Seinfeld did a number of episodes about eating the top of muffins. I think George only ate the top, and put the rest back. Then they opened a bakery or cafe called something like, “You’re the Tops”, which sold only the tops of muffins.

My Mom taught me how to make a proper, flaky pie crust. She also taught me how to make profiteroles.

Did she teach you how to iron the pleats in your dress and to make a dress with lots of gussets?

I was all like “What you talkin’ ‘bout Willis?” mentioning a crust on Chicken Pot Pie? Where I come from, and my heritage, Pennsylvania Dutch, our pot pie doesn’t have a crust, but I see things are different elsewhere.

I am SO trying to stay away from all this pastry in order to shed pounds. Its my one great love
My mother is basically a lousy cook buy she made the best shortening crest and we would always have a cherry pie on Valentines Day from cherries we picked and canned in Michigan each summer..

[quote] our pot pie doesn’t have a crust,
Pot pies have crusts. If yours does not, it is not a pot pie

R5--I went on a weekend getaway to a property owned by some rich people and they had an outdoor kitchen with a wood burning oven. The first night one of the group made naan and we cooked it in the oven and it was so delicious. The next night we made dozens of small pizzas in the oven and I have never stuffed my face with better pizza. The oven was so hot they'd start to bubble and bake and blister and char almost immediately. They were cooked in about 5 minutes and just sooo good. Fresh mozzarella Margherita right out of the oven cannot be beat.
R19---Fellow Carb Royalty here, I would love a slice of that Valentine cherry pie!
