Prince Harry loses complaint against Mail On Sunday over 'misleading' wildlife photos

Britain's Independent Press Standards Organisation ruled against Prince Harry's complaint against the Mail On Sunday over an article published in April 2019 suggesting that he intentionally misled the public by failing to make clear the animals he'd taken pictures of were drugged and tied up.

British media standards organization rules in favour of tabloid in Prince Harry complaint. The Mail on Sunday said Harry misled the public by not revealing animals he'd taken pictures of were drugged. The prince said he had posted the pictures to highlight conservation efforts.

He is so arrogant.

by Anonymousreply 1January 30, 2020 4:49 PM

He's a loser. Literally.

by Anonymousreply 2January 30, 2020 4:59 PM

Bill Cosby had the same problem with his pics.

Oh God I'm actually siding with the Mail.

by Anonymousreply 4January 30, 2020 5:08 PM

It goes from bad to worse. The Mail is on a mission: don't they have a trial coming up with starring roles for Meghan and her dad?

by Anonymousreply 5January 30, 2020 5:10 PM

He's such a disgraceful, whiny little fart.

by Anonymousreply 6January 30, 2020 5:24 PM

A lifetime of love and goodwill destroyed in the blink of an eye by some elderly black woman.

by Anonymousreply 7January 30, 2020 5:31 PM

The media and especially the Daily Mail will be after the both of them now tenfold. It was a stupid move by Ginger and Meghana, as all they’ve achieved is to make their situation worse.

by Anonymousreply 8January 30, 2020 5:49 PM

It's going to be amusing.

Meghan is suing the Mail on Sunday about a letter to her father. Harry has just lost his complaint against the Mail on Sunday about his pics of tranquilized and tethered wildlife. The Mail on Sunday will now refuse to settle the lawsuit and will force the case to trial so that Megs and her dad can cut each other's throats in the witness box in front of the press and public in the gallery.

by Anonymousreply 11January 30, 2020 6:36 PM

How did this joke go from being a beloved, cheeky prince to such a whinging, petulant loser? He's a walking cautionary tale.

by Anonymousreply 12January 30, 2020 6:46 PM

He married a woman who encourages his worst impulses.

by Anonymousreply 13January 30, 2020 6:53 PM

I consider myself well informed about the antics of Dim and his wife yet I wasn't aware of this case. But NOW I am. Lol, Streisand effect. What a dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 14January 30, 2020 6:58 PM

Yes. He needed a wife who was a strong person, not a wife who was the stronger personality.

by Anonymousreply 15January 30, 2020 6:59 PM

What a dumb-ass. I had never heard about this drugging of animals. Since he fought it, now I know.

by Anonymousreply 17January 30, 2020 7:15 PM

OP beat me to it.

Sign of things to come? Such as, Harry and Meghan aren't the Righteous Royals they thought they were?

I wonder if this decision won't cause Meghan to think kindly of withdrawing her lawsuit on the basis of no longer being in the royal line of work so no longer caring what the UK public thinks.

And it does rather make Harry look like they whingeing hypocrite he increasingly presents as.

by Anonymousreply 18January 30, 2020 8:04 PM

He lost this one, but does it affect or weaken the case that Meghan has against the MoS? Many here have opined that she had a solid case, due to UK copyright laws and how her letter was published.

by Anonymousreply 19January 30, 2020 8:54 PM

R19-the MoS doesn't care if it wins or loses. It's going to make a fortune if this goes to court. It's salivating over what will be revealed in depositions.

by Anonymousreply 20January 30, 2020 8:57 PM

R19 - Technically, this decision has no bearing whatsoever on Meghan's lawsuit. IPSO isn't a part of the judicial system.

But it could somewhat further erode the public image of the Harkles as pathetic victims of a lying press, and heroic warriors for truth and justice.

