With his military background, language talents, business credentials, and home restoration experience is there any job he couldn't do well? Where does DL think he belongs?
What's In Store For Mayor Pete In The Biden Administration?

UN Ambassador

Chief of Staff. Seriously.

You don't just give up SoS to anyone, that's the biggest prize next to CIA, Homeland, and Treasury. Even with his intellect, at most Pete only knows about international relations through reading and the news. You want someone that's been involved in International relations. It would also be a gigantic slap in the face to the 100s of more qualified State Dept employees that didn't spend the last decade as a Mayor of a small town. I wish DL would stop trying to mention Pete for that role.
Pete will be another Castro in some other Dept.

Secretary of the Interiors? Less cream colors in the White House? Tribal rugs in the West Wing?
Chief of Staff is a match for his intelligence, breadth of knowledge... but often it's given to someone who is "an insider" who knows where the bones are buried in DC. Pete's "an outsider."

UN Ambassador is a good one as it keeps his profile in the public eye. I still think he may be in some sort of running for Veep so that it will be an age contrast making the Biden Administration seem less fogey.

Buttigieg would be a good Communications Director or Deputy Chief of Staff. UN Ambassador is a promising idea.
He needs something that can utilize his management skills and where he can build up his cred.

I mentioned in previous Pete threads that Chief of Staff or Ambassador to the UN would be great roles for Pete. I'd be very surprised if he was chosen for Veep, but I guess that's still in the cards.
Chasten can get a job in DC if he gets certified to teach there, unless he stays in Indiana to continue work there.

Another for Ambassador to the UN. SOS would be great but I can't imagine that he'd give that to someone with only city government experience.

Whatever the job is it needs to be a position where Pete can stay close to Biden so he can inform Biden of what’s going on and what needs to be done. Joe’s campaign is already sounding like Pete’s ideas.

It would be an incredible to have an openly gay man serve as Secretary of State. Would send a strong signal to Russia/China/etc.

R15. And then we could have a reboot of the Madam Secretary, with Pete throwing shade at the Chinese equivalent, played with Anna Mae Wong dragon lady flaring nostrils by gay actor Francis Jue!
