"Last night, I did something that I do not regret. I leaked my phone number on livestreams and got called by streamers. I'm gonna leak my number in the title of this video. Now, if you wanna call me, just wait until after it is 2:30 in Ohio.... I'd be glad to talk to you and answer some questions. Don't forget, keep it kid-friendly because I'm only 12. So if you wanna call me, I guess you can call me this morning if you see the video quick enough"

"Yesterday, I had court. I got charged with menacing for scheduling a fight with a kid, showing him what I would do to him, and then selling tickets for the fight, and then telling him that the ticket holders will come after him if he did not go fight and um, I've already had problems with this kid before. It was I believe, November when we last had our problems, yeah November....I'm trying to change my ways"

Transcript of now deleted YouTube video on Harley's channel titled "Im scared..." from October 2018:

"What’s up? It is Harley Dilly. Probably one of the worst day of my life.

So, basically, I, um, was at school and I had a science test and I finished it and my computer says 1% battery left so I get to the next class and I put it on the charger as quick as possible but it didn’t charge. None of the computers would take a charge. So, I took it back and I had to fill out a complaint and that’s one of the most expensive parts of the computer and my mom said she’s not paying anything. That’s when I got home. So then, my mom wanted to go with her to go get a friend and I said “I don’t wanna, I have work to do so I wanna go home and stay.” She said no, we argued for about a good five minutes and then she snapped. She said she was gonna call the police and she said she already did. She said “who do you think that first call was to?” and she said it was the police, but I knew it wasn’t because she wouldn’t do that because I went to my school, I went to talk to my assistant principal because he’s like the only person I can really trust in this. So, I went to talk to him and he told me that my mom never called the police, so she lied to me to get me scared.

She locked me out of the house, so right now I’m outside, the house is locked. Um, it is 3:30pm, I haven’t ate anything and I still haven’t got to get my work done. My mom is gone, she won’t answer the phone. So right now, I’m the only one outside. I got nothin better to do, so what’s the point? So I thought I would stream this because I’m not doing a video of this.

I legit was scared because I thought I was gonna have to go to DH for 30 days because if I get another complaint to the police, I’m going to DH for 30 days. I mean, I’ve already took a YouTube leave, but I’m tryin to do stuff guys. If you knew what was going on in my life…

It’s just been a horrible week. I wish I could cram it all up and throw it in the trash can of eternity and just start writing a new story. But gotta stick with the story until tomorrow.

But not everything has been bad, school has been going great. But now I’m behind in grades. It’s too hard. Basketball is coming up, so. I don’t even know what to do anymore. I just wish I wasn’t outside. I wish I didn’t make all of these decisions.

I literally was balling out in tears because I thought I was about to have to go to the police station. And get taken away for 30 days, missing out on all my friends, my mentor, my teachers, school. I know a lot of people don’t like school but my opinion is school is the only place you can really be during the week, so you should use that time wisely.

I wish I was at my friends but my mom told me if I’m not here when she gets back there will be consequences. So, I’m hoping nothing bad happens. But I’m still going to stay on until my mom gets back. But guys…this is a very serious moment. I’m not even going to ask for likes and subscribes. I just want you guys to wish me good luck because the future could hold bad things for me. And I don’t want to find out what that can mean. That could mean me not going to Washington DC for my field trip. Which by the way, I was going to vlog that whole trip, so if you wanna have that happen…nah, I’m not gonna do it, I’m not gonna do it. I’ll do it at a later date but. I’m just so sad. Christmas is coming up and I’m trying to earn myself an Xbox 1, so I can play Fortnite with my friend James. You remember James, from that basketball video. Yeah.

*long pause and sigh*

You’re not going to see a lot of gameplay of games anymore. I saw those weren’t doing very good, so I stopped. But if you do want me to play a mobile game that you think would be fun to watch, leave a comment down below what you want because I’ll do it.

My mom is calling me, see you guys. Sorry. Bye."

His SM account is without a doubt unbelievable for his age. The post on Feb 18, 2019 "Playing Xbox With A Friend" was streamed live. He moves the camera angle in hour 5 when his mom comes home.

There are 2 people in the chat. He is taking to someone named James and he notices they are not alone. But before he realizes someone else is in the chat, he moons the camera.

