YES!!! Lea Michele as Elphaba in the new movie WICKED

Let's pull for Lea getting the role. She is talented and will ensure success for the film. Can anyone name somebody better for the role, please don't say Vivian Vance.

Michele would ruin the movie.

Elphaba is supposed to be likable. Not hated.

Hearing all those horror stories about her diva-like behaviour makes me really glad her post-Glee career went absolutely nowhere. Miss Sarfati tried to be a big movie actress, a pop star, a writer...and failed miserably at all of that.

Vivian Vance!

Dinah Shore

I doubt you'll find many who want to root for The Widow Monteith, OP.

She's third rate at best.

Ethel Mertz

Mary Jane Croft

Nah ... but in her "Madame Mertzola" drag, she's a shoo-in for Madame Morrible.

Linda Lavin!

Michele??! God, no

by Anonymousreply 12January 3, 2020 10:57 PM

I'm too young and pretty for the role.

Adele Dazeem

Jake Orion can play the Prince

I love Lauren Ambrose but she's now a tad "mature" for Elphaba.

Isn't the Musical about witches around High School age? I've never seen it.

by Anonymousreply 17January 3, 2020 11:05 PM

No thanks.

She is more appropriate for the original Margaret Hamilton treatment of the character.

by Anonymousreply 19January 3, 2020 11:15 PM

Pretty sure they'll want stars for these roles, not washed up tv actresses. She might still be bank on Broadway, but she's less than nothing in the movie industry.

Kristen Bell and Anna Kendrick Should play those parts

by Anonymousreply 21January 3, 2020 11:17 PM

Meryl can play the slutty mother who fucks the Wizard/travelling salesman.

by Anonymousreply 22January 3, 2020 11:23 PM

She'd be better for Glinda. Elphaba is supposed to have an intelligent, reserved, subtle quality to her that Lea isn't capable of pulling off. She's been in Rachel Berry mode since 2009.
