The show has two more seasons left, with season five beginning Sunday February 23rd at 10pm EST.

Looking forward to it. Bump this thread when ep 1 premieres, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 21, 2020 1:54 AM |
FUCKING FINALLY! They should be filming all of the two seasons now because the longer it takes, the more ridiculous it looks that this is supposed to predate Breaking Bad with Jimmy practically using a walker before he becomes Saul.

I love Bob Odenkirk. Who could've predicted, back in his Mr. Show days that such a deeply soulful actor was underneath all that silliness. Well, there's still a little silliness left...

Didn't someone here once say that he's pretty much married to a fan who kinda stalked him or was at least obsessed with him?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 21, 2020 3:24 PM |
They're waiting too long between seasons. I'm done with this series. They either need to close-up the timeline between series OR offer all the new episodes at one time.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 21, 2020 4:17 PM |
When they wait too long, we forget things that have happened already and will undoubtedly come up in the new episodes and we'll miss the reference.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 21, 2020 4:19 PM |
Season 4 will be available on Netflix February 9th. You’ll have two weeks to watch it. Seasons 1-3 are already on there. That’s plenty of time to binge the whole series before February 23rd.

Oh wow, Hank!

I heard the same thing but no proof. Maybe he married her to calm her down.

[quote]No longer interested; two more seasons? Get it over with.
Agreed. Mike ain't getting any younger and it's getting ridiculous that he's essentially Harrison Ford in that he's pushing 80 and able to beat up guys in their 20s.

Oh my bad, I didn’t see all these newer posts. 😂

Season 4 now available on Netflix.

Am I the only fan of the show who actually liked Chuck and felt sorry for him?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 17, 2020 9:07 PM |
I didn't like him R16 because he really believed that Jimmy could never change, he always saw him as his fuck up little brother. But I did feel sorry for him because he didn't understand the extent of Jimmy's sociopathy. Fortunately Kim is seeing it sooner than later.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 17, 2020 9:14 PM |
R16, I liked Chuck. I think the problem is that he was so straight-laced and by-the-book that people prefer rooting for the more fun guy even if he's ruthless and dishonest.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 17, 2020 10:37 PM |
I’ve been binging on Netflix and I’m at the season 3 finale, “Lantern.” Seeing Chuck tear his house apart like that is so depressing. It’s such a sad end. I guess I just have extreme empathy for people suffering from mental illness.

Nobody’s watching? I loved the season 5 premiere.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 25, 2020 1:08 AM |
I also loved it. Was floored by the Robert Forster appearance. I had no idea they filmed anything before his death.
Unfortunately the show just doesn’t get much love on DL.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 25, 2020 2:24 AM |
Shit, I forgot about it. They already did two episodes?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 25, 2020 2:38 AM |
I love this show. Just saw Episode 1 and will download Episode 2 as soon as it’s out on Prime.

Was this episode confirmation that Gus Fring is gay?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 25, 2020 3:10 AM |
A future episode this season is called Dedicado a Max. That may prove once and for all that Gus is gay, although it has been suggested a few times that Gus and Max were lovers. That would give Gus more reason to hate the Salamancas. Sad, when you think of how Gus and Hector die. Gus is a brilliant character. Lalo is also becoming quite interesting.

Weak episode.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 5, 2020 1:16 AM |
I'm finding this season, as well as the previous one, less interesting than the first three. The show lost something with Michael McKean's departure. Also, it feels like Rhea Seehorn and Jonathan Banks have been increasingly demoted to the level of secondary characters. Strangely, as much as loved "Breaking Bad", I don't find all these drug trade characters all that interesting on BCS. The legal world aspect of the show was its more interesting part but the emphasis seems to have shifted in this and the previous season.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 5, 2020 3:04 AM |
I liked it, R28. I just didn't like the nonsense with Mike beating some guy up. Ridiculous. I like Kim.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 5, 2020 3:05 AM |
Kim is the heart of the show. I love watching her.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 8, 2020 11:02 AM |
What is Howard up to? Why would he suddenly hire Jimmy? Is his business failing? Is he involved with any of the drug dealers? Guilt? Is this just a plot to keep him around now that Chuck is dead? Is Kim about to fuck up her partnership and relationship with Mesa Verde? The old guy will probably get a huge settlement, but Kevin and Paige won't be happy and probably fire her. Was she ever mentioned on BB? What happened to her character?
I think the problem with the show is that nothing really happens and it is incredibly slow. It is entertaining while watching but I usually forget about it soon after. I still remember a lot of the BB plots even several years later, but i can hardly remember any storylines of BCS after the hiatus.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 10, 2020 4:08 PM |
Honestly, I couldn't care less about Mike. He's not interesting to me.
The show -for me- has become finding out what happened to Kim in the end. And Nacho.
We already know what happens to most everyone else.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 10, 2020 4:12 PM |
The stunt that Saul pulled in the courtroom was one of his very best. Loved Kim’s nod of approval and the judge’s exasperated “Mr. Goodman!”

