It's odd she never publically mentioned this herself though. It's possible, I guess. I found her parents marriage record on ancestry, and they got married just a few weeks before Ja'net's birth. Maybe she was with Calloway before she met and later married Mr. Dubois, who helped raise her.

They do look remarkably alike. Eyes, nose and mouth are all very similar and similarly distinctive. She probably never promoted it because she wanted to respect the man who raised her and actually was a father to her, or out of consideration for her mother.

It is interesting that Callawoy's estate is not denying the possibility and is willing to discuss it with DuBois's estate. Generally, such claims are denied or more casually dismissed. He has numerous descendants. DNA tests could settle the matter.

That's why I believe it's true. She was a classy lady and from the old school where people didn't seek attention for anything but their true talent.
She knew it would seem to outlandish for people to believe, and it would also destroy her career if Calloway denied being with her mother. She made the smart move and left this for the world to find out after she was gone. She was an amazing singer and I can see the resemblance.