It works against the narrative they've been (in their minds) building of Woke Folk who love the earth, love helpless animals, never mislead the public, and believe in a free press.

by Anonymousreply 21January 30, 2020 9:04 PM

R20 - I believe depositions, unlike most other unsealed court records, are not considered public records.

That said, they become public records if a, or any part of, deposition transcript becomes part of court hearings, absent a stipulation or agreement.

by Anonymousreply 22January 30, 2020 9:07 PM

R22-the law just changed in the UK to allow such things to be made public. Talk about timing!

by Anonymousreply 23January 30, 2020 10:01 PM

Yes, I get that he hates the press, I think his reasons there are valid. And if, when he stepped down from royal responsibilities, he'd also announced that he was retiring from public life and he never wanted the press to write about him again - I'd have loved him for it!

But no! He's stupid enough to think that he can CONTROL the press! Which can't be done, and even making the attempt is going to make so many enemies that anyone with sense would have talked him out of it. But the wife doesn't have sense, she thinks she can not only control the press but make money from doing so, the idiot. Those two really do bring out the worst in each other, and they really do seem to be talking each other out of anything resembling common sense.

by Anonymousreply 24January 30, 2020 10:59 PM

William is the smart one.

by Anonymousreply 25January 30, 2020 11:07 PM

William has the luxury of having the smart planners around him. His life is mapped out for him. Harry's life as the second son is not planned other than "duty" in general. I'm no fan of the Harkles, but William is not necessarily smart, but he is given everything on a gold platter by people who are planning the rest of his life. You would be smart too if your every major life decisions were already set in stone.

by Anonymousreply 26January 30, 2020 11:20 PM

Sure the Mail is obviously a nitpicking asshole, and animals were not harmed, they were being relocated. This is a non-story that he couldve let it go, but no, he is so thin skinned, he wants to remain popular and get press coverage, but only fawning coverage.

by Anonymousreply 27January 30, 2020 11:29 PM

R5 I don't think the Mail really cares about the outcome of the trial , they win in clicks no matter what . The messier the thing the better for them . I believe Meghan and Harry hoped for a quick settlement .

by Anonymousreply 28January 31, 2020 12:09 AM

William is absolutely smarter than his brother.

by Anonymousreply 29January 31, 2020 12:10 AM

The Mail is insured for this kind of crap. They will force this to a trial, no matter if they have to pay the costs. If Meghan discontinues she will suffer shame and humiliation but will also have to pay the Mail's costs; the Mail's insurers will pursue her for the costs, assuming insurers are involved.

by Anonymousreply 30January 31, 2020 12:13 AM

What a corner they’ve painted themselves into!

Arrogant little prick.

by Anonymousreply 31January 31, 2020 12:23 AM

[quote]William has the luxury of having the smart planners around him

Harry had them too. But he ignored them, and then got his own people, and from what's been reported alienated and ignored them all.

The judgement has been appallingly bad. There was no need for this complaint, it was obviously just being done to make a point - and it blew up his face. It now ranks alongside cutting off the press for their lies whilst hailing the Daily Borisgraph as being an example of an honest newspaper, and trying to make taxpayers pay for their security in a string of decisions that seem like they almost want to be completely unsympathetic.

by Anonymousreply 32January 31, 2020 12:44 AM

The father, Charles, and courtiers have no doubt tried to talk Harry out of these actions but he is a vulnerable survivor who is pussy-whipped by Meghs who doesn't really understand a family which has been ruling one place or another for 1,500 years.

by Anonymousreply 33January 31, 2020 1:28 AM

Is William the smarter one?