[QUOTE] Honestly, I couldn't care less about Mike. He's not interesting to me.
Mike was very interesting up until this season.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 12, 2020 12:34 PM |
Ridiculous how they had him beating up guys who could easily kill him. Even before they took him down, he was throwing punches like a guy more than half his age. The actor is 73 and looks it.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 12, 2020 2:25 PM |
I’m loving BCS, but it’s true that some of the actors look a lot older than they did on Breaking Bad: Mike, Gus, and now Steve Gomez. And Todd looked WAY older (and fatter) on the Jesse sequel El Camino.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 12, 2020 10:26 PM |
Not much you can do about that. OTOH Hank scarcely looks a day older.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 12, 2020 11:20 PM |
R36, I think the point of that scene was to show that Mike wanted to get beat up. The first time he had a run in with that group, he was full of anger and adrenaline type strength. The second run in, I'm pretty sure he wanted them to beat him to death. He had given up and didn't even fight back.

I miss Chuck.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 13, 2020 12:41 AM |
Me, too, R40. I don't think anyone could humanize "Jimmy" or show his true vulnerability as much as his own brother. Even Kim.

I finally saw the new one and THAT was a good episode! I don’t know what happened with “The Guy for This,” but this was a return to form for BCS.

I agree, r45. Can't wait for the next episode to see how things play out.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 25, 2020 9:44 AM |
I thought Kim had enough and would finally dump him and not offer to marry him. WTF.
She seems majorly bored with her job and life, but none of that is Kevin/Paige's or her law partners fault. It seems they have all treated her well and don't deserve this.
Still don't know what Howard is up to and why he's still interested in Jimmy.
Is this already the end of Lalo? I doubt it.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 25, 2020 11:15 AM |
This was the best episode of the season so far. It went back to what the show did so well in S1-S3.

Everybody loves Kim but to me she is an Eeyore, always a downer and I can't stand her stupid curley-q ponytail

Did you know Rhea Seehorn pronounces her name “Ray?”
[quote]That need for Jimmy, and for the show, to pay Kim the respect she’d earned by that point radically altered Saul in multiple ways. It slowed Jimmy’s transformation into the scoundrel Saul Goodman to a measured pace that more closely parallels the tragic moral descent of Saul’s most infamous client, Walter White. And it forced the creative team to essentially split the series in two, with Jimmy and Kim on one side and all the drug dealers on the other.
[quote]These changes remind Gilligan, only on a grander scale, of when he abandoned his initial plan on Breaking Bad to kill off Jesse Pinkman early in Season One. “Thank God, we got as lucky with Rhea as we did with Aaron Paul,” he says. “But this is different, because Jesse, God bless him, he and Walt were not really equals in their character dynamic. But these two characters are definitely equals, and most of the time, Kim is Jimmy’s better — certainly his better angel.”
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 25, 2020 4:39 PM |
I didn't know, I thought it was pronounce Ree-ah - isn't that how Rhea Pearlman, Danny DeVito's wife's name is pronounced?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 26, 2020 7:26 AM |
That was a great article, R54.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 27, 2020 12:50 AM |
Lalo and Nacho are delightful to watch. Jimmy/Saul will end up representing Lalo, which should be fun. Saul’s takedown of Kevin was great, as was everything about Kim’s response.
I saw a YouTube video with Rhea Seehorn, and her name is pronounced Ray. It is actually her middle name, but she didn’t like her first name, which was something common that I can’t recall now, not Susan or Debbie, but a name like that.

