Chelsea Manning Suicide Attempt

Sad. Not sad.

by Anonymousreply 79March 21, 2020 7:55 PM

FUCK. HIM.

by Anonymousreply 1March 11, 2020 11:41 PM

She needs to be released. In a world where the GOP treats refusals to appear as marks of honor, this poor dear doesn't deserve the grief.

Living in a wannabe totalitarian state is rough.

And R1 has contracted a disease of his own making.

Good.

by Anonymousreply 2March 11, 2020 11:44 PM

What's his fucking problem now?

by Anonymousreply 3March 11, 2020 11:47 PM

Everyone knows you don’t wear hot pink lipstick if you’re really serious about killing yourself. It was only a cry for help. I hope he gets his vagina soon.

by Anonymousreply 4March 11, 2020 11:49 PM

I totally agree, R2.

by Anonymousreply 5March 11, 2020 11:49 PM

He's a fucking traitor to this country.

by Anonymousreply 6March 11, 2020 11:50 PM

Are people here saying fuck you to a person who had the balls to face execution to show the killings of civilians on a senseless war for oil and the sole responsible to leak thousands of documents proving that the American government still meddles into every country's democracies for personal gain and profit?

by Anonymousreply 7March 11, 2020 11:50 PM

[quote] He's a fucking traitor to this country.

Next time you cry Russian troll and whine that Russia is trying to interfere with our democracy, remember this woman had the balls to produce documented evidence America is doing the same to everyone else. The fact anyone here calls this woman a traitor, tells me most Americans are as brainwashed as the Chinese they love to mock. Original DLers knew better.

Between prime all day and this type of comment, this message board really is going to shit.

by Anonymousreply 8March 11, 2020 11:54 PM

At least he had the courage to face the consequences of his actions. Unlike that fucking coward Snowden who ran to Russia.

by Anonymousreply 9March 11, 2020 11:54 PM

If Obama commuted sentence, why is she back in? Sorry. Havnt followed closely

by Anonymousreply 10March 11, 2020 11:54 PM

Yeah, I thought she/he was free? Did something else happen? I haven't followed this story in years. And a transperson who attempts suicide? I am shocked, I tell ya.

by Anonymousreply 11March 11, 2020 11:58 PM

Indeed.

by Anonymousreply 12March 11, 2020 11:59 PM

I'm TRANSfixed!

by Anonymousreply 13March 12, 2020 12:00 AM

Again?

by Anonymousreply 14March 12, 2020 12:03 AM

OK this is bizarre. The article said Manning had been held for a year but I don't recall hearing anything about this. Was there a media blackout?

by Anonymousreply 15March 12, 2020 12:20 AM

No, it was covered. It is related to the Assange case.

See a story from last March at link.

R16 Strange I must have missed it completely. Last I had heard, Manning was living in a DC suburb

by Anonymousreply 17March 12, 2020 12:48 AM

This bitch.

by Anonymousreply 18March 12, 2020 12:53 AM

[quote] At least he had the courage to face the consequences of his actions. Unlike that fucking coward Snowden who ran to Russia

Is this for real? Are you calling a coward a man who risked his own life to show the world the government spies on everyone like the fucking KGB? How big of a fucking sheep are you?

by Anonymousreply 19March 12, 2020 1:03 AM

Why didn't he testify? Afraid of perjuring himself? I don't get it. Seems preferable to jail.

by Anonymousreply 20March 12, 2020 1:58 AM

R19 I think you must be the sheep if you didn't know the government spied on you before Snowden. Most of us are fine with it provided the government is accountable to the people. He put our national security in jeopardy.

by Anonymousreply 21March 12, 2020 2:04 AM

Didn’t xe try jumping out a window or something, already?

by Anonymousreply 22March 12, 2020 2:15 AM

R21 must be a moron for not understanding the distinction of "knowing" and actually having documented evidence of the lengths of control.

by Anonymousreply 23March 12, 2020 2:17 AM

[quote] I think you must be the sheep if you didn't know the government spied on you before Snowden. Most of us are fine with it provided the government is accountable to the people. He put our national security in jeopardy.

🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑

by Anonymousreply 24March 12, 2020 2:18 AM

R23 I must be. I'm a happy moron though. I'm focused on positive outcomes that can be achieved through smart government and trustworthy servants. Snowden showed himself to be an untrustworthy one.

Manning is a homophobe that assaulted a female coworker and called her a dyke in emails. I'm okay with my dimwittedness by comparison.

by Anonymousreply 25March 12, 2020 2:22 AM

What happened? Did a guard disrespect her pronouns?

by Anonymousreply 26March 12, 2020 2:45 AM

She should be jailed for the mullet.

by Anonymousreply 27March 12, 2020 2:50 AM

She look-a lik-a man.

by Anonymousreply 28March 12, 2020 2:56 AM

Very mixed up and needs lots of help - has attempted suicide before.

by Anonymousreply 29March 12, 2020 2:59 AM

I would be humbled and honored to experience unilaterally-initiated penetration in a gender-neutral correctional facility with this brave truth teller, but I suppose y'all other cis girls gon' keep crying about some "privacy" and "boundary" shit! smdh!

by Anonymousreply 30March 12, 2020 3:21 AM

Someone on Twitter said Chelsea is upset at finding out that Assange doesn't really love her and he was just using her and coerced her to commit treason.

What's going on with Assange's extradition ?

by Anonymousreply 31March 12, 2020 3:54 AM

Multiple suicide attempts and no success it's almost like he's not serious about killing himself.

by Anonymousreply 32March 12, 2020 4:00 AM

Maybe it was his masculine side trying to kill his feminine side.

by Anonymousreply 33March 12, 2020 4:02 AM

Did The Intercept get her thrown back in jail? That seems to happen to lots of people who work for them.

by Anonymousreply 34March 12, 2020 4:13 AM

He’s in jail for refusing to testify. It is a situation completely of his own doing, a choice Manning willingly made. In the meantime he’s been using his incarceration as an excuse to raise lots and lots of money, ostensibly for his “legal defense”.

He’s a deeply disturbed, mentally ill man with several public suicide attempts under his belt. He also has a history of being violent towards women. I don’t wish him any harm but it’s clear he’s unstable and some kind of institutionalization is the best thing for him.

by Anonymousreply 35March 12, 2020 4:14 AM

Before she succeeds, I hope she finds a better hairstyle. It's important to look good for the coroner.

by Anonymousreply 36March 12, 2020 5:03 AM

Murderers have served less time than her, this is a travesty of justice.

by Anonymousreply 37March 12, 2020 5:13 AM

This is sad, but the way she looks I just can imagine her trying to commit suicide like Sissy Spacek in a Crimes of the Heart, but unsuccessfully hanging herself from a chandelier, or sticking her head in the oven, deciding not to do it, but hitting her head and knocking herself out anyways.

by Anonymousreply 38March 12, 2020 5:36 AM

Remember, if at first you don't succeed, try and try again.

by Anonymousreply 39March 12, 2020 8:42 AM

She's mentally unstable and was long before she got tossed in jail for refusing to testify against that odious Russian prick Assange.

I find it quite telling that we have several active Bernie Bots on this board currently who immediately will claim Chelsea and Snowden are "heroes" when they are in fact dupes at best and Russian spies at worst.

Look at where Snowden has been living since he spilled the beans. That isn't an accident. It's unbelievable that people can continue to claim he's some sort of martyr when he made a beeline for Russia after leaking classified intel and continues to spread propaganda from exile.

Chelsea seems less innocent and more a deluded individual. She needs therapy and institutionalization, but because she's trans she has gotten a steady dose of support for all her delusions, because to dismiss one is to dismiss all, in her case. The suicide isn't a cry for help, it's a cry for attention.

She had her second chance when Obama commuted her sentence on compassionate grounds, and since then she has done nothing but make us ALL regret it. Currently she is back in jail in a situation - like before - entirely of her own making, for refusing to testify as to what she knows about that nasty narcissist Assange. She thinks she's being some sort of martyr by refusing to testify, but she is just showing she hasn't learned a goddamn thing.

