Has David Yost ever been real specific with his homophobia claims. I know he's spoken out against the producers and the crew, but has he ever name dropped any of the actors specifically?

R32 As far as I know he hasn't made any allegations about any of the actors. I guess people are speculating because he's not as close to the other actors or doesn't appear in as many conventions.

Idk if the male cast ever called him out of his name but I do know even back then he was the one they excluded a lot. Austin (Jason) and Walter (Zack) were best friends and even lived together. They would throw parties etc. and invite both girls to them but never David etc.

I remember an interview Karan Ashley (Second Yellow Ranger) did several years back and she was asked about David. She said she and David were very close and she believed his allegations, although the way she described it, she made it sound like she didn't even know it was going on which would make no sense.

I never heard about other actors treating him badly....it wouldn't surprise me though, given the 90s, how macho all the dudes were trying to be and how young they all were. I know they've done conventions together, but if they always kept Yost at arm's length, my heart goes out to him. So stupid. But it goes to show how strong homophobia is, even in showbiz.

Blue Power Ranger David Yost Was Driven Off The Show Because He's Gay

Am I the only one who didn't realise until recently that the action scenes were taken from a Japanese show? Turns out my whole childhood was a lie.

R43 I found out years later when I watched a special about the shows earlier years, but looking back, I kind of hate myself for not realizing it sooner, even though I was a kid. Between the bad editing, the Japanese like monsters, and a good chunk of Angel Grove looking like Japan....

The posing etc that they did was the dead give away that it was Japanese in origin.

I noticed the change in film stock.

I revisited the series briefly before the release of the last movie. The only season that I thought was legitimately good and which I ended up watching was Power Rangers in Space. However, the whole franchise is passable entertainment.

Back then companies were very serious about their family friendly image and saw even closet cases as a threat to create a scandal. Saban, or his assistants, would've been concerned about potential scandals that could create damage to one of their many lucrative projects.

Austin recently did some interviews and in one of them he claims that the show had been begging him for years to come back to the show but he has told them no each time. He also said that the show's pay was basically shit low and claims that it still is. Austin says that someone who had worked on the show when he was there who is now retiring essentially begged him to come back for this appearance.

I've always liked how well this was put together, even if you've never seen an episode of the Power Rangers.

The only Red Ranger I acknowledge is Jan Kandou (of JUKEN SENTAI GEKIRANGER IN 2007, the one that became WILD FORCE in the U.S.).

He's adorable, good-hearted, fun, and unlike every other Red both Japanese & American doesn't take himself seriously at all. He's just a goofy sweet jungle boy who wants to learn Kung Fu, and I love him (not even a Rice Queen or a weeb, just enjoy nice people on TV).

Bonus: the actor, Zukki Hiroki, is a stage-actor who is considered to be glass-closeted bisexual (at least as far as I can tell with my limited understanding of Japanese media).

THIS. I don't know if Austin is a Republican Trump fan d-bag, but Dean is and it is so disappointing. Austin does come off as egotistical though. More swagger than anything.
