Nicholas Tucci is dead to me
SAT, 07 MARCH 2020 AT 12:56 AM
Nicholas Tucci has passed away at the young age of 38 on Tuesday, March 3.
The actor's father shared the sad news on Facebook (via People) tonight (March 6).
Nick appeared in television shows Pose and Homeland, among others, and starred in 2011's You're Next horror movie.
"This is Alexander Tucci, Nick’s father. On Tuesday, March 3, Nick died at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut," his father wrote on his profile. "Nick chose to keep his illness private so that he could continue to pursue his professional and artistic dreams for as long as possible. In the last year, he was able to audition, go on location, and continue the work he loved so much."
He added to his friends and fans later in the note, "To those of you in the film, television, and theater communities...thank you for guiding, encouraging, and supporting Nick. To those of you who enjoyed Nick’s work on the screen and stage...thank you for recognizing his talent and appreciating his efforts. To all...thank you for your gift of friendship to my son."

R4 Some sort of cancer. I'm guessing something fairly rare.

His father wanted the illness kept quiet so Nick could continue to audition. Knew actor Victor Arnold with emphysema who didn't want it known. In 2009 got part on "Law and Order" as a character with the condition. Director was very impressed with his ability to play the role. Vic died of its complications in 2012.

Good guy, good actor. He will be missed. As R17 said, it was lymphoma.

Oh, wow, R16! Victor Arnold was one of my favorite actors, all the way back to [italic]The Seven Ups.[/italic] Even started watching [italic]The Edge of Night[/italic] when he started working on that soap. But no one I knew had any clue who he was. Such an expressive face and bearing.
Not to hijack this thread (RIP, Mr. Tucci), but I would love to hear any stories you have of Mr. Arnold. Is it true he was a high school teacher in his later years? How'd that happen?
Thanks!