This is from 2005, but covers the "raw intelligence tests" from Sandhurst of both brothers.

by Anonymousreply 34January 31, 2020 3:24 AM

William is much smarter than the dim ginger as I don't think the privy council was the one who picked Kate for him. The selection of great life partners requires both the head and the heart. And by the way, Harry has his own palace advisors too, but he hardly ever listened to them after his disastrous marriage to a z-list TV actress. Maybe he has more faith in her degree from Northwestern U than in his own advisors. What a dim-witted whinger.

by Anonymousreply 35January 31, 2020 4:48 AM

They were both coddled. And yes, perhaps William is more rational and level-headed. Some may say ruthless and cold. You decide. However, and I'm no fan of Harry, but it does a terrible number on your head when you know you're number two your whole life and you really don't matter. The advisers can build up Harry as much as they could, but all the attention and the future goes to the heir to the throne. There have even been recent reports that Will and Harry were nitpicking about certain titles and roles given to Will--and this was before Harry stepped down. And there is new report that Harry is annoyed that William was just named as the special rep to the Church of Scotland. And Harry was annoyed about that one which came after Harry stepped down so he should have expected it. There were reports this past fall that Harry was annoyed that he received less money form Charles than Will did.

There are so many issues besides just Markle just being a grifting con artist. Harry clearly feels inadequate to Will and this is as a result of living in Will's shadow (with some help from Markle egging on Harry).

Elizabeth's father was not prepared to be king when the Edward abdicated. Her father was the second son. Andrew is the second son and got into a whole lot of trouble throughout the years because he had little to do--and Andrew was the actual spare for a long time before William was born. And now Harry feels inadequate to Will as the second son. Even Margaret led a life of leisure and trouble as the second daughter. There simply isn't enough to do and attention to give to the second son or the second daughter...in other words, "the spare."

by Anonymousreply 36January 31, 2020 5:43 AM

The hilarious part is that Markles degree is in communications hehe...she lied about the double major. She has one bachelors degree in communications period. Stop making excuses for Harry. He is 99% more privilaged than the rest of the world. He has the means to help himself.

And Harry was annoyed about that one which came after Harry stepped down so he should have expected it. But the reports over Wliliam's titles? That's a new one. Receipts, R40?

by Anonymousreply 42January 31, 2020 10:45 AM

The Earl of Dumbarton is VERY sexy in your picture OP. Totally suckable... Mmmmmmh Henry, come to daddy...

by Anonymousreply 43January 31, 2020 10:49 AM

I didn't see any of those stories, but it is true that William does get a bit more money from Charles, because William has a larger family. Harry only became a father less than a year ago, William has three children, and given that the taxpayer shelled out 2.5 million for Harry's home, and Charles paid for the fixings and furnishings, Harry complaining about money is on a par with him whingeing about his life after visiting some of the poorest countries in the world.

As for the titles, Harry resigned his job. What did he think, he was going to resign, continue to get paid, and continue to get appointments?! Especially after ignoring the Queen's request not to put the public announcement up until the details were ironed out with Charles?

If these stories are true, then the money/title nitpicking was undoubtedly due to pressure from Meghan. Harry, on his own, wouldn't bother, he knows the Game of Thrones too well, he imbibed it with Diana's milk.

You can just hear the bitchy, ambitious, petty wife in the background, "You're as good as he is! You should get just the same as he gets! You're Charles' son, too! Look what they live in - and look what they gave us! Stop being such a weakling! Demand your rights!"

"But screw your courage to the sticking point!"

by Anonymousreply 44January 31, 2020 11:55 AM

If Meghan drops her case now then she will be forced to cover the MoS’s legal costs - which would be humiliating and also pretty expensive. At this point she can either withdraw and lose face or double down and try her chances at trial.

by Anonymousreply 45January 31, 2020 12:10 PM

The Harkles tried to half-resign, or something. Harry is stll going to be the figurehead of Sentebale and Invictus charities, showing up to be photographed and so on. I guess he will drag his musty ass in for those events and then slink out of town. Markle thinks she will continue her patronage, such as it was, of the National Theatre's US efforts, but I doubt that will come to anything. I mean really. They couldn't have actually believed zipping back and forth to UK when convenient for them was a workable plan. Could they?

by Anonymousreply 46January 31, 2020 12:18 PM

They will be shamed and attacked by the British press for the rest of their lives.

