A Thread for Those of Us Disappointed by the Weather this Winter

Maybe I am in the minority but consider me disgruntled that in my region (outside Philly) there has been virtually no more than a few flurries of snow this season. Yes, snow is a hassle but one or two decent storms don't hurt, and they can be a lot of fun, forcing people to slow down life for a day or two. Some of the pleasures of a winter storm: taking a walk in the evening after the snow has stopped falling, the light from the steetlamps reflecting off the snow, the relative peace and quiet from very few cars traveling on the road, hunkering down in a nice toasty house while you snow shoveling clothes are drying on the back of a chair in front of the fireplace, catching up on your Netflix queue, parents walking their kids a few blocks to the nearby sledding hill......we've had none of that this year, and I have missed it.

Yes, I think you are. Gays don't seem to like snow.

I agree OP. If it’s going to be cold, I want some snow a few times a year. Disappointing.

[quote]the light from the steetlamps reflecting off the snow,

The romance of that went when LEDs were brought in...like fucking lasers.

Where's the Norwegian? I'm sure he'll have plenty to say about this.

The eternal spring of this "winter" will probably make for a bad tick season too!

I agree OP. I'm a midwestern fellow used to big storms with snow drifts 10 feet or more high. I have a real love for a fresh snowfall. The beauty and purity of it blanketing everything. What is worse is I don't think I'm going to make it for another winter so I would have liked to have had a last hurrah. Bummer. Make an angel in memory of me next year OP. Promise?

I will take it a step further: it feels like we didn't get much of an Autumn, either. It was hot and humid well into November, then this dreary non-snowy winter kicked in. I'm sure we're in for a hellish Spring and Summer.

in London it's weird. All the blossoms are out but the weather has reverted to damp, grey and miserable early March weather...though not as cold as in the past.

OP, get a Currier and Ives print, honey, And a new caftan.
