Crummy cable channel Screenpix is showing Madonna movies!
Just watched "Desperately Seeking Susan" from slightly past the middle of the movie. Madonna was arguably better than Melanie Griffith in "SOmething Wild" tho the Susan part was much smaller.
"Body of Evidence" is a mystery/thriller with Madonna reverse cowboy fucking men to DEATH! She is demonstrably worse in this movie. She is a movie killer: "They've taken something good between two people in love and made it dirty! I didn't kill him!"
Wow also a young Julianne Moore as Willem Dafoe's wife.

Body of Evidence was so bad I couldn’t watch more than ten minutes of it.

she tried hard to do the acting thing.

Any channel that schedules a Madonna film fest on a Saturday evening deserves a mention!
Sorry Miss Jackson only has that one movie!

Madonna in DSS better than Melanie in Something Wild?

[quote] Madonna in DSS better than Melanie in Something Wild?
And the movie where Madonna apes Melanie is Who's that Girl--a blatant attempt to recreate Something Wild.

"Susan" was her best role. She literally worked her way down the ladder.

I actually like Madonna is both DSS and WTG r6 but in NO way was she better than Melanie in Something Wild. Definitely one of Melanie's best performances.

Lamb's Bread, R5!
I've never seen "Who's That Girl"...maybe they showed it earlier?

I envy you, R9.

Who's That Girl is actually fun.

Desperately Seeking Susan, Who's That Girl, Dick Tracey, A League of Their Own and Evita are the only decent (a bit of a stretch to say that) films that she has done. If she had only done those films and no more, she would be a bit less of a laughingstock than she is today. just a bit.

Something Wild is pretty boring to me. Much like DL, it did not age well.

Don't get me started after she made Sean deliver her set rider personally to me. Fuck does she think she is... one of the Beatles or summink?

R13, totally disagree. I saw it on blu-ray for the first time two years ago and I loved it. I actually think the best role Madonna did is Dangerous Game--it's the only serious role she has done well in. And she's actually great in it, surprisingly. Abel Ferrara must have verbally abused the shit out of her to get that performance out of her.

Anyone notice she works better with female directors?

A League of Her Own is really her best performance because Marshall knew how to use her. It's also Rosie O'Donnell's best acting job as well.
In DSS she's a bit amateurish but somehow it works pretty well.
Never seen Dangerous Game, but heard she was effective even though the film itself is supposedly mediocre.

They show 80's movies you never see on cable anymore. I like'em.

I loved DSS, it's such a snapshot of the mid 80's. A little like After Hours. Madonna was basically playing herself. She wasn't really acting.
