Just watched it. So awful. So so so awful. I have never seen this amount of bad acting in my entire life. Rob Lowe's son is cute, but he can't act for shit. He had one expression the entire time, he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Like the bad acting wasn't enough, don't get me started on the plot, or the writing, or the woke shit. How many boxes did they check for this crap? Muslim? Check. Trans? Check. Gay? Check. It's just so incredibly fake. I like the original, where the diverse cast is realistic. The original doesn't come across as trying too hard, this one does. Adding insult to injury, the writers think throwing a couple of famous actors can make up for the show in itself being shit, LOL. In Lone Star, a torndado kills and destroys but they spent about 15 minutes on it. Why not show multiple characters searching and saving citizens. They must be using different writers.

The episode was a good fit for the series, though I did miss Tarlos. You SJW complainers need something new to bitch about.

John Lowe has done some acting before and was in that Netflix Christmas movie along with Daddy Rob and Kristen Davis last year. His other credits were on that canned Fox show The Grinder from several years back. Maybe, he has decided to pursue writing more instead of acting unlike the other celeb spawns who are all over TV shows these days. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick's daughter has been in several TV shows, Andrew McCarthy's son is on a Netflix show, there is the Carrie Fisher spawn Billie Lourd all over FX, the Gummer Girls, and a bunch of other kids of actors.

The episode was very feel-good. Not that it's a bad thing. Nice set-up for Owen's archenemy.

I like how both the spin-off and the original show promote camaraderie amongst their main groups without any sinister and devious intent. Helping Mateo at his exam is a great example in this episode.

I liked the opening set up of the dog with “rabies”. And the actor playing the newbie did well with his scene in which he expresses his fear of being deported.

Hate this new character who they are setting up to be Lowe’s nemesis.

Just watched the latest episode and I think it's cool that the gay characters are included in non-gay related storylines. T.K being a good son and supporting his dad and Carlos being a good friend to Michelle by having her back.

The show will probably get renewed since it is successful but it's really bad. I haven't even watched last week's episode... completely forgot about it. There's just way too much Rob Lowe and he's no Angela Bassett. The original 911 is much more of an ensemble, better characters, superior rescues (even in season one before it was a hit).

Plus Lone Star pays the gay couple dust and cut a lot of their scenes so Lowe can talk about his limp dick. They played all the beats of the relationship in the first 2-3 episodes then dropped them. I assume the last episode, which finished filming yesterday, will throw the fans a bone to keep them around for season two.

R277, saying 9-1-1 is better than Lone Star is like comparing flavors of Pepto-Bismol.

The cast on the original on 911 has good chemistry. Most of the Lone Star cast chemistry is awful. The eventual pairing of Rob and Liv's characters will be awful.

Unless they actually make Buck and Eddie a couple, instead of gaybaiting, I won't watch the original 9-1-1

This was bad. I started watching for the gays but the show is just too uneven and I won't be coming back for season 2. I have never seen the original 911,so I don't know if it has a similar structure, but I dislike the vignettes that this show does. I just find it odd.

And I feel sorry for the actor who plays Carlos. He has had zero development and the TPTB have even admitted it. Pathetic. I thought it was dumb of them to feature a scene of Tk and Carlos at the end saying they make a good team when that's impossible. They have had zero screen time together and don't even know each other. We got a scene of TK opening up to his firefighter family but the writers couldn't bother to write a scene explaining why TK is suddenly all about Carlos? Apparently all thats coming in season 2 but it definitely felt like a bait and switch.

I love how TK and Carlos are suddenly boyfriends even though they never had a real scene together after the 3rd episode. Hate when character development happens off screen or from a deleted scene.

I don’t know, maybe I’m an easy sell, but I liked the finale and I liked TK and Carlos. I willing to wait for more character development in season 2.

The show isn’t Shakespeare, but for what it’s intended to be, it’s great.

Well, it’s seems that they are taking their time to develop that relationship. It can’t be rushed.

The original is pure crap. I really tried to give it a chance since the show seemed to show some promise at first. The plot lines turned out to be way too over the top to be taken seriously and I lost all interest in the show. I quite like the season finale. TK has his identity crisis after waking up from the coma (the scene with the kid, who shot him, is quite nice) and his romantic moment under the Aurora Borealis. Given that it's an ensemble show TK is probably the most fleshed out minor character compared to the other team members like Paul, Marjan and Mateo who just had a B-plot in one episode for themselves.

r296 Seriously. I don't know how ANYONE can be happy with the TK Carlos moments. They were not earned at all. Yo can't have a scene at the beginning of the episode saying they don;t work or whatever, then do a complete 180 at the end of the episode with TK saying they make a great team. It was laughable how bad it was. The scene with TK an the firemen at the end was nice, but it should have been cut in favor of a scene of TK explaining his newfound epiphany or whatever for Carlos. At least TK has had multiple scenes with the firemen. He has not with Carlos at all so it made the final scene with them with that dialogue juts all the more trite.

Show writers actually need to do the work to make moments and scenarios believable. They didn't even bother with these two. Quite frankly, it would have been smarter for them to have their final scene be the one the two shared at the beginning of the episode calling it quits, and then when the new season came they could've tackled this in a much better way. But they got lazy and chose not to do the proper legwork and thus we have a cheap reunion.

You can always tell when a show is written by a straight guy by the way they treat their gay characters.

They asked that already and the show runners said it would be difficult. One would have to travel, either to Austin or LA.

So it might not happen at all.

It got renewed for season 2. I hope there is better writing for TK and Carlos in season 2. But, my expectations are low.