by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 28, 2020 7:18 AM |
Thanks for sharing that article, R54. I thought that Better Call Saul would become boring with the death of Chuck, but the relationship between Kim and Jimmy has certainly held my interest.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 28, 2020 12:33 PM |
I was really interested in Gus in BB but I can't get into him in Better Call Saul. I am more interested in Jimmy's world though I assume he soon gets involved in that side. I miss Chuck.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 28, 2020 3:09 PM |
Saul never met Gus in BB. They already teased this by introducing Gus in BCS wordlessly sweeping up in the background when Jimmy goes to Los Pollos Hermanos. Jimmy already is “involved.” He represented Crazy Eight when he was interrogated by Hank, but he never becomes part of Gus’s orbit. Just Mike’s.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 28, 2020 6:15 PM |
It sucks that the series will be ending soon. Time sure flies. This is the only show left on TV that makes me anticipate the next episode from week to week, old school.

I’m so over this show. It disappears for well over a year, the storylines drag on and on and on. Every episode ends abruptly and nonsensically. It just came back and it’s already highlighting its final three episodes. I’m done.

There are lots of reasons people liked Breaking Bad. Not all of them are repeated in BCS.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 1, 2020 4:01 AM |
This show has a different style and pace than Breaking Bad. I probably prefer Breaking Bad, but both shows are great. Rhea Seehorn is magnificent, and it's a crime that she hasn't even been nominated for an Emmy for this show.

I think they have ruined Gus and Mike on BCS, they have taken away their mystique
by Anonymous | reply 71 | April 1, 2020 1:51 PM |
I didn’t want mystique. I wanted to know more about them and that’s exactly what they gave me. The episode with Mike as a cop back in Philly alone made the entire BCS enterprise worth its weight in gold.
The only thing that’s left is their continued pussyfooting around Gus’ sexuality. Last episode when he went into his hotel room with that twink bellhop, I thought Gus might offer him some money for “comfort.” But that was my depraved mind going one place while Gilligan and friends took us in a whole different direction with the connected suites. I don’t think we’ll ever get an answer, so there’s still some mystique for you after all.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 1, 2020 2:11 PM |
I don’t think there is any doubt now that Fring is a grieving widow.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 1, 2020 4:17 PM |
I think there’s plenty of doubt. That’s our own personal interpretation. The writers clearly don’t want it laid out in plain sight.

Oh well, I guess this poster was right when he suggested the cartel will do something to Kim. She is toast. Jimmy is such an asshole and is so greedy he doesn't really understand what he is getting himself and Kim into. Lalo was offering him a way out today, but he was too greedy.

R80, I was just going to ask the same question!
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 8, 2020 1:02 AM |
Gus wants Lalo out of prison because he’s still running the cartel’s NM ops from jail—ordering Nacho to burn down one of Gus’s restaurants. . That’s why Mike gave Saul the evidence about witness tampering that he used to get Lalo bail. It’s not entirely clear what Gus has in mind.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 8, 2020 2:39 AM |
I think that Gus wants Lalo out of jail so he can jump bail and flee to Mexico.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | April 8, 2020 2:46 AM |
Mike saving Saul was ridiculous. Saul was driving on a remote dirt road for miles. How did he follow him? His GPS tracker? He said he had no idea about the ambush, but was suddenly conviently close enough to help and hiding on a hill close by to shoot the attackers?
Who were the guys that attacked Saul? A man at the Salamanca compound called someone and asked if "he" was still interested in information. Who is "he"?
Lalo is crazy. I'm not even sure he will flee to Mexico. It seems the witness is the only evidence linking him to the murder. They will kill her and he will move on.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 8, 2020 11:10 AM |
R83
I would think Gus wants Lalo out of jail so he can kill him.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | April 8, 2020 1:14 PM |
^No, he already said he can't kill him in prison or anywhere else bc they would immediately blame him. That's why he plotted with Mike to get him arrested for murder. This didn't work so they now got him out of prison and hope he will flee to Mexico.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | April 8, 2020 1:28 PM |
I’m sure Vince Gilligan and company will explain this, but won’t Lalo want to know who helped Saul escape? And somehow I doubt that the cartel will kill Kim. If that happened, would Saul really still be willing to work with them into the Breaking Bad days? I do love this show.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 8, 2020 1:46 PM |
Well, I think Saul and Nacho are double agents and work for both sides. If Lalo finds out, there will be consequences. Poor Kim.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | April 8, 2020 1:51 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 89 | April 8, 2020 3:12 PM |
Moisture in the air condenses on the cold surface of the jar and pools in the bottom.

