I loved Tuesday. She was pretty and talented. Very good in ' looking for Mr Goodbar '. She seemed to have everything. WHET you Tuesday?

Loved her in Pretty Poison. It shows how cute blondes take advantage of closet cases like few other movies.

I think she's just another one of those people who was a little too prickly and eccentric to have a sustained career in Hollywood. Often as not she turned up in small supporting parts in stuff like Thief (and she was invariably great).

She was bonkers in Lord Love a Duck, seducing her dad into buying her cashmere sweaters.

Apparently she's bipolar and didn't want projects that would expose her too much. She's still alive. Anyone knows her whereabouts? Did she inherit some of the Weld $$$$?

by Anonymousreply 4January 7, 2020 8:02 PM

She was adorable.

by Anonymousreply 5January 7, 2020 8:17 PM

In what way was Tuesday Weld an heiress?

by Anonymousreply 6January 7, 2020 9:05 PM

She's related to the guy who invented welding.

I think she lost her looks rather quickly. The last time I saw her in a movie she played Robert Duval’s and looked like she had seen better days.

I had NO idea Lylah Clare was originally a television play......

Bill Weld, former Gov. of Mass. who's running for Pres. against Trump on the GOP ticket, is distantly related to Tuesday.

She supported her family from childhood, not one of the wealthier branches of the Weld family. Batshit crazy mother.

by Anonymousreply 14January 7, 2020 10:18 PM

What's tragic about her, OP?

by Anonymousreply 15January 7, 2020 10:21 PM

Her singing voice was eerily similar to Connie Francis.

Her father was from a wealthy branch, but he died when Tuesday was a child. The father's family offered to raise the children and see to their education [italic]if[/italic] the mother walked away and never came back. She wouldn't give up the children. She put Tuesday into modeling and then acting to support the family.

Welds are old money. I lived in Weld Hall my freshman year at Harvard - it was built with funds from the Weld family.

What happened to Tuesday? It became Wednesday! And Hollywood doesn’t go for booze & dope & old actresses!

by Anonymousreply 19January 7, 2020 11:04 PM

R15 Weld's singing voice was indeed Connie Francis before fame. Connie dubbed for Weld and Jayne Mansfield.

by Anonymousreply 20January 8, 2020 2:00 AM

Tuesday weld = not tragic

by Anonymousreply 21January 8, 2020 2:04 AM

I thought she was a witch.

The Interview posted by r2 is great. She walked into the interview like she was walking into Panera for lunch with purse and sunglasses on. Very pretty.

R11 Falling Down with Michael Douglas. She was as big as a house (and not that old, maybe late 40s).

Sounds like a Brooke Shields situation where the father (who wasn’t in the picture) was old money WASP, knocked up some trashy girl and never wanted to see her again. So as a result she turned to her baby daughter to start supporting her.

by Anonymousreply 24January 8, 2020 8:55 AM

Just like Stella Dallas, R24!

by Anonymousreply 25January 8, 2020 11:22 AM

Oscar nominated for "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" and rightly so.

by Anonymousreply 26January 8, 2020 11:29 AM

Warren Beatty must have been pounding her plenty when they were on Dobie Gillis together.

by Anonymousreply 27January 8, 2020 11:30 AM

Dobie....