by Anonymousreply 47January 31, 2020 12:26 PM

Are there pics online of Meghan being pushed in front of a bus too?

by Anonymousreply 48January 31, 2020 12:32 PM

R47 Markle is already fading from memory, boring as she is. She will pop up from time to time but has no mystique or charisma to propel sustained interest. Harry supposedly wants to be a normal guy with no press attention, and he'll be able to mostly do that if he wants (not that I believe he will since he is thirsty as hell).

by Anonymousreply 49January 31, 2020 12:56 PM

R44, people have compared Meghan to other conniving women (Becky Sharp, Wallis Simpson), but I think Lady Macbeth is my favorite. Always pushing, needling, and delusional to boot.

by Anonymousreply 50January 31, 2020 1:04 PM

R47 Megs won't be around much longer. She will provide ample media fodder during the divorce, but after will cease to be relevant and slide into oblivion.

I'm betting Ginger eventually ends up a remittance larrikin in Australia. Seems the perfect place for him.

by Anonymousreply 51January 31, 2020 1:07 PM

If Harry headed off to quietly raise sheep and drink beer in Australia, he'd probably be happier than he's ever been kn his life!

Meg won't have it, though.

by Anonymousreply 52January 31, 2020 2:21 PM

For the rest of their married lives. After that, he will be redeemed, assuming a suitable second marriage, and she will be a curiosity.

by Anonymousreply 54January 31, 2020 4:35 PM

Can we start calling him Prince Diana now?

by Anonymousreply 55January 31, 2020 4:35 PM

Yes we can. I like that -- Prince Diana it is!

Prince Di should have left the BRF to marry Chelsy way back when. She's rich, his fam likes her, and she can, or could, put up with him. They would have had the life traveling and just being rich together. Oh well.

by Anonymousreply 56January 31, 2020 5:36 PM

R56, he should have. But he’s got a private axe to grind and his wife has goaded him to grind it publicly.

by Anonymousreply 57January 31, 2020 6:34 PM

Is that a Leica M Series camera in the photo of him?

by Anonymousreply 58January 31, 2020 6:38 PM

by Anonymousreply 61January 31, 2020 8:11 PM

I recall reading the "reveal" by the DM and the DE claiming that Harry got as much money from Charles as William, even though William has more kids and more royal duties to tend to.

And a degree in communications from the top US university didn't seem to help MM communicate with the plebs at all. So useless.

by Anonymousreply 62January 31, 2020 8:24 PM

R61 this Harry is not hotter than my Henry. My firecrotch. My gingerbread. I want Henry. I want him deep inside me.

by Anonymousreply 63January 31, 2020 9:15 PM

Frankly, I don't cheer on anyone here: not the sleazy Daily Mail, not these two John & Yoko types, nor all you queens licking your chops at the antics over all of them. I love bitchy gossip as much as the next gay, but this has all become tedious.

by Anonymousreply 64January 31, 2020 9:43 PM

Whst's your point R64?

by Anonymousreply 65January 31, 2020 10:43 PM

They really have played it badly. Yes, they succeeded in creating a nine-day's wonder by "stepping back", and made themselves even more famous, but at the cost of alienating 98% of Harry's fans.

How do you monetize contempt?

by Anonymousreply 66January 31, 2020 10:54 PM

[quote] But no! He's stupid enough to think that he can CONTROL the press! Exactly. Meghan does not realize how that British tabloid press works, and Harry is too stupid to realize the problem he's creating for himself. It doesn't matter if they live in the UK or not, they are going to be UK tabloid fixtures forever. There won't be any TMZ-style deals made with the Mail, etc.

by Anonymousreply 67January 31, 2020 10:57 PM

Harry has a bit of Diana's charisma. Even though he's made made some bad choices, he might be the PR "winner" if they divorce and he returns to the BRF fold.

by Anonymousreply 68January 31, 2020 11:36 PM

R42. Reports of arguing between Will and Harry about money and titles were reported by the royal family and monarchy journalists on Good Morning Britain. I watched it. It's on YouTube if you want "receipts."