This is a 7 plus hour long video. You can hear some interaction between him and his mom after hour 5. He is definitely literally over exposing himself on live SM.

When I originally saw this post, it had less than 20 views. It has now grown to over 245.

With all the media coverage on this kid and all the posts about his SM, if he didn't have a stalker before all this publicity on this case, when he does come back he is going to be further exposed and at risk.

I hope LE has a game plan for this kid and family to protect him. Maybe they should go ahead and take down his videos since he is being blasted on every SM site now. JMO

Harley states in one of his YouTube videos that he’s banned from the library for life. He doesn’t say why but explains he cant do Roblox anymore because of it. I believe it was titled “Bad News” (though I watched quite a few) On the older channel.

by Anonymousreply 8January 2, 2020 10:01 AM

[quote]In another video, Harley talks about how he was charged with menacing for setting up a schoolmate into a fight for which he planned to sell tickets so others could watch the other boy get beat up. Harley has been missing since Dec. 20.

Well, good.

by Anonymousreply 9January 2, 2020 10:04 AM

And if you follow the MSM links and read her FB post from last night, she starts it out with "Just I guess it's time I get on tv and talk..." because going on tv to try to find your missing 14-year-old son is such an annoying inconvenience I guess. :(

And you can read the rest of her bizarre post. She has made it about herself from the very beginning, she is extremely manipulative and it appears to me that she manipulates and gaslights Harley into some of his "bad behavior". Sadly I have known mothers like this, that's why it's so glaringly obvious to me. Notice all of her pleas for him to come home center on HIM coming home to make HER feel better. Including coming home to lay on top of her until she feels better (the Grandfather actually said this). WTH??

Wow, this story it nuts. It sounds to me like either he ran away from home to get away from his parents or some pervert/psycho from the Internet took him away. Maybe a combination of both.

by Anonymousreply 12January 2, 2020 10:27 AM

R11 His mom is balding just like Megen who is sitting in an Austin jail, charged with kidnapping her friend, Heidi Broussard, and acting like Heidi's newborn was her own. Megen hasn't been charged with murder of Heidi, yet.

In this report about a Sober House that was proposed Harley's mother said this:

[quote]Concern is the feeling Heather Dilly expresses after learning the site of a proposed sober living house could be next door to her Fifth Street home...Dilly said she is concerned about the possibility of having drug addicts near her son, who has autism, and plans to move out by March.

HOWEVER...

Chief Hickman was asked about this at a press conference and replied “no comment”. I do not believe it to be confirmed that Harley is autistic.

by Anonymousreply 14January 2, 2020 10:39 AM

Could the parents have killed him? They sound pretty unstable and like they didn't want him around.

by Anonymousreply 30January 3, 2020 5:57 PM

Could be a friend’s parents took him in because the parents are nuts. That’s the best case scenario.

More likely is he’s dead and the mom is pretending she doesn’t know what happened.

The real odd thing is the mother said he went missing between 6am - 7am of Fri 12-20.

But she later said she never "saw" him then only talked to him. Considering he lives four blocks from school, seems kind of early for him to leave.

The last verified account anyone has of him is 7pm on Thur 12-19 when he went to a friend's home and wanted to spend the night but the friend's parents told him to go home.

So he could've been missing anytime since then.

The parents originally said, he runs away so much, the didn't think nothing of it, in fact he wasn't reported missing till around midnight on Saturday, 41 hours after the mother claimed to last "hear" him.

The police chief says he's a weirdo who bathes five times a day, needs special foods and hangs around the house too much.

by Anonymousreply 56January 8, 2020 3:41 PM

The parents seem super weird. Either they killed him or he ran away because they're abusive.

by Anonymousreply 57January 8, 2020 3:55 PM

And then in the police tv interview posted, they said that Harley would go home to take baths 4 or 5 times a day, even if he had taken off for a friend's house. He would still come home for his baths then leave again. So you would think that change in his patterns would have raised an alarm if he didn't come home at all for over 40 hours?

by Anonymousreply 63January 9, 2020 12:06 AM

This lady posted a youtube video of Harley's parents having a heated argument in the background of one of his videos.

