And just like that, it’s over. 💔
We’ve always been pretty transparent throughout our relationship, so in the spirit of continuity, here’s the scoop... Like any couple, we’ve had our issues. And as partners do, we worked through said issues and learned more and more about what it means to truly love another with action, not just words or intentions.
But there was one area wherein we lacked alignment and it could not actually be “worked through”... mostly, I want to be a father. Ryan doesn’t.
We now recognize that, mistakenly, neither of us communicated this clearly in the beginning.
So here we are: unable to imagine a way for us to stay together and both get what we want out of life. So this is our mutual logic... We have a tremendous amount of love for each other. Much. Lots! And at the center of that love is a genuine desire for the other to be happy and feel fulfilled. And it’s for that very reason that Ryan and I have decided to end our relationship.
To better honor and realize each other’s dreams. Is that not the essence of love? 💙
To be clear, we have not been fighting or arguing. No one has lied to each other, no trust has been betrayed. We actually love and trust each other wholly (which easily makes this the most difficult and most mature decision of my life, so far). We just want different things out of life! And that’s ok :)
Guys! Be clear about your wants, needs, goals and dreams at the beginning of your connections, ok? Ok. 👍🏻 To those of you who have loved and supported us when we needed it, who cheered us on and counseled with us when we needed advice or perspective: from the bottoms of our hearts, thank you. Thank you. ❤️
To you Ryan, my Love.
Thank you for sharing your heart, mind and energy with me. Thank you for illuminating more of my worth to me. Thank you for always (usually.) laughing at my silly dad jokes. For sharing your life and your love with me. I will always wish you joy, success and fulfillment, wherever we are! Unforgettable. That’s what you are.
Love, Carson