We're having a discussion here. I don't have to keep coming up with "receipts." I am telling you what I saw and heard on Good Morning Britain, sort of the British version of NBC's Today Show. I saw the interview. It was all part of the feud between William and Harry. It was reported on by reputable journalists who follow the BRF.

by Anonymousreply 69January 31, 2020 11:39 PM

I don't get why r69's reports are even controversial. It's entirely plausible-- even likely-- that two brothers are going to fight over money they get from their dad. And they've grown up in a world where titles matter, so of course they are going to fight over that too. Will is going to be king. Of course he's going to get more privileges and more money. Harry seems like a dim-witted, spoiled brat who never understood that and lets it bother him to this day. It's not fair, I guess, but nothing about a monarchy in 2020 is fair or logical.

by Anonymousreply 70January 31, 2020 11:52 PM

R65, was I not speaking English?

by Anonymousreply 71February 1, 2020 4:03 AM

I saw that too, R69. When you hear the royal reporters speaking directly, it's often interesting. Of course, they have a vested interest to appear in the know, but it's clear that they must have a lot of inside information. I hadn't realized, for example, that some of them often speak one-on-one with the main characters.

In one of those interviews (maybe this one) the reporter mentioned that William was upset that Harry was given his Commonwealth position (whatever it was) by Granny. So it's not just money and Meghan tensions between them.

by Anonymousreply 72February 1, 2020 5:07 AM

Does Harry have a bit of Diana's charisma, R68? I think he had a run of being the cheeky royal bad boy, then the brilliant image rehab as boyish humanitarian. But now that he's a balding 30-something father, I don't think he can charm anyone by goofing around with kids or Usain Bolt. The puppyish dopiness that worked well when he was a lad is now embarrassing--see the Disney premiere pitch.

And instead of the empathy that Diana exuded when going about her good works, Harry seems to place himself at the center of it all ("can't get up in the morning", "traumatized by flashing lights").

by Anonymousreply 73February 1, 2020 5:17 AM

I agree R73 he has very little of Diana's magic. Whether she felt it or it was a bloody good act, you can truly see she was a gifted people person.

Harry, in contrast, comes across as a simpering, vengeful, entitled sod. See the mess they made of their Africa tour, him spending 15 minutes in a hospital as a blatant photo op then telling off a reporter who called him on it. He does not exude empathy and compassion like Diana, more like self-pity and anger.

by Anonymousreply 74February 1, 2020 9:02 AM

Harry is getting downright ugly as he pushes past 35 - balding frizzy hair, beady little close-set eyes like his grandfather's, scraggly teeth . . . he looks like he doesn't bathe often enough. Charisma??

These two may or may not turn up wealthy on their own, it remains to be seen, but they ought to hope they do, because by the time they hit their mid-forties the public are going to be so done with them and their boring, fridge-magnet pontificating and still trying to make bank on their long-ago days as real royalty, despite probably not having seen Harry's family for the better part of ten years.

Looking forward to the christening of the second kid, which will probably be born in the US, and whilst Charles may hike over the Pond for it, the godparents will be all Meghan's celebrity pals - and Meghan, I assure you, won't keep THOSE names secret.

Or maybe Harry and Charles will draw a line in the sand and insist Meghan have the baby in Britain.

by Anonymousreply 75February 1, 2020 12:41 PM

I’m thinking that at this point, there won’t be a second child. Meghan has gotten what she wanted out of the situation (global celebrity) and so like her mother she will be one and done.

by Anonymousreply 76February 1, 2020 2:07 PM

I kind of agree... if she was still stuck in the UK she might do another for leverage but she's got everything she wants except the move to L.A., pending, and the inevitable divorce.

