Gay Baiting is a marketing technique for fiction and entertainment in which creators hint at, but then not actually depict, same-sex romance. They do so to attract ("bait") a gay audience with the suggestion of relationships that appeal to them, while at the same time attempting to avoid alienating other consumers.

Supposedly, it would be three different Spider-Mans meeting each other, and Andrew Hatfield’s would be the one with a boyfriend.

I just hope they keep Spider-Man’s boyfriend white and not make him black for the sake of diversity.

I would love to see Tom Holland's Spidey legs in the air

We Got This Covered is the film version of the National Enquirer. No.

I once read that Marvel has it in the contract for all licensing to Spider-Man that he cannot be portrayed as anything other than straight.

I'm sure they'll do it, and he'll have nothing but female love interests throughout the course of his film series despite being "bisexual".
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 13, 2020 12:02 AM |
I like this idea.

What R10 said
There will be some allusion to him having had an affair with, or more likely a crush on, a male character who is never seen onscreen and that will be it.

R1 Spider-man has been changed in a dozen ways since he was created. The Peter Parker from the TV Show in the 80s is nothing like the one from the comics of that time. The TV show Peter was handsome, buff, a player, and not at all nerdy.
Tom Holland's Peter Parker is very different from the comics. He hero worships Iron Man and the Avengers while in the comics Spider-man famously works alone unless he has no other choice.
The newer comics which portray him as a genius are very different from the older ones which just portray him as a pretty good, but not exceptional high school student.
If none of those changes bothered you but now you're mad he's bi, then you have a personal problem

Garfield wanted his MJ to be be played by Michael B Jordan
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 13, 2020 12:06 AM |
I doubt Michael B Jordan would have ever agreed to play a gay character, much less the gay male love interest of a male Spider-Man.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 13, 2020 12:07 AM |
I'd pay a LOT of money to watch Michael B. Jordan and Andrew Garfield be gay together

I personally won't rest until there's a demi-aro-enby Spidermanwoman of color.

Bring Tom wimpydude back and make him have a 3way with Zendaya and that fat Filipino dude!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 13, 2020 12:49 AM |
They should make him Trans - SpiderTHEY. And we have to guess what's between they's spidey legs - an arachnid dick or a spider twat.

Their version of bisexual will be light flirting and then a quick cut away to a kiss.... Followed minutes afterward when the boi love interest is killed by the chief villain, there by fueling sipidey's motivation for the rest of the film.
