Is it just me, or are people becoming crazier by the day!?
Me and a friend met up for a drink after work and we were discussing how people seem to be getting more and more crazy by the day lately. It’s scary how some people are losing their shit.
Watching this video below just reminded me of that convo. What is wrong with that naked crazy dude?

So the clearly the naked dude was on something or really drunk, but what is the matter with the guy filming, it wasn't that funny, he made an ass of himself too.

R1 to you. I laughed while watching.
In person I would probably find it funnier.

Yea, I didn’t find it funny, the guy filming was a much bigger ass. But to each his own I guess.

The guy laughing sounded semi-retarded. He made an idiot of himself.

the guy laughing is so annoying that i had to stop watching, he sounds even crazier than the naked guy

If that naked kid was younger than 18, the dude filming will go down for child porn.
Seriously.

I agree with the comment at r14. People have always been crazy.
Though I actually get more disturbed by the knee jerk impulse people have to film crazy people than the crazy people themselves. The constant voyeurism is more disturbing to me than the odd nut.

r16. Why stop there? What about the people willing to entertain themselves watching these clips? If these clips didn't get attention and views nobody would bother to record them in the first place.

R18 Yes the viewers too of course. I just find the filming of every bizarre incident to be unsettling. I've seen crazy people and public altercations and I've never felt the urge to stop and film.

R14 nailed it, but believe it or not I think it has also accelerated the amount of crazy because people view now as "eh".

The guy filming should be shot and killed.

I’m sure I’ll be savaged by the local cunts, but whatevs.…my opinions. You get what you pay for. We don’t fund public health, for which we are already seeing the repercussions (Corona!). Comprehensive treatment for indigent individuals with mental health and addiction concerns is difficult to obtain. Also, in California (though Laura’s Law is helping somewhat) mental health is treated more like a civil rights issue than a treatment, public health, or public safety issue. The streets frequently look like OP’s video. While I like to think I have an abundance of compassion, I do see humor in the young man having the episode, and the buffoon filming him. I will finish by saying, if the impaired individual were a Black (especially male) person, there’s a good chance he would have been shot by the police instead of tasered.

I would also guess PCP or a similar class of drug. Psychedelics do not do this sort of thing to people even though they were said for decades to be responsible for such things, and PCP is wrongly classified with them as a “hallucinogen.”
Dissociative drugs like PCP, “bath salts,” etc., are different and dangerous. Apparently, PCP is common again in the DC area among poorer people as “dippers,” cigarettes dipped into PCP and things like formaldehyde, and it can cause behavior like this. Life must be so bad for anyone to resort to this kind of destructive thing.

YouTube is full of videos just like this. Take your pick - type in your substance after the words "people high on...." and watch one after another. Some of them are funny, some are sad, and some are crazy scary. Incidentally, had that guy been black he'd have probably been shot.

R32 see the linked thread. This site has become complicit in hatemongering and white-supremacist propagandizing. The only places on the Internet I have seen with this level of alt-right/Nazi content are Twitter and the comments sections of Breitbart and the Daily Caller.

R33 I wouldn't go that far. Just a lot of casually racist old mo's suspicious of their Korean neighbors that might steal their dogs to eat. Occasionally you'll have a full on Project Stormfront infiltrator posting white supremacist propaganda as it gets generated and redelivering it from another source. Datalounge doesn't have any real power. Most of the regular posters are not racist and have the usual suspects blocked so they're not even seeing it.

R34 I see a lot of “casual racism” and I see greater extremity than that, and I don’t see administrators taking action against it.
This is the first place, by the way, that I ever heard of Milo Yiannopoulos in 2014 or 15. About half of posters called him ugly. And about half said “but he makes good politically incorrect points about ______.” (Women, black people, Muslims, Jews, you name it.)
There was a Milo fan club of sorts here, and when he was hired to do the “Gays for Trump” rally, there was support for him and for that here. People here actually insisted Trump would be “the best president in history for gay people,” and they celebrated Milo’s transgender hatred.
After the election, it stopped. Until Milo was banned by CPAC, fired by Breitbart, etc., and then I saw history being rewritten here as if everyone always hated him. This site was used to promote him and the alt-right agenda. I worry that it still is.

Two things, it's filmed more now, mental health care is gone, and people are doing really weird drugs that are hard to dose properly. When I was young, it was weak weed, maybe some coke, beer, a little crack here and there. Meth hadn't hit yet, that was in the mid 90's - and that's when I started to see this kinda stuff on the streets. In this case, I'd say mental illness + the wrong drug. Looks like a stimulant. It could be PCP, spice, way way way too much meth, crack, or even mushrooms if he's got some mental problems. The movements he was making rule out being drunk, I'm thinking drug induced psychosis, meth and no sleep for a week or so will do this to people. Remember the cannibal frat boy? He was on shrooms but also very schizophrenic, thought he was a dog spirit warrior, and hadn't slept for a long time. The guy filming is just doing the whole "WORLD STAR" thing, where they repeat stupid phrases while filming stupid stuff. The cop was pretty chill about it, tazered him only when absolutely forced to, tough job. A guy I went to high school with smoked crack for three days, was driving and ran out of gas, and thought the police were after him, ran into a trailer park, took off all his clothes, jumped on a car, and got tazered to death by police. Heart Attack. He was 34. We grew up in Conn. but he moved to Florida and became the proverbial "Florida Man".

I would have the same sympathy if the naked guy had been black and the idiot filming the encounter had been white. That guy was obviously having some sort of a mental episode. Be it a drug induced episode or a psychotic episode caused by some mental illness, he was unable to help himself. The cackling fool with the camera could help himself yet he chose to stand there making an ass of himself.
And let's not forget the idiot cop who was more than twice the size of the little naked guy. Any cop his size who couldn't grab another guy the size of that kid and get him tackled and handcuffed should be on desk duty. Clearly he enjoys using his tazer gun so he won't have to possibly get his uniform dirty.

More and more people in the industrialized countries are neurotic. They exhibit behavior that would be considered plain crazy in more traditional societies with less individualization.

It's the population. Let's say 20% of people have issues just for the sake of argument. 150 years ago humanity was 8x smaller. Modern medicine ballooned survival and the percentage of "crazy" people is still 20% but seems like more.
There's also the assholes invading privacy. I watched a simple comedy sketch, where people rode the subway reading funny, make believe, book titles -- didn't do anything else to draw attention, yet a majority of passengers were trying to snap stealth pictures of the person and what they were reading. I was shocked at the ignorance.

Look, you can choose which rabbit hole you want to fall into. Watching funny pet videos, people doing nice things, brawls, crazy people doing crazy stuff while high, etc.
In the end it's the individual's choice and it results in an emotional response which will further establish or alter one's perception of the world.

Mental illness. Not funny. This person has no one caring for them and they aren't mentally healthy enough to commit themselves to a hospital. OR they don't have insurance. OR the hospital will not accept them. We just don't care as a society.

You can still find mentions of Datalounge on various alt-right sites, that's just going to happen when people who have been doing this for years remember the places they used to troll back in 2016. And let's be honest: a lot of the trolls we've picked up over the years are regulars now. The "non-white person who did something dippy should be murdered" kind of reply is so standard that no one even notices or cares anymore. That's because people who say those kinds of things are now just regulars among us, posting recipes and complaints about socks along with suggestions for creating a racially pure America.
