But he was quite handsome when young. Anybody have a crush on him as a gayling?

I was watching a Judy Garland special from 1963 or 1964 and he was on it doing his crooner shtick. He was kind of good looking. Do you think he takes/took it up the WAZOO.

"Love...exciting and new"

And they let Dionne Warwick sing the theme song in Love Boat’s final few seasons. She oversang it. Jones’ version is superior.

Eldergays ... getting up when it's still dark ... drinking Sanka while watching the bird feeder outside ... reading the obituaries to see who has died since yesterday ... then on to Datalounge to post something-something about a singer who hasn't been popular since Medicare was a glimmer in LBJ's besotted eye.

Agreed, R5. Jones's version was perfect.

Nobody should marry more than three times. Two broken marriages could be external circumstances, bad choice of partner, etc. Three or more broken marriages means it's you.

He reminds me of Michael Buble -- No one will remember him or his bland style in 10 years. Biggest break he ever had was singing The Love Boat Theme. Even got a bit in one of the Airplane movies.

He had a hit record in the 1960s, "Wives and Lovers".

R9, It took me a lot less than 10 years to forget him.

Oh, Michael Bublé would love to have Jack Jones' talent. But he doesn't. Bublé should be grouped with Josh Groban. They both have the instrument, but that's all. Neither can craft the singing of a song. They just make a nice sound. Boring.
Jack Jones has always occupied his own place in the music business. He never strays from it and he does it better than anyone. He comes by it honestly. His father was also a great singer and actor.
And, yes, when he was in his prime, I would have shot my own mother for the chance to lick him all over.

I recall some really hot beach shots in The Enquirer when he was dating Susan George, but I can't find any on the Internet.
Jack had an incredibly furry chest and stomach.

R12 Good point about having 'the instrument but not the talent' . I forgot about Josh Groban, another boring singer. Always the BIG FINISH. I couldn't listen to an entire CD...every song was the same. La de la la soft start, mediocre buildup, and then throat busting finish. Ugh.
