Tim Allen Wants to Do a “Home Improvement” Reboot

Home Improvement ran from 1991-1999, and starred Tim as the hilarious TV host and father of three boys. People were crushed when it ended, but it turns out there might be hope for a revival down the line.

Please no. Once was plenty.

by Anonymousreply 1March 1, 2020 9:18 PM

Oh God No! He is a one-note character and he should be grateful he was able to play that note for as long as he did. Retire already and let some Youngblood have a chance.

by Anonymousreply 2March 1, 2020 9:36 PM

A convicted felon/drug dealer getting a second chance? Only in Fat, Old White Guy World.

by Anonymousreply 3March 1, 2020 9:38 PM

His second chance was years ago

by Anonymousreply 4March 1, 2020 9:40 PM

Trump supporter, but not as obnoxious as Roseanne.

by Anonymousreply 5March 1, 2020 10:32 PM

Is Jonathan Taylor Thomas still hot?

by Anonymousreply 6March 1, 2020 10:36 PM

Is there an audience for this? It's one of those hit shows you never see in syndication or on cable.

by Anonymousreply 7March 1, 2020 10:47 PM

Good luck. Jonathan Taylor Thomas hates Tim Allen like poison. And does anybody even know where Taran Noah Smith is these days?

by Anonymousreply 8March 1, 2020 10:50 PM

R7 I can't use your comment as a measurement of public taste. Two Broke Girls? The Middle? These are syndication worthy?

by Anonymousreply 9March 1, 2020 10:51 PM

R8 He’s doing something or other with submarines.

and you know if he doesn't get to do this he'll complain that he's persecuted because he's conservative

by Anonymousreply 11March 1, 2020 10:58 PM

JTT and Patricia couldn’t get out of that show fast enough towards the end. Unless they’re broke, I can’t imagine them wanting to take part. Also, the guy that played Wilson is dead. What’s the point?

by Anonymousreply 12March 1, 2020 11:01 PM

[QUOTE] Good luck. Jonathan Taylor Thomas hates Tim Allen like poison.

Then why was he on Tim Allen’s show last year?

Fuck this deplorable piece of unfunny shit!

by Anonymousreply 16March 1, 2020 11:30 PM

Last Man Standing isn't the same as a Home Improvement reboot? Sorry, they are the same, and equally bad. Tim Allen should stick with voicing Buzz Lightyear, which is probably the only thing that most people would like him to do.

by Anonymousreply 17March 1, 2020 11:36 PM

"His brand of toxic male masculine humor will NOT be welcome on my TV!"

by Anonymousreply 18March 1, 2020 11:40 PM

Timothy Allen Dick. No, thanks.

by Anonymousreply 19March 1, 2020 11:41 PM

Does Tim Allen hate JTT for being gay?

by Anonymousreply 20March 1, 2020 11:42 PM

For Repugs only .

by Anonymousreply 21March 1, 2020 11:57 PM

I wanted Richard Karn quite badly, back in the day. Now I'm afraid to search for a recent picture.

by Anonymousreply 22March 2, 2020 12:03 AM

WHET to Patricia Richardson? I think she played the governor of a state, maybe Texas on The West Wing and that's all I've seen of her.

by Anonymousreply 23March 2, 2020 12:05 AM

It was always shit. I sometimes watched it during the later seasons to tape (!) clips of JTT to jerk off to later, and it was always a chore (the watching, not the jerking off).

by Anonymousreply 24March 2, 2020 12:09 AM

[QUOTE] I wanted Richard Karn quite badly, back in the day. Now I'm afraid to search for a recent picture.

There’s nothing to fear. He looks virtually the same. That’s part of the reason Tim Allen wants a reboot: he knows most the key players are still alive and look decent, and that’s why it could work.

He already stamped his feet and got them to bring back Last Man Standing. Talk about entitled snowflake.

by Anonymousreply 26March 2, 2020 12:18 AM

[quote]WHET to Patricia Richardson?

