish for Charles. I've not seen the show, today our local ABC affiliate, was running the Georgia runoff results.

by Anonymousreply 514January 6, 2021 6:51 AM

I guessed FJ correctly, but it was a shot in the dark. Ex-champ looked pretty grumpy at his loss.

by Anonymousreply 515January 6, 2021 12:54 PM

Only reason I guessed North and South Carolina was because of the TWO states and the date.

Had never really thought before about Carolina somehow being a derivative of Charles.

by Anonymousreply 516January 6, 2021 5:47 PM

Can’t believe I missed FJ! I love that movie. I guess I forgot the category.

by Anonymousreply 517January 7, 2021 2:39 AM

As Alex said, another hard FJ. Would never have got it. I like the new champ.

by Anonymousreply 518January 7, 2021 3:52 AM

I initially guessed 1917 for Final, then realized it came out in 2019. I then quickly realized the answer was Wonder Woman. Not sure I would have had enough time to get my answer written down before time was up.

by Anonymousreply 519January 7, 2021 6:47 AM

Just bumping this up because tonight was Alex's last appearance.

by Anonymousreply 520January 9, 2021 1:01 AM

Nice clip montage of Alex at the end of his last show.

by Anonymousreply 521January 9, 2021 8:43 AM

Future trivia question -- What was Alex's final Final Jeopardy question?

by Anonymousreply 522January 9, 2021 10:58 AM

It's too bad Alex's final game was not more competitive.

by Anonymousreply 523January 9, 2021 11:07 AM

Goodbye Alex.

Hopefully they will find someone better to replace you than that smug, unfunny Mormon.

by Anonymousreply 524January 9, 2021 12:26 PM

If you missed it, here is the tribute.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 525January 9, 2021 12:59 PM

Actually, Katie Couric might make a good permanent replacement as long as she reins in the cutesy factor.

by Anonymousreply 526January 9, 2021 1:19 PM

That would be impossible, r526. And please, no Meredith Vierra.

by Anonymousreply 527January 9, 2021 6:19 PM

Well, we get to sample Ken as a host starting tonight.

Wonder if he'll be any better than he was on his new game show The Chase?

by Anonymousreply 528January 11, 2021 7:48 PM

Well I'm not looking forward to Ken.

If it had to be a major Jeopardy player, I'd rather it be Brad Rutter.

by Anonymousreply 529January 11, 2021 9:12 PM

Just watched it here in the Midwest. He’s low energy and his voice is kind of feeble. He’s pleasant enough, but that alone won’t get the job done.

by Anonymousreply 530January 11, 2021 10:12 PM

I thought he did well. Seemed to lose some steam towards the end, but he'll develop the pacing. Nerves might have been a part of that.

Nice tribute he gave to Alex in the beginning.

by Anonymousreply 531January 12, 2021 12:27 AM

Yeah, he wasn’t a complete disaster.

He said nice things about Alex and he seemed to really choke up at times.

It felt like he was sort of rushing but he was alright.

by Anonymousreply 532January 12, 2021 1:19 AM

I though Ken was fine too. Nice suit. The new champ had a great comeback and scored in a very broad range of categories. I love Elvis, but missed FJ.

by Anonymousreply 533January 12, 2021 2:23 AM

Me too. I guess a rudimentary knowledge of Spanish would have helped. Which I do not have.

by Anonymousreply 534January 12, 2021 12:55 PM

I thought Ken did a fine job. He's merely mimicking what Alex did at the moment and he did fine with that. Yes, he seemed to have had a little bit of nerves, but WHO WOULDN'T hosting the first show after Alex's death? I imagine Ken will develop his own style once he gets some shows under his belt.

Ken did a very nice tribute to Alex at first. There was also a nice tribute at the end of end credits.

I imagine Brad Rutter will be given a shot at being guest host. I think Brad will do well as host too. Likely James Holzhauer will get a shot at guest host as well, but I suspect he will be very poor as host.

Final was fairly obvious. I don't speak Spanish, but know enough to know "Viva" means "Live." With the reference to a hit song and movie of the same name in 1964, it didn't take much to figure out it was Viva Las Vegas.

by Anonymousreply 535January 12, 2021 7:39 PM

Lucy is super smart. Nice FJ category for an animal lover. Checkers wasn't a bad guess.

by Anonymousreply 536January 13, 2021 3:17 AM

Very good game! Liked Lucy a lot. Remembering the name of that dog was impressive. Checkers was the only thing I could come up with and I knew that was wrong.

Just heard this morning that [bold]Fudge[/bold] Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be guest hosting Jeopardy at some point.

There, fixed it for you...

by Anonymousreply 540January 14, 2021 4:44 PM

Anyone watching The Chase on ABC on Thursday nights? It's a game show featuring contestants trying to match wits in trivia competitions with Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauser. Show debuted just after the New Year

Each week, one of the three Jeopardy champs goes up against the contestants. So far, Ken and James have gone up against contestants. Presumably, Brad will go next week.