Interesting. Now I think that his parents really did do it.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 64January 9, 2020 12:16 AM

If the parents aren't directly involved with his disappearance then they're surely the cause of it. He might have run away, got lost in the woods somewhere, and died of exposure. He might have run away and some opportunist creep saw a child walking alone and took him. He might have run away with somebody from the Internet. He might've seen no escape from his shitty home life and committed suicide as an escape. His body could have washed away in a river or something... There are any number of possibilities. But I do believe the parents are to blame. Either directly or indirectly.

I will admit that I am the perfect picture of a "lazy" parent. HOWEVER I battle migraines, my lovely parting gift from my stroke.

I had a few blood clots on my brain and a couple of them are still hanging out, but they aren't harmful since they are monitored. BUT, I know where my kids are AT ALL TIMES. I have help with my kids.

Due to my disability I not only have their father here (who works) I also have my parents (who are retired and old as hell) who help out. My mom is forever taking care of me. She says it's her job since she missed so much while she was working, either in the military or the jobs she had after that just to keep the family afloat.

My dad and my grandmother raised me, so ironically enough it's almost the same family dynamic I grew up with, EXCEPT I am present and I know where my kids are. My son wishes I wasn't a thorn in his butt, he's 18. I told him I don't care how old he is, he's FOREVER gonna be my baby boy, he's my 1st born, I was 19 when I had him and regardless of how old he is, I'm gonna check on him. He's currently still in high school and I continue to monitor him on Social Media

by Anonymousreply 70January 10, 2020 3:49 PM

About the bathing habits: if HD had OCD, that command in his head to bathe is too powerful to overcome.

As a young person, I HAD to have a bath before I went to bed. It had nothing to do with cleanliness but everything to do with ritual. I missed many sleepovers because of it. And I'd go berserk if I didn't have it because then, in my head "something would go terribly wrong."

Perhaps that was the Chief's point. They knew HD was not hiding out because his bathing rituals were so strong. Those who have never experienced the chains of OCD will never understand what it is like.

by Anonymousreply 71January 10, 2020 3:50 PM

I believe Harley was abducted or went with someone he didn't know as well as he thought he did. If not this scenario, then my thought process goes to suicide due to what appears to be depression.

I'm hoping we get answers soon, Harley has been gone too long and I don't see this as a rescue mission but a recovery

by Anonymousreply 72January 10, 2020 3:51 PM

I was really disturbed by revealing such personal information about this child. Discussing/revealing someone’s bathroom habits is over the line.

I understand they may be asking the general public to keep an eye out for a bathroom obsessed kid, but I still think it was unnecessary, and humiliating to the child. That seems to be a trend with this case.

Poor Harley

by Anonymousreply 73January 10, 2020 3:52 PM

Frau alert

by Anonymousreply 74January 10, 2020 3:54 PM

In my research into Harley Dilly, I have found a disturbing pattern in OHIO. It very well may happening in all of our states, but so far I've only been researching OHIO. (This is just a bit of what I have so far; I plan on posting more of my research over the weekend)

To give you an idea; the day HD went missing (DEC 20th) so did 4 other teen boys.

All the same race, all around the same age except one (Daylin Kitchen (11) who I believe is related to Daniel Kitchen...I'm still researching).

There are 9 other days in December that 3 or MORE teen boys went missing.

Some more information; Toledo is the 3rd LARGEST hub for human trafficking and is only an hour from the Canadian border by land. I have absolutely NO IDEA if these disappearances are related to HD or vice versa. This is just me putting out there what I see and what I've found hoping we bring these kids home and get them safe.

Ethan Banks (14 years old/white) - missing from Lebanon OHIO

Daniel Kitchen (15 years old/white) - missing from Grove City OHIO

Daylin Kitchen (11 years old/white) - missing from Columbus OHIO

Harley Dilly (14 years old/white) - missing from Port Clinton OHIO

Cameron Carey (15 years old/white) - missing from Toledo OHIO

by Anonymousreply 75January 10, 2020 3:56 PM

Omg R75, that is fucking BIZARRE.

What do you think is going on?

by Anonymousreply 76January 10, 2020 6:15 PM

Any theory that has HUMAN/SEX TRAFFICKING as its motive, without good evidence, is paranoid hysteria. It used to be Satan-worshipers when I was a kid; now it’s “sex traffickers”.

by Anonymousreply 77January 10, 2020 6:29 PM

His parents are complete TRASH.

