If there were such a thing I think there would be extenuating circumstances. I think he was probably a sensitive, vulnerable kid and that his screwed up childhood probably really did a number on him. It altered who he was and turned him into something he himself more than likely despised. The bigger question to me would be who among those he damaged is able to forgive him for it?

Here's something to think about if you read the biblical texts as I have. If god is omniscient then he would have KNOWN ahead of time Lucifer would rebel. So in essence god created the devil.