Besides, children are very unkind to her figure. She's nearly forty - she may be if she admits to 38 - and she may still have delusions of - well, I've seen her in Suits so I won't call it acting - ... appearing on screen again, reciting memorized words.

by Anonymousreply 77February 1, 2020 2:30 PM

Anyone else hear that supposedly Markle and her mother arent really close at all ? I heard something yesterday that said she only sees her mother once or twice a year, and rarely communicates with her. Boy,ole Megs is a piece of work indeed .

by Anonymousreply 78February 1, 2020 2:40 PM

It's always a red flag when someone has that many misfortunes with relationships. She clearly has problems with her own family, made problems with his, had how many marriages? There's a point where you have to realize you're the problem.

by Anonymousreply 79February 1, 2020 4:01 PM

Prince Harry is lucky he married a black woman. Nobody can criticize him now. Those pictures are fucking disgusting. I want to see him and his pig whore wife druggged and tied up.

by Anonymousreply 80February 1, 2020 5:21 PM

"Nobody can criticize him now."

Where have you been, R80? They both have been getting nothing but criticism.

by Anonymousreply 81February 1, 2020 5:32 PM

r81, Anytime I see anything about them on social media, It's stuff about how anyone who doesn't like them is racist.

by Anonymousreply 82February 1, 2020 5:46 PM

You need to expand your reading beyond social media, R82. The press in general and the polls in the UK have been very pointed in their criticism of both of them and their "stepping down" from their royal duties, their refurbishing costs of their UK house, etc.

by Anonymousreply 83February 1, 2020 5:49 PM

I haven't watched any of her father's home movies, but wasn't there one from her high school(?) graduation where Doria's father commented that they never saw Meghan any more?

Perhaps she began dropping her mother's family early on?

by Anonymousreply 84February 1, 2020 6:53 PM

[quote] I won't call it acting - ... appearing on screen again, reciting memorized words

by Anonymousreply 85February 1, 2020 8:02 PM

Acting isn't reciting, dear. Sorry it was too subtle for someone at your level.

by Anonymousreply 86February 1, 2020 8:17 PM

I’ve been saying that forever. She and Doria aren’t close. Doria has the good sense to keep her mouth shut and she behaves in a dignified manner for the cameras. They keep it cordial for mutual benefit.

by Anonymousreply 87February 2, 2020 2:24 AM

I read somewhere before their wedding that Meghan had a lifelong obsession with Diana. I didn’t believe it at the time, because I quite liked Meghan then and never liked Diana. I believe it now. Meghan is using the same playbook. Press leaks, playing victim, staged photo ops, celebrity friends, choosing to support charities/events that give her maximum attention.

by Anonymousreply 88February 2, 2020 2:45 AM

HIs status has already changed.

by Anonymousreply 89February 2, 2020 3:07 AM

R74, children of charismatic parents often don't have the charisma the parent has. And his mother was extremely manipulative, using those children in her own way. He's susceptible to manipulation.

Meghan's mother is a trained social worker and a yoga instructor. No reason she should get in the middle of some media squabble and she's disciplined enough to avoid it.. She shows up a couple of times a year, poses for some low key photos and then disappears again.

SOMEONE'S new to datalounge (sideeyes r93)

by Anonymousreply 95February 2, 2020 10:02 AM

R91, that’s what I wonder. I’ve had this argument here, already. They claim Northwestern is “an elite university”, practically Ivy League.

As you said, it’s a good school. “Elite” is stretching it.

Their alumni must be fiercely loyal. And slightly delusional.

by Anonymousreply 96February 2, 2020 10:54 AM

I've heard that too, and its simply not true. Good school, yes. Elite, hardly. Not even close.

I can’t wait until they start in on the US press. Will they use Sunshine Sachs again? Or has she burned that bridge, as well?

[Quote] Is that a Leica M Series camera in the photo of him?

Leicas are cameras for doctors and people with more money than brains.

Harry's using a Fujifilm X100.

