r9, They;ve been hounding Amy for about two weeks. They've been ambushing Pete for the past year. Not for sending an innocent black teen to jail but for firing a police chief that was unlawfully spying on his officers.

There’s absolutely no evidence that he is “innocent”.

Klobuchar said they were reopening his case to investigate to see if he was unjustly prosecuted. But the guy was found guilty of shooting an 11 yr. old girl, an African American girl, who was sitting at the table in her house, doing her homework. I'm fucking sick of some of the people who use the Black Lives MAtter organization as a front to disrupt and divide people. At the very least they're misguided and they are obviously doing the dirty work for someone else. I look at who get chosen for these very selective demonstrations and heckling, and the last time it was Biden for some bullshit. Never see Bernie heckled, or anyone Trump or Putin favor heckled. I'm old enough to remember the Republican dirty tricks when Nixon was running, and disrupting Democratic candidates was part of the strategy. I'm not a Klobuchar fan, I was supporting Pete, but this sucks.

Here are some actual facts about the case from Hennepin County Attorney’s office.

The second time he was convicted, (yes he was convicted twice)...Klobuchar has already left her position in the office and had no involvement in the case.

What happened was, after Pete was elected, he interviewed some people for the police chief’s job, which new mayors sometimes do. The people he interviewed were white police officers who applied from within the department.

When one of these officers came out of the interview, the black police chief found out about the interview and called him a “traitor” for applying for his job. He found out who applied. He then decided to bug the phones of the individuals who applied for his job, to see if he could find out some dirt about them so he could fire them out of revenge. The FBI then found out their phones were being bugged and told Pete. My guess is someone that knew about it reported the police chief. Pete did not know until the FBI told him. At that point he had to do something, so he tried to fire the police chief, but there was such an outcry in the community that he ended up demoting him. Contrary to what you have heard, the police chief was never “fired,” he was demoted. He continued to serve another five years and eventually retired with his pension. That’s not what fired means.

When the police chief was caught, he said the tapes proved the white officers were racist. The judge sealed the tapes and no one has ever heard them. The white officers sued the police chief for saying they made racist comments. They say they didn’t, but no one knows at this time. They say the police chief was just trying to save himself by saying that about them.

This has been blown up by the black community to include a lot of false details that never happened and a lot of black people have heard a completely false, exaggerated story.
