I think most people who came of age in the mid-2000s (and who were into alternative music) remember them. I loved Julian Casablancas. He always looked greasy and unkempt, but there was still something sexy about him. They were a solid band.
Probably one of the last few solid bands.

Two of the guys were lovers, right? One had a beard, Amanda?

I am assuming you mean Nick Valensi, R2—he was a guitarist in the band and was married to the insufferable Amanda de Cadenet. Were he and Julian lovers? I've never heard that before. Julian has always struck me as being very much straight.

Which makes me think how many other people would be beautiful gifted musicians had they only had time and funding to study and attend music classes?
It's like when you see rich people competing in equestrian sports. Events that not very many people can afford to compete in. So it's no surprise when you see someone like Princess Anne winning an Olympic gold medal.