The NY Post’s Isabel Vincent (a Canadian!) reported that MM would be making multiple guest appearances on Mulroney’s wedding show. Other outlets (Markle-friendly ones like Town and Country and Glamour) rushed to deny this.

Where do these stories come from? How could a Canadian investigative reporter for a huge daily just make up a story like that, out of whole cloth? Not even a tease or speculation, but stated as a fact.

by Anonymousreply 100February 2, 2020 12:59 PM

I'm really curious about that too r100

by Anonymousreply 101February 2, 2020 1:05 PM

Maybe because it was a total fabrication, R100, but the Post published it even after CTV denied it?

It's bad for her because it got legs, denials or not. Her reputation isn't good enough for her to get the benefit of the doubt. Whatever really happened, who doesn't believe it more likely than not that for a period of time she was somehow right in the middle of Mattel Mulroney's tacky TV show? She's an opportunist with poor judgement. Of course she was in the mix.

Deny. Deny. Deny.

And Imelda Staunton wasn't playing the Queen in the last series of The Crown.

Until she was.

by Anonymousreply 104February 2, 2020 1:31 PM

I‘ll bet anything that the stupid bitch ends up convincing Ginger to agree to do a reality tv show similar to the Osbournes.

by Anonymousreply 105February 2, 2020 1:45 PM

What I imagine, in my fevered conspiracy theory imagination, is that the NY Post was fed one story. And her favorite outlets were fed the denial. People talk about it and tune in to see “will she or won’t she?”

Even getting on the bad side of the NY dailies won’t hurt her. All she has to do is claim they’re racist.

R100 - The tabloids do make stuff up out of whole cloth, routinely. The problem is, they also report "real" stories based on "leaks". The problem is telling one from the other.

E.g., the stories with titles like, "Kate Feels This That or the Other" and stories like it are made up, as one thing Kate knows how to do is keep her mouth shut. She probably doesn't tell anyone except her husband, sister, and mother how she really feels and none of them would then rush to call the DM. Ditto for stories about what the Queen is feeling, or William, or Charles. In fact, William has been known to "leak" false stories to selected individuals and then, if it hits the tabloids, he knows who the traitor is and cuts him off.

But stories like the appearance on the Ellen Show (which EdG never denied although everyone else did) and the endorsement company are harder to pin down as wholly made up. Either someone is leaking false info or there is or was a grain of truth and once it leaked the Harkles rowed back on a decision, at least for the time being.

Stuff like "Meghan and Harry are hoping to move to L.A." - well, duh, that's like announcing a story that the baby will be a boy or a girl. It's a good guess.

So you have your totally made up stories, stories based on leaks by sources (like Dan Wooten at the SUN having the early scoop on the Harkles leaving the BRF), and stories based on very good guesses that may or may not be based on leaks.

It's easy to spot the "Kate Incredibly Hurt By . . ." and "Queen admires Meghan so much she's going to write her a letter saying so!" stories as made up bullshit that the BRF wouldn't bother to deny, or they'd be doing it every day.

But the genuine leaks v. good guesses are harder to spot.

Was bread in the fridge a DL con-trah-versy?

by Anonymousreply 108February 2, 2020 2:02 PM

R107, agree. The latest was regarding whether H&M deserved a curtsy/bow now that they’re not using titles.

Their antagonism toward the press is ill-advised.

by Anonymousreply 109February 2, 2020 2:35 PM

R108 - No, but which discontinued foods and flavours should be brought back have been . . .

Not to mention tiara preferences.

by Anonymousreply 110February 2, 2020 8:10 PM

Prefernces in a tiara? I missed that. I did notice years ago they sell tiaras at Harrod's. Anyone can be a queen in England.

by Anonymousreply 111February 3, 2020 2:18 PM

Yeah, well, they sell tiaras on ebay.

Yeah, well, this was long before there was eBay, R112.

by Anonymousreply 113February 3, 2020 4:04 PM

R111 - "Anyone can be a queen in England."

As one evening visit to King's Cross would make clear.