R84, Just like he did in Breaking Bad, Mike planted a tracking device in the gas cap of Saul's car. Before Saul and Mike pushed the car off a cliff, Mike removed the gas cap.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | April 10, 2020 3:23 PM |
Did Jimmy mention being married once in Breaking Bad? I seem to remember him nonchalantly saying something about never doing it again.
How it should end possibilities:
1) Kim dies because of Jimmy's fuck up 2) Kim dies because of her fuck up 3) Kim dies at the moment they were happiest and about to pull something off (but how could Jimmy get over her death?) 4) Kim fucked up and had to go into hiding using the van service, Kim and Jimmy reconnect and he leaves Cinnabun. 5) Kim's been in prison and is about to get out.
Something with 4 sounds best.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | April 10, 2020 4:01 PM |
R84 Agree. The actor playing him is old and had a hard time putting the gun back in the holster. Though, I suppose it doesn't take much movement to move a rifle a few inches to line target up in crosshairs.

Saul was not a cartel consigliere in BB. He introduces Walt to Gus via Mike, but he doesn’t know Gus.

Of course it’s merited. The question is what exactly happens, and that could be a million different things—a number of which don’t necessarily involve death. The show zigs and zags so much, who knows what it will be.

Telling Lalo that Mike had followed him and had killed the would be robbers would have brought Gus into the picture and would have created trouble for Jimmy and everyone else.

Thanks. I didn't ask the question, but I was wondering the same thing myself. I wish I could binge watch this, but having to wait a week between episodes sometimes I forget some of the plot points.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | April 15, 2020 10:18 PM |
LOVED the Kim/Lalo scene -- Rhea Seehorn continues to be fabulous. Her face as Lalo starts explaining why he keeps asking Jimmy to repeat the story, and she's simultaneously hoping to find out what REALLY happened in the desert but dreading hearing the truth... brilliant.
As for what might happen to Kim: I'm not sure she'll be killed. I don't think Jimmy would have become the Saul Goodman we all saw in Breaking Bad if his beloved wife had been murdered because of (being linked to) him. It would completely devastate Jimmy, and the timeline between the events of BCS and those of BB isn't that long.
The flash-forwards to Jimmy's post-BB life, working at Cinnabon, are more in line with what he'd be like if Kim had died. A broken man hiding from his past.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | April 16, 2020 12:12 PM |
You guys think they will kill off a popular character if there is still one season left? I think Kim is safe for now, but not sure what will happen to her next season.
We should be more worried about Nacho. Seems like Lalo is on to him.

by Anonymous | reply 120 | April 16, 2020 2:37 PM |
Nacho was not in BB.

Maybe she gets tortured by the cartel and let freed and refuses to have anything to do with Jimmy anymore. Yeah Jimmy is getting morally depressed now but he can't stay in this contemplative state of ennui. He has to bounce back to be the affable BB Saul. He simply cannot do that if Kim gets whacked.

At this point, I’m not sure even a waterboarding session in Tijuana could get Kim to leave Jimmy. It looks like the only things that might separate them are her death or Jimmy being the one who walks away.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | April 20, 2020 12:11 AM |
Maybe to save her. He walks away to save her. The fearful look in his eyes when Lalo took him she was a looker.

Fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | April 21, 2020 12:17 AM |
So, without spoiling anything, why didn't Nacho simply, you know?
by Anonymous | reply 134 | April 21, 2020 4:35 AM |
Nacho did was he was told to do. Lalo got a lucky break, and you only get one shot with a guy like that.

