Millennials right now are at the same point Boomers were in _____?

I would say the late 1970s.

Except millennials have created precious little of value.

by Anonymousreply 1January 10, 2020 8:45 AM

early 80s

by Anonymousreply 2January 10, 2020 8:46 AM

Never?

by Anonymousreply 3January 10, 2020 8:50 AM

Chevy Chase looks hot there.

by Anonymousreply 4January 10, 2020 8:52 AM

the point of marriage and having first children

by Anonymousreply 5January 10, 2020 9:00 AM

Do the math.

by Anonymousreply 6January 10, 2020 9:07 AM

We have better drugs.

by Anonymousreply 7January 10, 2020 9:16 AM

What is Chevy wearing?

by Anonymousreply 8January 10, 2020 9:39 AM

Doing the math, Millennials in 2020 are at the same point Boomers were in 1985, i.e. when they were long past being hippies and into being go-go 80s Reaganaut yuppies.

by Anonymousreply 9January 10, 2020 9:49 AM

Culturally, like the 1970s.

by Anonymousreply 10January 10, 2020 9:56 AM

I mean the 2010s for millennials was like the 70s for boomers.

by Anonymousreply 11January 10, 2020 9:58 AM

I hated every second of the 2010s.

by Anonymousreply 12January 10, 2020 10:03 AM

The Boomers hit the 1970s "Me Generation" years when they were already well into careers and raising families, while Millennials delayed both and, on average, make less (adjusted for inflation) than Boomers. They also have student loans to pay off on top of making less.

I think that's why so many of the selfish, vapid types during the 2010s version of the "Me Generation" weren't Millennials as you would expect, but instead were literally children, Zoomers who had a little disposable income from their parents. Millennials couldn't go spend their paycheck on coke and bribing doormen on the weekends like Boomers did.

R12 It gets better. This is your decade. Hang in there

Millennials are quietly catching up.

by Anonymousreply 15January 10, 2020 10:17 AM

They might be, it'll be interesting to watch.

I'm worried that the 2020s will be even more insufferable than the 2010s were, though.

by Anonymousreply 16January 10, 2020 10:24 AM

Baby boomers did not really take over until the mid Bill Clinton Newt Gingrich 90s, and at that point, they were all in their 40s.

That young politicians like Mayor Pete and Tulsi are entering into the conversation this early on is probably proof that millennials will be a factor even earlier on.

by Anonymousreply 17January 10, 2020 10:28 AM

Millennials are behind the tech boom: everything from Twitter to Uber.

So they most definitely have made their mark.

by Anonymousreply 18January 10, 2020 10:29 AM

So they're going to become sellout fascists now?

by Anonymousreply 19January 10, 2020 10:30 AM

R19 I hope not, but possibly

by Anonymousreply 20January 10, 2020 10:33 AM

Block thread impulse kicked in immediately after reading “Millennials”.

Doing it now.

by Anonymousreply 21January 10, 2020 10:44 AM

I was thinking that about Belushi..

by Anonymousreply 22January 10, 2020 10:54 AM

^^in response to R4

by Anonymousreply 23January 10, 2020 10:54 AM

Kindergarten, OP.

by Anonymousreply 24January 10, 2020 10:55 AM

Millennials will be power hungry

by Anonymousreply 25January 10, 2020 10:56 AM

OP is correct.

by Anonymousreply 26January 10, 2020 11:04 AM

Nose candy decade

by Anonymousreply 27January 10, 2020 11:10 AM

RIP Gilda.

by Anonymousreply 28January 17, 2020 8:06 AM

I feel like we’re back in the early 70’s. A corrupt president, uncertain future with nukes, shitty ecology, withdrawing from a bullshit war that we spent a fortune on for nothing. Sound familiar?

by Anonymousreply 29January 17, 2020 8:25 AM

Very late 70s.

by Anonymousreply 30January 17, 2020 8:39 AM

Or 1980, 81.

by Anonymousreply 31January 17, 2020 8:39 AM

1980

by Anonymousreply 32January 17, 2020 8:53 AM

the baton passing moment apparently.

How do you figure?

by Anonymousreply 34January 17, 2020 9:13 AM

R7 You don't have Quaaludes .

by Anonymousreply 35January 17, 2020 9:18 AM

R34 Pure MDMA Molly plus Pills that will keep your dick hard . Purer coke

by Anonymousreply 36January 17, 2020 9:25 AM

Why does everybody think there are only two generations?

by Anonymousreply 37January 17, 2020 9:38 AM

R17 is correct. I'm sick of the revisionist math which claims Boomers have been in charge since the '60s.

by Anonymousreply 38January 17, 2020 9:51 AM

Different eras.

by Anonymousreply 39January 17, 2020 10:03 AM

1983

by Anonymousreply 40January 30, 2020 10:35 AM

OP They actually look a lot like Millenials.