I saw her in a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, although not the same one that Richard Karn was in.

by Anonymousreply 27March 2, 2020 12:24 AM

Patricia could care less. She is one of the people that refused to come back for another season, despite them offering to double her pay per episode.

by Anonymousreply 28March 2, 2020 12:27 AM

His other TV son Zachery Ty Bryan is a deplorable too

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 29March 2, 2020 12:29 AM

JTT wouldn’t even come back to film the finale. Tim took it very personal.

by Anonymousreply 30March 2, 2020 12:32 AM

Please tell me JTT isn't a freeper, too

by Anonymousreply 31March 2, 2020 12:33 AM

Isn't his other show basically just Home Improvement but with daughters instead?

by Anonymousreply 32March 2, 2020 12:34 AM

Are you kidding me? Tim “The Toolman” Taylor was NOT a rightwinger. There was nothing political about the show.

by Anonymousreply 33March 2, 2020 1:19 AM

Zachery Ty Bryan looks like he FUCKS. And he likes Trump <3

Daddy!!!!

by Anonymousreply 34March 2, 2020 1:21 AM

R10: Interesting about Taran Smith. Thanks for that. And yes R29, I know Zachery was a Nazi from a while back. When I was a gayling, it was him that I jerked off to. But in retrospect it was a terrible show.

by Anonymousreply 35March 2, 2020 1:23 AM

Last Man Standing should have stayed dead because it sucks now

by Anonymousreply 36March 2, 2020 1:23 AM

He is thoroughly obnoxious. Keep him away from cameras of any kind.

by Anonymousreply 37March 2, 2020 1:49 AM

R13 JTT turned out to be very blah looking, IMO.

I watched Home Improvement more than I care to admit, a local channel always aired it in syndication after school. Despite watching it so often, I have barely any recollection of any storylines. It really wasn't that memorable. I only remember that the youngest son (I don't even remember the character names!!!) became a goth and JTT's character ended up with some sort of thyroid condition AND ended up gong to Costa Rica.

by Anonymousreply 38March 2, 2020 3:14 AM

I'm already hard at work on the dialogue!

Hey, how's this for Patricia Richardson as Jill?

"TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM!! I can't BELIEVE you'd be so INSENSITIVE!"

by Anonymousreply 39March 2, 2020 3:17 AM

JTT is going to look like a midget standing next to the other two brothers.

by Anonymousreply 40March 2, 2020 3:18 AM

I thought Tim Allen was kinda hot.

by Anonymousreply 41March 2, 2020 3:29 AM

I did too, R41.

by Anonymousreply 42March 2, 2020 3:32 AM

Is this reboot going to be a love letter to deplorables like his last show?

by Anonymousreply 43March 2, 2020 3:35 AM

Did he run out of blow?

by Anonymousreply 44March 2, 2020 3:38 AM

r38 That's great about not remembering any storylines. It was on all the time in our house growing up, and I'd even watch it regularly. The only storylines I remember was are when Jill had girlfriends over to do waxing, but the guys thought the wax was a dip, and then I remember another time when Jill had to drive The Granite Guy home and Tim got jealous. Remarkably forgettable.

by Anonymousreply 45March 2, 2020 3:43 AM

The show's storylines were not memorable. What was memorable were Tim's mishaps, particularly on Tool Time.

Tim electrocuting himself by jamming a potato into the broken bulb in a still plugged-in lamp, Tim gluing his own forehead to a table, and Tim accidentally knocking out Bob Vila with a 4x8 come to mind.

by Anonymousreply 46March 2, 2020 3:53 AM

R46 Honestly, I don't even remember that stuff!!

by Anonymousreply 47March 2, 2020 3:59 AM

A rather memorable segment from Bob Villa's Home Again was when he assisted Tim Allen with a concrete pour in Beverly Hills, Michigan.

I watched the show as a kid in the 90’ (and it was fine then), but I recently watched a few episodes on one of those cheap antenna channels and it was painfully unfunny and terribly dated. Definitely not a show that needs to come back.

by Anonymousreply 49March 2, 2020 6:40 AM

Brain dead when it was "fresh," someone besides him thinks there is a market for this shit? Has network TV even had a pulse in the last decade?

by Anonymousreply 50March 2, 2020 7:04 AM

Wow, Zachary Ty Bryan turned into a bloated potato, didn’t he?