Nor really. Most of the girls in my law school class were already borderline psychopaths.

So, what happened to Nacho? Did someone pick him up like planned ?
by Anonymous | reply 139 | April 22, 2020 12:29 PM |
Unknown R139. I suspect that Nacho was supposed to travel back to safety with the assassins after they finished their mission. I'm glad Lalo has survived to terrorize everyone in the final season. Did I read somewhere that on Breaking Bad Saul referred to Lalo as being alive?
by Anonymous | reply 140 | April 22, 2020 1:43 PM |
Lalo is a very entertaining villain -- as menacing and lethal as he is jovial. The shot of the SUV window rolling down to reveal his grinning face was great.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | April 22, 2020 1:53 PM |
Rhea Seehorn is fantastic as Kim. I don't understand why she doesn't get any Emmy love...
by Anonymous | reply 142 | April 22, 2020 2:26 PM |
All we know is Saul thought Lalo was alive in Season 1 of BB when Saul was introduced. Walt and Jessie kidnap Saul, and he’s afraid it’s Lalo behind them.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | April 22, 2020 4:41 PM |
Gus's highly qualified hit men were really shitty guys. Wouldn't it make sense to surround the compound to make sure nobody gets away? Wear night vision and use surveillance equipment. I bet all drug lords have escape plans and tunnels or panic rooms. They were very unprepared and definitely not professional. Why didn't Nacho plan an exit strategy? He could have put something in Lalo's drink (date rape drug) or shoot himself after the plan failed, but he instead ran away like a little pussy.
I really like this show but the seasons often drag on and have very little highlights.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | April 22, 2020 4:58 PM |
Woah, gripping season-ending.
Of course Lalo was going to get away, the guy is a great villain and adversary for Fring. I agree, R141, he is very enjoyable.
I felt sorry for Nacho as he wanted out and was dragged in because of his father...but i think he's going to get it now.
Great finale.

This B team illustrating why Gus needs Mike who we already know from Breaking Bad will recruit and lead a top quality efficient enforcement organization.

[QUOTE] This B team illustrating why Gus needs Mike
Indeed. Mike’s gonna have to be the one who ends up killing Lalo. He’d be a dead man already if Mike was the one in charge of that operation.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | April 23, 2020 1:47 AM |
I say Kim will end up having to change her identity with the vacuum guy. How Saul comes to know him will have to be a major plot point next season. Or maybe it'll be Nacho. Someone is going to have to use that guy.

That question is just an excuse to share this:

Gus had a man on the inside and his hit men planned this lackluster hit job? Lalo is a rich man obviously, but his home looked like a supermax prison. Not a lifestyle I would enjoy. He's basically a prisoner in his own home.

Mike would’ve been waiting for Lalo at the end of that tunnel, gave him a quick grin and then put two in his head.

Definitely, R157. They should have sent him to do the job, however that would have been too easy.

We should’ve known that Lalo would survive when it became clear that Mike wasn’t involved. It was always going to come down to a showdown between Mike and Lalo. Mike is “the guy for this.”

^I rewatched a couple of episodes and did not remember the guy Kim and Jimmy scammed at the hotel bar (the one with the Bluetooth headset talking loudly about trading) was also in Breaking Bad. Walt first met him at a bank (Mesa Credit Union though, not Mesa Verde lol) and later set is car on fire at a gas station.
What else did we miss?

