Was she the Anna Nicole Smith of her time?
image wise, Anna Nicole was the Mansfield of our time.
intelligence wise, no contest.
Jayne could play the accordion and speak multiple languages.

Sophia looks envious of her talentS.

No, she does not at all, r2. Not even a little bit.
Rather, she looks worried that Jayne is going to let her huge bra-less tits fall out of her dress, and she admitted as much years later when she was asked about this notorious photo.

Look closely and you can see stretch marks on her breasts. Jane's IQ was 149 but she was beyond tacky. She lived in a grotesque pink mansion right on Sunset... she'd go out on her balcony and wave to the passing tour buses. By comparison MM was a much bigger star and lived tucked away at the end of a narrow alley.

R1 "could speak multiple languages" Ugh. That phrase is dragged out for every celebrity not known for their brain power. But have you ever heard them speak any other language? They know a few phonetic phrases and that's it. Like listening to a singer who claims to be multi-lingual. They just learn a song phonetically. You know, Melania supposedly speaks multiple languages!

I never bought the high IQ for JM. If it is true, it makes me think that the IQ test isn’t a very good evaluation of intelligence. She was a character, but she was a horrible actress with her B grade Monroe shtick. If she had been truly smart, she would’ve planned out a better career for herself.

Jayne Jayne Jayne Jayne Jayne Mansfield, you're so outrageous! 🎵

Thanks, r5!

sorry, it was the violin she played.
her daughter Mariska says she spoke them at home. she also did a lot of work abroad when she couldn't get work here, and was married to a foreigner so had more opportunity than most to actually develop real language skills outside of lessons.
having a good career is often about luck, combined with talent. also, sex-bomb has a very short career lifespan. Monroe also had a difficult time transitioning.
her house was profiled in magazines and had a famous heart-shaped pool, so one imagines that it was part of the image. especially that freaky shag bathroom.

No, she was the Anna Deavere Smith of her time.

She could have been Ginger Grant on "Gilligan's Island", but NOOO! She wouldn't lower herself to a TV sitcom.

Don’t we all.

Yes, r14. Her deadname was Norman John Baker.
