Betty Ramsey or Carolyn Appleby?

Pick one

by Anonymousreply 33February 9, 2020 8:30 PM

I was sufficient

by Anonymousreply 1February 9, 2020 12:12 AM

Carolyn Appleby

by Anonymousreply 2February 9, 2020 12:34 AM

That snobby know-it-all, Betty Ramsey. What a Datalounger she would have made!

by Anonymousreply 3February 9, 2020 12:38 AM

Carolyn Appleby was a frau.

by Anonymousreply 4February 9, 2020 12:40 AM

Betty Ramsey, because she was played by Mary Jane Croft. I love her voice plus she got to play friends to both Lucy and Harriet Nelson, that is some goals!

by Anonymousreply 5February 9, 2020 12:42 AM

Carolyn Appleby was basically a frenemy whose loyalty could easily be bought with a cashmere sweater.

Betty Ramsey seemed like a true friend who continued being Lucy's friend after discovering the Ricardo's couldn't afford all that new furniture. And, she had no qualms about being friends with Ethel, who lived in the guest house.

I'm more of a Marian Strong gal myself.

by Anonymousreply 7February 9, 2020 2:46 AM

We’ll if that kind of gal you wanted you sure got a good one.

One day I realized my mom and aunt's friends weren't really friends; they put each other down, boasted about their kids' accomplishments, comparing them to their friends' children (little Stevie!)

I said to my aunt and mom once: all those Carolyn Applebies are not your friends!

by Anonymousreply 9February 9, 2020 3:04 AM

Little Stevie Appleby looks like a monkey!

by Anonymousreply 10February 9, 2020 3:11 AM

Betty Ramsey was kind of a bitch when she was Cynthia Harcourt however.

But Carolyn was definitely bitchier.

by Anonymousreply 11February 9, 2020 3:14 AM

Betty Ramsey, because her husband Ralph manages a TV station, and that could lead to my big break.

by Anonymousreply 12February 9, 2020 3:19 AM

I think little Bruce Ramsey was light in the loafers, if you get my drift.

by Anonymousreply 13February 9, 2020 3:27 AM

Bruce wanted to find out if Little Ricky was little all over

by Anonymousreply 14February 9, 2020 3:36 AM

I did like Carolyn's Hollywood episodes…

by Anonymousreply 15February 9, 2020 4:14 AM

Betty had exquisite taste, Carolyn did not.

You're forgetting about Betty-Carolyn's stint on the plane, with Lucy's lovely son Cheddar ... I mean CHESTER!

by Anonymousreply 19February 9, 2020 5:32 AM

Carolyn Appleby, cause she's early Lucy!

I'm ETHEL LOUISE ROBERTA MAE POTTER MERTZ , and you better NOT FORGET IT .

by Anonymousreply 22February 9, 2020 5:41 AM

r22- Yeah, it's bad enough the writers couldn't even be bothered to remember her name. Poor Ethel!

by Anonymousreply 23February 9, 2020 5:43 AM

Mary Jane Croft played three ILL characters: Cynthia Harcourt, Evelyn Bigsby, and Betty Ramsey.

Frank Nelson played eight: Freddy Fillmore, Henry the Waiter, Sergeant Nelson, Dickie Davis, Ben Benjamin, Train Conductor, Customs Officer, and Ralph Ramsey.

by Anonymousreply 24February 9, 2020 5:49 AM

And Doris Singleton play two characters: Lillian Appleby and Carolyn Appleby

by Anonymousreply 25February 9, 2020 5:55 AM

R24 Which was the character next to Lucy on the plane back home when Lucy tried to smuggle the cheddar cheese?

by Anonymousreply 26February 9, 2020 6:12 AM

How did Lucy and Ethel eat that huge thing of cheese and not be constipated for the next decade?

by Anonymousreply 27February 9, 2020 6:17 AM

R26, That's Evelyn Bigsby.

They didn't eat it all, R27. They hid most of it inside the band instruments. Now, how they got into the luggage compartment to do that is the real question.

That school was NOT top drawer!

Oh you're so right. I remember them fishing it out of the tuba. And it was all melted.

by Anonymousreply 31February 9, 2020 7:51 PM

Betty because of her prize-wining tulips and the fact her son wasn’t fat like Stevie Appleby.

by Anonymousreply 32February 9, 2020 8:06 PM

Patsy Ramsey, for the win.