Help me out, here. I'm missing why they hate Howard so much. It wasn't Howard who rejected Jimmy when he graduated from law school; it was Chuck who didn't want him in the firm. I've been watching this from season 1 and I honestly cannot remember any reason why they should despise him as much as they do. It was a long time between seasons so I'm obviously forgetting something really crucial.
Please help me.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | April 24, 2020 6:36 PM |
Jimmy (and Howard) blame Howard for Chuck’s death. Of course, Jimmy set up the final crisis by sabotaging the malpractice insurance, but Jimmy doesn’t think things through when it comes to his own behavior.
Howard was always a dick to Kim.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | April 24, 2020 6:41 PM |
R183 Thank you! That's what confused me - why would they blame Howard for Chuck's death when it was definitely on Jimmy's head. Although Howard did shame Chuck by forcing him to retire from Hamlin, Hamlin and McGill. Howard wasn't ALWAYS a dick to Kim. He shared with her the fact that it was Chuck's decision to refuse entry into the law firm. That humanized him a bit. But, yes, now I remember that awful scene in the restaurant when he lorded it over her about how HH&M paid her law school tuition. And how great it was when she slapped that check on the table, repaying every penny! That explains Kim's hatred of him but why Jimmy's? Why did he feel compelled to damage his property and humiliate him in public? He knows Howard had nothing to do with his being rejected by HH&M. Can it be that simple that Jimmy "just doesn't think things through"? He was a great con artist; he's definitely able to see the beginning, middle, and end.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | April 24, 2020 7:09 PM |
It’s not only on Jimmy’s head. Jimmy didn’t think Howard would fire Chuck. That’s on Howard.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | April 24, 2020 7:42 PM |
R161, Gus Fring, when Mike said Nacho would not get a call, said it was, "a mere technicality."
So he has moles at a telecom company, perhaps.
I'm still amused by the whole 'everyone has flip phones' prop decision and holdover from Breaking Bad. It's funny.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | April 24, 2020 11:52 PM |
I thought the most telling scene was when they meet the Mesa Verde people after Howard demoted Kim and she was desperately trying to find new clients to impress him and get out of the basement. He totally ignored her and when they arrived, he suddenly turned into this robot with a fake smile and cordiality. The minute they left, he told her someone else would handle the Mesa Verde account and she already had enough on her plate with her basement job. He is a totally fake, cold, petty and vindictive asshole. Both Kim and Jimmy know he's a fake piece of shit and who doesn't deserve any respect.

Isn't BCS taking place in pre-smartphone era though? 2002-2007? I think Kim has one of those indestructible Nokias everyone had at the time. The batteries still lasted a week and we didn't have to worry about data.

Does anyone know when the next season starts and if it will be the last? I hung on for this last season and it was OK (3 stars out of 5) but the writers really need to start tying it all together if next season is the wrap. And if it isn't the end, I give up. I'm tired of being teased.

I put it all right there in R1. When it will start is impossible to say since the last one just ended a few days ago and nobody is filming anything with the pandemic still raging. The sixth and final season was planned to air in 2021 but who knows now.

Does anyone remember what happened to Tuco on BCS? He goes to prison for assaulting Mike and then Hector forces him to retract his statement. But what happened next? Nacho is running the business and Lalo arrived to help. What happened with Tuco?
Years later on BB he is back in Albuquerque running the Salamanca drug business and then Hank shot him in the desert.
by Anonymous | reply 192 | April 25, 2020 1:12 PM |
He went to prison. Nothing else happened.
by Anonymous | reply 193 | April 26, 2020 12:31 AM |
Probably wishful thinking here, but I don’t think Kim will be murderer by the cartel next season. As others have pointed out, this would not work with Saul being so jovial at the beginning of BB. Also, Kim is probably the most beloved new character introduced by this series into the BB universe. And BB/BCS is not Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. They don’t kill off main characters for the shock factor. Look at Jesse Pinkman. He was supposed to be killed off early on in BB, but in the meantime he had become such a beloved character that he was spared. What I can foresee is something bad happening in the last season, as a result of which Kim or Saul will walk away to protect the other party.

[QUOTE] There is an inevitability to this journey as we enter the final season that every viewer must reconcile as Saul snaps into place with Breaking Bad. But the show must also end on its own terms as a separate series, and in that regard, co-creator Peter Gould is emotionally preparing us for what’s coming.
[QUOTE]“We have a lot of ideas about where Jimmy and Kim are going,” Gould said. “There’s some ideas which I am so excited about, but there is also a lot of sadness to where this is going.”

AMC's been running promos for it all this week.

I purchase every season before the first episode even airs. This is the only show where I’ve done that. I know I won’t be disappointed and will spend the rest of my life binge watching the series yearly, so why not own it outright? God knows how long it will remain on Netflix before we hear about some mega deal AMC struck with another streaming service and all of a sudden it’s gone. With the streaming wars you can’t count on anything anymore, so if you really love a show you better buy it.