As far as their performance, let's just say that Ken was affable enough, but James came across as a complete jerk.

Any thoughts I had about whether James could be host of Jeopardy were erased after watching him on The Chase.

by Anonymousreply 541January 15, 2021 6:56 PM

I thought Ken was great: the small talk during the contestant chats can be painfully awkward , but he handled it well all week.

by Anonymousreply 542January 16, 2021 6:01 AM

Ken is doing better than I thought he would. He has spent the past year undergoing intensive training to be the host and it appears this has helped him to be a successful host.

That being said, I am looking forward to other guest hosts - especially a fellow alma mater of UC Berkeley, Aaron Rodgers.

by Anonymousreply 543January 17, 2021 12:13 PM

Ken has done remarkably well in following in Alex's footsteps. The producers groomed him well. Definitely a good choice for the first guest host since Alex's death.

Seeing how the other guest hosts do will be interesting, but I would not be at all surprised if Ken ends up getting the gig permanently.

by Anonymousreply 544January 17, 2021 12:36 PM

I hate how contestants have become so unknowledgeable about literature. They didn’t know Graham Greene or Edith Wharton today.

by Anonymousreply 545January 18, 2021 11:52 PM

Jennifer reminded me of DL fave Alice Ghostley.

by Anonymousreply 546January 19, 2021 3:08 AM

Have you noticed Ken’s eyes show anger when the contestants miss an easy one?

by Anonymousreply 547January 20, 2021 9:52 PM

That was a great photo of Sarah and Alex on the subway.

by Anonymousreply 548January 21, 2021 3:22 AM

R547 Beneath the mask of Mormon congeniality lies an angry, repressed man.

by Anonymousreply 549January 21, 2021 8:34 AM

I call dibs on cutiepie Jack.

by Anonymousreply 550January 22, 2021 11:33 PM

Jack came so close! Now I feel like I should comfort him.

by Anonymousreply 551January 22, 2021 11:57 PM

Jack seems a bit tense.

by Anonymousreply 552January 23, 2021 5:27 AM

They should let both high scorers continue as champion.

What would happen if the player who won the buzzer race answered incorrectly?

by Anonymousreply 553January 24, 2021 5:49 PM

R553, up until just a few years ago, tying players did return for the next game. Prior to that, the tiebreaker question was only used in tournaments so they wouldn't have to give more than one person the big bucks.

If the first player to buzz in answered incorrectly, the other player would have a chance to answer. If their answer was also incorrect, a second tiebreaker question would be asked. They would keep going as necessary, but only the deciding question would be aired.

by Anonymousreply 554January 24, 2021 8:54 PM

Yeah, both should come back. Don't like this deciding who the winner is in a sudden death tie breaker.

Jack came so far and beat the odds to end up in a tie at the end of Final. Somehow he deserves more than to go home with a mere $2,000 just because he was a milisecond slower on the buzzer.

by Anonymousreply 555January 25, 2021 7:18 PM

I got FJ! I’m usually terrible with geography.

by Anonymousreply 556January 25, 2021 11:57 PM

Surely I wasn't the only one unnerved by Elliot's voice.

He sounded like a cartoon character.

by Anonymousreply 557January 26, 2021 12:41 AM

They didn’t know James Garner!

by Anonymousreply 558January 26, 2021 11:49 PM

I knew FJ today.

😬😬

by Anonymousreply 559January 27, 2021 1:30 AM

Would it kill Brian Chang to turn and at least acknowledge the other contestants? Smile, nod, some sort of graciousness?

by Anonymousreply 560January 27, 2021 2:29 AM

No, R557, you weren't. I kept hearing Droopy Dog when Elliott spoke.

by Anonymousreply 561January 27, 2021 6:15 AM

I think Brian is socially awkward at best.

by Anonymousreply 562January 27, 2021 1:07 PM

R560, And he's an attorney? What must his courtroom presentations be like?

by Anonymousreply 563January 27, 2021 1:12 PM

Was shocked that nobody recognized James Garner... wow.

Wonder how long they'll keep Ken Jennings hosting. He's doing well.

by Anonymousreply 564January 27, 2021 3:11 PM

R563 I doubt he litigates in court.

by Anonymousreply 565January 27, 2021 3:12 PM

Yeah, R564, much as I hate to admit it, he is doing well.

I especially like that he thanks Alex after every episode.

by Anonymousreply 566January 27, 2021 8:04 PM

Too bad Alex in the middle blew it. He seemed charming, and had great hair. Hard FJ.

by Anonymousreply 567January 28, 2021 3:34 AM

But he apparently thinks it's General CUSTARD, R567! 🤣 Ken seemed thrown by that -- he wanted to tell him he had it half right when he really didn't.

R564, I read somewhere that he taped 30 shows.

