Lopez knows how to dress and how to look good. She’s also very charismatic and knows how to jump on a good opportunity. She understands business and knows how to market herself.

But she CAN'T sing OR act. We just want her to accept it and go back to stripping or where ever she came from. What she DOES have is an overall lack of self-awareness. She does not hear how GOD AWFUL her speaking voice is. Or how TONE DEAF her off key singing is, even after it's been auto-tuned! She stares blankly at the TV screen while the WORST actor on the planet attempts to emote authentically. And guess who it is? That's right Jenny. It's YOU!!! It's time to collect your spangly sparkly things and go back to "The Block", get fat, and become a pill popping, doped up, soccer mom!

Jennifer Lopez is s better Celebrity, then she is Actress and Singer.

But I still like her though. You can tell she really loves being in showbiz and that she really lives the Glamour part of being famous, that's her sweet spot.

She's just really good at being a Celebrity.

Yeah, I agree with the general sentiment. She's a serviceable actress, she's released some catchy songs that she was minimally responsible for, she is so EFFORTFUL on stage, but isn't a natural stage performer or, frankly, dancer. She executes all the choreographed steps, but there isn't a true dancer under there, the way there is with Shakira, for example. But, whatever, she's a massive success. She's a huge brand. And, at least there's SOME talent behind her celebrity as opposed to the K's and the YouTube stars of today.

She has zero passion for singing, acting, or dancing. Her only passion is being famous. And getting paid.

She can act- not great but ok in the right role. She cannot sing any better than a random person on the street. But she was and is clever and ambitious. She used tech and production to manage the resemblance of a pop career for a little while. And yes she can dance- she was a good Fly Girl.

Her music is so terrible. I like disposable radio songs as much as anybody but her stuff is so, so bad.

Her choice in acting roles isn't much better: junk.

She's been okay in "real" parts. But the truth is no one wants to watch her playing washed-out, unattractive and authentic parts. So I guess "Stripper" seemed like gold to her, because allowed her to be genuine as well as flashy.

It was a huge misstep trying to reinvent herself in those 2000, girl-next-door rom-coms. Trying to sell her with the cutesy, wholesome persona just wasn't being true to herself.

J Lo makes millions per films, made many millions off her perfumes and ads she did for companies and made wise investments. She also sees every penny spent. She learned from Selena.

I think her appeal is generational. I was in junior high/ high school when Jennifer Lopez really blew up in the early 2000s, so she will always be iconic in my mind. She might not be a critically acclaimed actress or singer, but her impact on the culture for people of color is unforgettable.

I remember her before iTunes, when they played her on the radio and being baffled by her horrible singing. I worked in the entertainment industry at the time and heard how horrible she was to crew, behind the scenes. I thought she would implode and disappear, but somehow she overcame all the shit talking, behind the scenes, and emerged victorious.

I saw her act and sing on an episode of Will & Grace.

She was funny and sang one of her better songs.

Her Will and Grace episode was good. Britney’s was better.

She was good in Out of Sight because Soderberg made her rein it in. Her music is the biggest joke since Milli Vannili, how she hasn’t been called out in Twitter World is strange.

R35 she specifically sought out those romcom roles and to be fair, they made her a superstar because they aligned with her real life of never ending tabloid romantic relationship stories. Jlo’s career flourishes because of her romantic relationships with equally famous or more famous men. When she’s single or when she was with Marc or those other random dudes (Casper), her career tanked. Those romcoms really helped to craft the Latino America’s sweetheart image she has now and the guys she was with in the movies were always white which sold her as someone who has a broad appeal and is appealing to straight white men.

I loved Jane Fonda's character hating her in Monster In Law and secretly hoped that it happened off camera too, blue blood Fonda looking down her nose at trashy Jenny from the block.

She can act and dance. She can't sing. But no worries because when her star fades and she can no longer croak her tunes, her amazingly talented and beautiful daughter will rise up and take the mantle and the Lopez legacy will carry on.

Rider "demands" are usually put together by handlers and assistants to keep the "artist" happy and anticipate their needs. The venues have an operations team to cover the requests in the Rider and then everything is charged back to the artist. So, JLo pays for all the stuff that is requested.

She was good in Selena, but that might have been because of Selena and the tragic story.

I don't remember her in the Cell or anything else. I think she got her success because she's likeable, cute, and has the personality needed to succeed and there was a big space for Latina American stars that needed to be filled.

Also, when you're traveling from city to city-- if you've never been to Chicago-- you don't know where to rent white couches, or where the nearest fried chicken restaurant is. Those riders aren't "demands" it's a list of requests for the venue to coordinate, because the Artist's people can't coordinate that stuff and oversee it from a moving bus.
