I once went on a tour of the Tillamook plant in Tillamook, OR. I would recommend it. I remember finding whichever flavor of ice cream I sampled to be decent.

If you only tasted 1 flavor of ice cream that was “decent”, not even good. Why do you recommend the tour?

I can’t believe you are opening yourself up to the wrath that is Joaquin Phoenix just days after the Oscars!

R2, the cheese samples, and an entire look into how the whole factory operates.

So we should tour the factory to see the factory sights and to get a cheese sample?

R5, if you find yourself in Tillamook, yes. It's probably the most exciting thing to do in the area and comes highly recommended by Lonely Planet!

Mmmmmmm......ice cream!!!

the ice cream is just okay, really nothing special.

Agree with r8, nothing to write home about. I like their butter and their cheese is quite good, but the ice cream doesn't particularly shine.

I like Strawberry. i miss Tillamook ice cream. Their cheddar's available a few miles away from me, but never on sale.

I've had it and it's ok but I think Blue bell is better.

Besides they play the not half gallon thing but charge the same or more as a half gallon of BB.

Strawberry is their most popular flavor. Their ice cream sandwiches are good, with a nice wafer shell.

If you're going to get Tillamook ice cream, go for the local seasonal flavors, like huckleberry, hazelnut, Oregon cherry/strawberry, etc. It's good but not great ice cream, so getting a little of the Oregon specific edge elevates the experience a bit. For some reason, the birthday cake flavor seems to be eternally popular locally, but it's disgusting. And yeah, the ice cream sandwiches are very good.

I fell in like-a-lot-but with their Peppermint Mocha over the holidays. I've had creamier but their flavor game was on point

i don't care that their flavour is less spectacular than others.
i care that their ingredients list has everything on it that should be in an ice cream. and only a few things for shelf/texture stability. which is hard to find.
and yes, the local flavor favorites are great. anything with marionberries in it is wonderful.

Partner bought some vanilla just last night. It's fine. Nothing special - but then again it is just vanilla.

People are literally losing body parts in their ice cream facilities. Breyers is the other big culprit

Thank you for the endorsement R17, I was in a lot of stuff.