Fuck Tim Allen, greedy mofo.

by Anonymousreply 51March 2, 2020 7:46 AM

Terrible show.

by Anonymousreply 52March 2, 2020 7:49 AM

Even as a child I recognized that this was a show for stupid people with only the most basic concept of humor. Also, Tim Allen is a snitch.

by Anonymousreply 53March 2, 2020 8:07 AM

The "Last Man Standing" syndicated shows are actually funny, and that Masterson brother is hot.

by Anonymousreply 54March 2, 2020 9:26 AM

[quote] Wow, Zachary Ty Bryan turned into a bloated potato, didn’t he?

Did you see r34?

by Anonymousreply 55March 2, 2020 11:39 AM

Apparently, Pamela Anderson is no longer a busy newlywed, so you know she's available...

by Anonymousreply 56March 2, 2020 11:50 AM

[quote]The "Last Man Standing" syndicated shows are actually funny

I watched maybe five minutes of it at someone else's house and it was nothing but racist Deplorable jokes. Democrats were called brownshirts for Soros or something similar, and there was a joke about how black women would have been happier if they'd just remained maids.

But I guess if you're the kind of mental midget still making "Trigglypuff" jokes in 2020, you'd find that kind of thing funny.

by Anonymousreply 57March 2, 2020 11:55 AM

[quote]Tim took it very personal.

He's a big baby. He complains about people on Twitter who criticize him, not even the trolls but just basic "that joke was kind of racist" comments. He whined that being conservative in Hollywood was just like being a Jew in Nazi Germany. He whined until his show was renewed even after it was cancelled.

All he does is whine and complain. He gets his feelings hurt at the drop of a hat, I swear.

by Anonymousreply 58March 2, 2020 11:58 AM

Cons tend to have a victim complex. They talk about snowflakes and safe spaces, yet they're often the biggest babies. Look at their King - no one can say anything about him without him slamming them on Twitter for days. And not only him, but his troll sons too.

by Anonymousreply 59March 2, 2020 12:02 PM

PLEASE YANK THAT RIGHT WING SOB OFF TV FOR GOOD ..

by Anonymousreply 60March 2, 2020 12:31 PM

I always hated tim allen. he had the worst vibes....like the conservative uncle who farted a lot at dinner and got drunk and made gay jokes bout ev body.

horrid person

by Anonymousreply 61March 2, 2020 12:38 PM

[quote] Then why was he on Tim Allen’s show last year?

That wasn’t last year. He hasn’t been on it in quite some time.

by Anonymousreply 62March 2, 2020 1:05 PM

Well since he’s not a recurring character, wouldn’t that make sense?

by Anonymousreply 63March 2, 2020 1:08 PM

At certain angles Tim Allen was / is handsome.

by Anonymousreply 64March 2, 2020 1:11 PM

Few are as hated in Hollywood and the biz as much as mr allen….mean fuk

by Anonymousreply 65March 2, 2020 1:29 PM

[quote]Then why was he on Tim Allen’s show last year?

He didn’t know it was his show.

by Anonymousreply 66March 2, 2020 1:54 PM

[quote]All he does is whine and complain. He gets his feelings hurt at the drop of a hat, I swear.

Sounds just like a certain president whom Tim admires.

by Anonymousreply 67March 2, 2020 3:01 PM

Wouldn't a push toward a Toy Story 5 be a more lucrative move for Tim?

by Anonymousreply 68March 2, 2020 4:07 PM

If there's a Toy Story 5, it's not going to be because Tim Allen "pushed" for it.

by Anonymousreply 69March 2, 2020 4:11 PM

I was shocked by how Buzz was “Supporting” in TS4. Granted, that movie was a big send off to the Woody and Bo lovers. Many hated that Bo wasn’t in part 3.

by Anonymousreply 70March 2, 2020 8:43 PM

[quote]But I guess if you're the kind of mental midget still making "Trigglypuff" jokes in 2020, you'd find that kind of thing funny.

The fuck are you lisping about? You overanalyzing twat. It’s a dumb sitcom with a laugh track--NOT the second coming.

by Anonymousreply 71March 3, 2020 12:51 PM

they have to pay co stars double to work with the turd faced allen: creepie meanie...

by Anonymousreply 72March 3, 2020 12:57 PM

Tim Allen has BDF.

by Anonymousreply 73March 3, 2020 2:54 PM

I never sat through even 1 episode of that show.
