What if something happens to Biden?
I'm not trying to troll or conspiracy-monger, this is an honest question. With Biden as the presumptive nominee, the fate of Democracy in the US rests on the shoulders of one 77 year old man and it makes me nervous. It's a long time until November.
What would happen if some bad health or other mishap befell him? Do-over elections? (Dear god, no!) Nom goes to the next runner-up? Let the delegates decide?

Sadly, we have often heard his confusion with the city he's in and beginning quotes he can't finish. He may be in Stage One..

Well, the OrangeShitAss has been in stage one for some time and it is not slowing his crooked ways at all.

Because r1 has gone through the incredibly grueling process of campaigning in scores of cities for well over a year, nonstop, and r1 [italic]aced every moment[/italic]!

Bernie's as bad as Biden in this regard.

I'm not trying to start a game of "Which Old Fart is More Decrepit," ok? They're all too goddamned old to be President.
Now, will someone attempt to answer my question?

"I'm not trying to troll" is the new "Lifelong Liberal Democrat here who voted for Obama twice, but Hillary..."

VP (whomever) will be president. Better than Trump.

Depends, if he won the election, but hasn't been swore in yet his VP would be sworn in as president. We would be in uncharted waters if the candidate died before the election. I would assume the election would go on and the VP would be sworn in as president.

No. The DNC would appoint a new nominee. And it will be Hillary.

Can't happen once the ballots are printed up R11.

The crew of young future democratic leaders he's assembling - Pete, Beto, possibly Harris, Abrams, etc. - are going to need to pull a 'Weekend at Biden's.'

I was thinking about this, that if Joe had to drop out of the race before the summer, and he hadn't announced a running mate yet, maybe it's good if Elizabeth Warren doesn't drop out after all, not until the convention. She would be the alternative to Bernie, a compromise, and Joe's delegates could go to her.

And Bernie's older than Joe, had a heart attack last year, and won’t release his medical records.

What I found from Goggling, the link is for the last three paragraphs but not the first paragraph:
If a winning Presidential candidate dies or becomes incapacitated between the counting of electoral votes in the Congress and the inauguration, the Vice President elect will become President, according to Section 3 of the 20th Amendment.
Since the time of Andrew Jackson's run for the presidency in 1828, individual political parties have had the job of filling any vacancy on their national ticket, either that of their presidential or vice-presidential candidate. If one of their candidates vacates the ticket after they are nominated, either because of death or withdrawal, the party selects a replacement.
Both the Republican and the Democratic parties have rules in their bylaws governing how to fill the vacancy. The Party Chair calls a meeting of the National Committee, and the Committee members at the meeting vote to fill the vacancy on the ticket. A candidate must receive a majority of the votes to win the party's nod.
The same process would happen if the vacancy were to occur after the general election but before the Electoral College voting. If a vacancy should occur on the winning ticket, it would then be the party's responsibility to fill it and provide a candidate for whom their electors could vote.

Biden has normal age-related memory loss.
Bernard "king of unemployment/deadbeat dad" Sanders probably has an ejection fraction so low he is getting minimal oxygen to his brain.
He won't release his cardiology records due to his low ejection fraction.

I always wonder about these kind of things. Especially with the corona virus and the age of all the leading contenders. I think the death of either nominated candidate before the general election will discourage a number of voters from voting at all. But I’m Blue no matter who.

I wouldn't worry about it even though R24 sufficiently addressed it. It is interesting that during an election that it has yet to happen, despite the US having a habit of running older candidates.
JB is a member of the "Silent Generation" (after GG, before BB) -- they seem to have a reliable pattern with living long in general. All the people I know of born in the 40s and earlier (both GGs and SGs), are hanging on stronger and longer than their predecessors. Maybe something about the conditions they grew up in is somehow responsible for their success in longevity. (No plastic, being just one of them.)
I'm not trying to be a smart ass either. There's so many of my relatives, neighbors, and so on, still going just fine -- even driving, living alone, shopping, etcetera, some well into their 90s. While the BBs and younger seem to be meeting earlier deaths from cancers, suicides, whatever, or at least in rough shape too young, if compared to those 2 older generations.

Saw clips of Bernie at the coronavirus town hall today and he looked so bad I barely recognized him.
Face it: all three of the potential presidents are old and in ill health. It's a big problem no one is really talking about.

If Biden has to drop out due to ill health, I would hope he would endorse a person to get his delegates.
I did hear Bernie on Cuomo. I wasn’t watching but did hear him, so I don’t know how he looked. He seemed to take it very seriously, but Cuomo kept asking, you older guys are high risk due to your age, what are you doing differently? Bernie wouldn’t really answer. Bernie is specifically high risk because of his heart condition and his age.
Trump seems insistent on shaking hands and acting normally. People have speculated he’s one of the few that got a blood transfusion of recovered Coronavirus patients. That’s supposed to protect you. Who knows if it’s 100% though. Probably not. Trump himself doesn’t understand any of this, so he may think he’s totally immune and may not be. They used that blood on a very few patients and it helped them recover, but is that the same as giving it to a well person? Maybe not. It’s speculated that people can catch it more than once.
The one thing the Democratic Party has going for it is that several people dropped out to save Biden. Those people are actually qualified, and younger, so if worse came to worst, if Biden endorsed one, people would understand it had to be done and hopefully get behind that person.
