Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, one of the first gay-themed mainstream Bollywood movies made in the wake of India's decriminalization of homosexuality in 2018, is being released this Friday (2/21); the movie features Bollywood hunk Ayushmann Khurrana paired with Jitendra Kumar, an actor primarily known for his appearances in web series, as a couple whose relationship isn't exactly celebrated by their families. Apparently, it's the first film passed by the Indian censors to feature a kiss between a male couple.
And I'm sure their anal hygiene is impeccable.

The number ‘Gabru’ is pretty catchy and the movie sequence it scores is quite funny, and I say that as someone who generally finds the Bollywood genre incomprehensible and impossible to fully immerse in because of the vast cultural differences.
If the rest of the movie is like this, then I think it will be a very successful gateway for a lot of new fans.

Let us know when Bollywood goes dark-skinned.

This is definitely a more positive portrayal of gay people than most everything I've seen in Hollywood movies and this is from a country that just recently decriminalized gay sex.