She doesn't need hormones, she needs deprogramming.

by Anonymousreply 44March 12, 2020 10:25 AM

They are exhausting.

by Anonymousreply 45March 12, 2020 10:40 AM

Snowden is not in Russia by choice. The US took unprecedented action to revoke his passport while he was in the air on a flight. He has offered to stand trial if he can use the defense that disclosing secrets is legal if in the public interest. That is not a legally recognized defense, so he would be in jail for the rest of his life.

by Anonymousreply 46March 12, 2020 10:49 AM

I think psychiatrists are afraid to take people like her on as a real patient as they would have to be walking on eggshells the whole time so.as not to be publically accused by the patient as being transphobic for the smallest misstep.

[quote]He’s in jail for refusing to testify. It is a situation completely of his own doing

Not really. Manning has been clear that they have already told the government everything they know, and that this was just a Trump admin attempt to punish them for what they have already served time for.

There's no reason to keep Manning in jail. The government has shown nothing to indicate that they know Manning has more information and is refusing to release it.

by Anonymousreply 50March 12, 2020 1:38 PM

[quote] Not really. Manning has been clear that they have already told the government everything they know, and that this was just a Trump admin attempt to punish them for what they have already served time for.

Yes, really. All Manning needed to do was testify that he’s already provided the government with all the info he knows with regards to Wikileaks. He has already served time for anything that could be the subject of his testimony. This was pure obstruction from a diagnosed narcissistic head case.

by Anonymousreply 51March 12, 2020 1:56 PM

R48

That same diagnosis applies to 98.9% of trannies. That is one reason why they are so exhausting to be around.

by Anonymousreply 52March 12, 2020 2:04 PM

Hopefully it will be a closed coffin.

by Anonymousreply 53March 12, 2020 2:24 PM

Manning has said repeatedly through their lawyer and to the press that they already told the government all they knew. They won't agree to testify in front of a secret grand jury because they feel it's an attempt to intimidate and relitigate the prior court martial.

They haven't been convicted of anything. The judge just keeps throwing Manning back in jail every time the grand jury's term expires. It's a way for the government to incarcerate someone for life without giving them due process or even convicting them.

That should concern you. I know it doesn't because you (and most of the posters on this thread) sound like rightwing scumbags, of which Datalounge has many lately, but the government shouldn't be able to throw someone into solitary confinement for life without even a trial, just for not repeating testimony they have already given.

by Anonymousreply 54March 12, 2020 2:26 PM

R54

It isn't the "government". but any judge has power to put someone in jail for contempt of court who comes before them and will not cooperate.

Those thrown into jail like anyone else can appeal to higher courts including SCOTUS for relief, and yes Manning did so and the relief was denied.

by Anonymousreply 57March 12, 2020 4:39 PM

Not to be a dick, but she’s now tried to kill herself 3-4 times. Is she really trying that hard?

.... I’m a dick. Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 58March 12, 2020 8:29 PM

She really looks better as a gal. The eyes and lips needed some color.

by Anonymousreply 59March 12, 2020 8:45 PM

[quote] They won't agree to testify in front of a secret grand jury because they feel it's an attempt to intimidate and relitigate the prior court martial.

And that is Manning’s choice. He is not being forced by the judge or the government to make that decision. He is not a political prisoner nor does his refusal strike a blow against actual miscarriages of justice or make a stand for constitutional rights.

Manning cannot be tried again, so the idea that they are “relitigating” his previous court martial is false. All he needs to do is testify.

[quote] you (and most of the posters on this thread) sound like rightwing scumbags, of which Datalounge has many lately

Yes dear, anyone who disagrees with you must be a rightwing, MAGA wearing Cheetolini fan and not someone who simply has a different opinion. Tell me, before TDS did you dismiss anyone who disagreed with you on any subject as a conservative blowhard?

by Anonymousreply 63March 12, 2020 9:25 PM

Has the Chelsea Manning story been a Lifetime movie yet? I would totally watch that. Could Miles play her, they seem to have similar bone structure.

by Anonymousreply 65March 12, 2020 10:37 PM

R64 It could be an amazing Lifetime Original Movie, but we need to wait until the wokeness dies down a little bit for it to be as good as it could be.
