The Brothers Kennedy

I find it strange that John is often cited as being so handsome - and compared to Presidents before him, he certainly was - but his brothers were much better looking IMO

OP You tasteless whore.

I'm surprised any of them are held up as icons of handsomeness, to be honest.

Maybe it was a matter of a very charming personality that made people feel that way, but if one just looks at photos, they aren't gods by any measure. Handsome in a generic Hyannis Port Country Club White Dude sort of way, sure.

Bobby had too many teeth. He looked bucktoothed. Ted was the most handsome when very young but really got bloat-face early on - like in his 30s. Jack definitely was the best looking. Very manly, not boyish.

FDR was a very handsome manly-man.

by Anonymousreply 4February 22, 2020 7:22 PM

Joe Jr was probably better looking, I think.

John was handsome. Too skinny for his time - but now would be hot.

I don't understand all of the mystique over the Kennedy's. The only one worth anything was Robert. Better looking than the others and a better person. Too bad he didn't make it.

JFK was overrated both in appearance and accomplishments and was married to a greedy venal ghoul . The less said about the skin crawlingly repulsive psychopath Ted, the better.

I thought Robert was very cute.

But Joseph was the best looking.

I can cry looking at Bobby. He would have been the best president ever. He very much wanted many of the things Bernie/Warren want.

I lived through the assassination of both Jack and Bobby. The grief over both was overwhelming but people seemed to take Bobby's harder than Jack's.

Jackie - I remember thinking she must've been a real pig to marry that pig Onassis. But then I remembered she had two kids to support, too. BUT then I had second thoughts: They're father was the fucking PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! Could you have any prouder parentage? And let's talk good looking: John Kennedy Jr? There will never be a match for that beauty. Gorgeous. Totally gorgeous. I often wonder about Caroline Kennedy. We watched her in the White House, then she was brought into all that Onassis shit, and then she suddenly married a successful NYC lawyer twice her age. Whaaaaat? Did the girl ever date? I wonder if she's had all memories erased from her brain or if she's able to just push aside her childhood or if she recreates it as some kind of fantasy. What the fuck.

Bobby was the better person and to see the second one gunned down was unimaginable. I'll never forget my father waking me up, as he did most mornings to go to school, and the first thing he said was, they killed Kennedy. I said, yeah I know, wondering why he'd be telling me about JFK getting killed. When it became clear to me what had happen I couldn't stop shaking. I had done a school paper on how great Bobby was the week before. I was hoping they despite my age I would be allowed to work at his local campaign office. He was the first politician I had actually stood up and took notice of. I was too young to care that much about JFK. I didn't fully understand the tragedy. But Bobby, OMG, to this day my heart breaks. I remember seeing it on TV. He was still awake those first few minutes as he lay on that floor and he said, "Don't touch me." Did he know he was dying. How horrible. I'll never forget.

That's not true. By that time, JFK and MLK had been assassinated. It just wasn't as shocking.
