I absolutely love the Au Lait bar soap by the Scottish Fine Soaps Company; they make great body washes too. It recently dawned on me that the only place I have ever encountered their products for sale was either a TJ Maxx or Marshalls store. The more I thought about it, it seems that a significant number of products on their shelves appear to be exclusive to them. Where do they get this stuff from? Do these companies have an exclusive distribution deal with them?
Random products you can find only at TJ Maxx or Marshalls

Since they're only at these outlet stores, I'm assuming these are overstocks that just don't sell at other 'mainline' stores. I don't think anything is 'special' or 'exclusive' to Marshalls or TJ Maxx or Steins or Tuesday Morning or any of these outlets. It's just stuff that didn't turn a dollar at a regular retail store.

R1 that's what I thought, but there is a lot of stuff they have there that I have never encountered in any other store, Au Lait being one of them. Au Lait sells some of their products online directly via Walmart.com or Amazon, but when you Google it, the only retailers that carry it in-store are TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I know the company is based in Scotland, so the only thing I could think of is that maybe they're taking in overstock items from companies in the UK as well?

R2 If you like a product, it doesn't matter who sells it. Just be happy you can find it!

I put it in my coffee to make Cafe Au Lait!

My partner works at TJMaxx and told me the stuff they sell is actually the real deal. If they’re selling a Gucci bag for $500 it’s not a knockoff. Their stock probably is overstock or last years style. He said stock comes already boxed and priced. However, some items are a one time thing. He also said they get deliveries every day, so stock turns over fast, or is clearanced to move. He told me that the past few months there was a certain type of ceramic wear (white with writing on it like, coffee, plate, etc.) and a group of customers would be waiting for the store to open each morning so that they could see what new stock of this stuff arrived. He told me these customers were purchasing this stuff for $20 and reselling it on EBay for $100. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I found this Italian soap that smells incredible. Although there are several others of the same brand in a different scent, I can only find the flavor I like online. It’s triple the price online, dammit.

TJ Maxx has a "made in Italy" category of handbags. The different brands in this category are exclusive to TJ Maxx. The bags are better made by a hair than name-brand bags at the same price point. Here's an article about the "made in Italy" label in general.

R7, over the years I’ve gotten a few good bags from TJM. I don’t care for “designer” anything, but had two from Claudia Firenze that I loved. Wish I still had them.

R5, that ceramic stuff (RD) is awful. It's so over produced and made in China, I just don't see the appeal.

I've seen a lot of high end makeup there.

I wish they had better sheets , towels and pillows.

Now I'm curious about the ceramic stuff. Anyone have a pic?

I found a set of Bucellati candlesticks there (solid silver) for $50.

I use an exfoliating facial cleanser everyday and it's in my shower at home but for the life of me I can't remember the brand. I love it. Smells like sandalwood. Brookstone or something. I swear they had gift sets during the holidays prominently displayed throughout the store which also led me to believe that certain "brands" belonged to the chain.

You're not supposed to eat it, dear.