I'm liking Ken as host more than I thought I would as well. He's not condescending in the way Alex often was and having been a contestant engenders empathy.

by Anonymousreply 568January 28, 2021 5:41 AM

Being an all-time-great player gives him a certain something extra it will be hard to match.

by Anonymousreply 569January 28, 2021 6:03 AM

Wouldn't he be allowed "Custard"? I thought spelling didn't count in FJ.

by Anonymousreply 570January 28, 2021 1:04 PM

R570, that’s a different word altogether.

by Anonymousreply 571January 28, 2021 1:47 PM

How come every time I open this thread, it starts at post #1...very irritating.

by Anonymousreply 572January 28, 2021 8:59 PM

Bye, Brian Felicia!

by Anonymousreply 573January 28, 2021 11:57 PM

Poor Jill having to compete against two champions. Glad to see Zach win, however. That was more than enough of Brian.

by Anonymousreply 574January 29, 2021 12:00 AM

Zach has an insincere smile.

by Anonymousreply 575January 29, 2021 1:38 AM

Easy FJ. Ken had a nice tie today. He dresses up nicely.

by Anonymousreply 576January 29, 2021 3:06 AM

I was sure FJ was Belfast.

Easy win for Zach. The other two seemed to be guessing throughout the game.

by Anonymousreply 577January 30, 2021 4:10 AM

I guess they skipped Derry Girls.

by Anonymousreply 578January 30, 2021 4:44 AM

Belfast doesn’t have two names.

by Anonymousreply 579January 30, 2021 4:49 AM

I knew Londonderry was the answer because it was in the news so often growing up. If you weren't a child of the 70s, you're unlikely to have heard of the place.

Likely same reason people didn't know who James Garner was.

by Anonymousreply 580January 31, 2021 9:22 PM

So, they waited until Brian Chang had won 7 games to bring in Zach to challenge him?

Zach was sitting backstage all week long and they decided to bring him out after Brian's 7th win?? Well, I guess that' one way to keep Brian from racking up too many wins.

All that said, I like Zach better than Brian, but think Brian got a shitty deal. One of the main advantages of competing again two people who've never been on camera before is that they lack the comfort and experience of playing the game for real. They took that advantage away from Brian.

by Anonymousreply 581January 31, 2021 9:28 PM

Team Zach. I was beyond ready for Brian to go.

by Anonymousreply 582January 31, 2021 9:31 PM

Brian Chang was an asshole. I get that he’s socially awkward, but as soon as Zach was there, all of sudden he knew how to smile, turn to his left, acknowledge someone other than Jennings and be polite. Chang saw Zach as a fellow winner and attorney, someone in league with him.

Knock Zach for his zany smile or whatever, but at least he’s not above being polite to his fellow players.

by Anonymousreply 583January 31, 2021 11:03 PM

Zach has a wife?

by Anonymousreply 584February 2, 2021 12:12 AM

Hard FJ. Hadn't a clue.

by Anonymousreply 585February 2, 2021 8:12 AM

I had no idea about Final.

Zach really lost his mojo when he missed the Daily Double question. If he hadn't bet so much on that Daily Double, he's still be the champ.

No one knew Valerie Harper played Rhoda? Is the Mary Tyler Moore Show that unknown to Gen Xers?

by Anonymousreply 586February 2, 2021 8:52 AM

He just seemed to lose steam as the show went on. Also, the categories didn't seem in his wheelhouse.

by Anonymousreply 587February 2, 2021 1:06 PM

I could only come up with "inertia" for FJ.

I can see not knowing James Garner or Valerie Harper, but they also could not identify Dave Chappelle and he's current.

by Anonymousreply 588February 2, 2021 5:24 PM

I knew entropy. It’s the story of my life.

Looks like Dr. Sanjay is going to be a guest host.

Another hard FJ. If I had an hour I might have figured it out...

by Anonymousreply 591February 3, 2021 3:06 AM

I actually did figure it out, because I remembered Geisel went to Dartmouth, but then moved away because my brain couldn’t get Seuss to rhyme with rejoice. I like to think I’d have written Seuss in the moment, but who knows.

Will every guest host close with "Thank you, Alex"?

by Anonymousreply 593February 4, 2021 5:49 AM

There's now a move to keep Dr. Oz from being a guest host.

by Anonymousreply 594February 4, 2021 5:50 AM

One "Thank you Alex" was sufficient.

Didn't get FJ again. Good work by the new champ.

R594 - that's good to know.

Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to have a quack be a Jeopardy host?

by Anonymousreply 596February 4, 2021 10:06 AM

New champ has the personality of a postage stamp.

by Anonymousreply 597February 4, 2021 4:17 PM

People are so fucking ridiculous. Some asswipes on the TVLine comments saying they won’t watch Anderson or Couric when they host are beyond ignorant.

Such assholes everywhere.

🙄🙄🙄

Anderson Cooper won one of the celebrity Jeopardy tournaments, so I'd say he's a good choice to do a guest host gig.

Hot champion.
