I like him a lot, but those squinty eyes are just not compelling in photos and onscreen.

He's really hot, and he's genuinely got a comic knack, but I would be surprised if he ever becomes a full-fledged movie star.

I think he is a little odd looking, but that makes him standout a little and he's always really likable on screen in a folksy kind of way. I haven't seen him do anything but supporting roles in things though, so maybe he's a character actor at heart. I like him though.
