Seems like a fake excuse to me.
Um yes, retard.

There doesn't seem to be a way to block both an OP and a thread simultaneously.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 22, 2020 4:11 PM |
Um yeah, live with it every day.

You're an ignorant, judgmental cunt OP. You deserve hypothyroidism
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 22, 2020 4:16 PM |
Op, go back to playing in the street little girl, you're obviously too stupid to live.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 22, 2020 4:17 PM |
OP is one of these people who've luckily never been sick in their lives and passes judgement at anyone who is as being weak. lazy and attention seeking

Fairly rare given Americans' underconsumption of iodine.

Yes. My best friend had thyroid cancer (at 35) and needed to have her entire thyroid removed, thus resulting in hypothyroidism. Since her body can no longer produce thyroid hormones naturally, she's stuck taking nasty hormone pills the rest of her life and dealing with all of their myriad side effects (weight gain, mood swings, frequent bouts of fatigue).

R7 um actually that’s exactly the problem. Since they removed iodine from bread and replaced it with bromide, both halogens that affect the thyroid, Hypo- cases have skyrocketed. There are other causes but this is the main one on a larger scale.

R7, not as rare as you might think.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 22, 2020 5:03 PM |
I misread it. I thought this thread was about Hyperthyroidism. Me scuzi!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 22, 2020 5:05 PM |
Yes, it is real. A friend of mine has Hashimoto's which has suppressed her thyroid function.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 22, 2020 5:11 PM |
I have it and that's the drug I take every day. One of many I should add.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 22, 2020 5:18 PM |
Uh, they have blood tests for it, asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 22, 2020 5:22 PM |
They have actual blood tests to determine if people have it, so I'm thinking yes...
However, it does seem like there are a lot of fraus using it as an excuse for being morbidly obese. That's not exactly how it works.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 22, 2020 5:23 PM |
I have Graves' disease (hyper), but this is talked about much more. I have read some who think it is BS and excuse some use for weight gain. If you're thyroid is removed though, you most definitely become hypo.

Is this what Kathleen Turner has?
My mother has this, takes Thyroxine for it. She’s fine but for her weight & skin which have basically melted into goo, sadly. It’s not hereditary, is it? I wanna head it off, if so.

Yes, my niece has Hashimoto's thyroiditis, diagnosed with antibody tests. She hates the fatigue and has to fight to keep her weight down.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 22, 2020 9:39 PM |
OP is an idiot. I have it. Maybe my doctor is faking my bloodwork, asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 22, 2020 10:03 PM |
R15 Thanks. That's exactly what I meant.