I hope he finds justice.

by Anonymousreply 78January 10, 2020 8:37 PM

I think we’ve been invaded by the websleauth nut jobs so expect a lot of sex trafficking posts followed by personal health tales of their own lives ( I had a stroke! ) that have nothing to do with the case.

I have been reading online studies about excessive screen time and teenage suicide risks. IMO, Harley spent an excessive amount of screen time online in the extreme sense. My thoughts are that Harley had a meltdown after his phone broke and had any electronic device taken away if true.

by Anonymousreply 82January 11, 2020 7:09 PM

Given the report that Harley’s broken and handed over phone roughly coincides with his disappearance and given that his SM activity on that phone was such a huge part of who Harley is, I imagine that Harley felt incredibly wounded with the loss. So, I don’t think there had to be any illness, anxiety, or fear beyond that loss. And we still do not know what motivated the forced surrender of the device.

The forced surrender of the device and Harley’s disappearance seem to me inextricably linked. As a stranger with what little I know about Harley, I can see that. Yet, in all the appeals for Harley to return, acknowledgment of and remorse for the pain of that loss to him has not been even mentioned.

by Anonymousreply 83January 11, 2020 7:13 PM

I think whoever has him,has a spike in water usage. I hope they can get meter reads for the area. Also I think someone was grooming him online. So they could watch him in the bath. Make him believe it's no big deal. Gaining his trust, "I can make you a star". We can blow up YouTube" "Don't listen to mom, it's our little secret". Etc like these pervs do. They might have had a secret code. For meeting up, in case his phone got taken away. Maybe he broke intentionally to make it hard for mom to find what was going on

It's a mystery. What could have happened to him in such a short time?

He didn't make it to the school which was only a few blocks away so where did he go?

It was very cold outside that morning, he wasn't walking around town for hours out in that cold, and even if he was, someone else would have seen him or caught him on surveillance.

I have wondered if shortly after leaving his house if he got in someone's car, or maybe even went inside someone's house for some reason.

If so, it would likely be someone he knew or was familiar with, not someone he met online, because I imagine LE would have found a trail of communication if that were the case.

Another possibility is that he headed for school but decided to go back home for some reason, and took a route which the neighbor's surveillance did not catch him returning to his house.

This is all assuming that the 6:08am footage is actually really Harley. Such a frustrating case!

by Anonymousreply 89January 12, 2020 2:42 PM

Is he a pocket gay? If so some homosexual may have lured him.

by Anonymousreply 90January 13, 2020 1:17 PM

If this is a prank by harley to increase traffic on his youtube sites, it's working. social blade, a site that looks at a YouTube traffic numbers, shows clearly that since 12/20/19 subscriptions , as well as page views, have increased on HD 2.0. however I sure hope that the Police have some good information that makes them think Harley just ran away and basically needs to be talked home.

Reason I say that is because in a way they are showing Harley as a bit of a perp in this. I really hope that in the messages to Harley they would include phrasing like," Harley, if you are able.." , "Harley, we understand there may be danger so be careful..", not just "Harley, you need to come home" kind of phrasing.

Otherwise people may start thinking along the lines that it's just Harley and he'll come home when he decides to and also giving Harley the possibility of escaping from captors would give him an out and might get him to end it sooner.

A tough love type response might be to have youtube temporarily suspend all his sites so traffic numbers freeze. that's if Harley is pulling a prank. I don't know if he is but i doubt it. another thing I pick up from Harley is he is a bit into the drama angle, but i tend to think many of the youtube content providers are.

This case bothers me, ALOT. A kid who feels safer at school than in his own home is in need of help.

That he feels his teachers are more trustworthy and accessible than anyone else in his life is heartbreaking.

That his social media activity has stopped is hugely concerning. I have teenagers, they live through the Internet and they would rather lose an arm than voluntarily give up online access.

Teenagers are difficult, teenagers on the spectrum even more so.

Is there any word on how he would be supporting himself out there? Financially or otherwise?

by Anonymousreply 92January 13, 2020 1:57 PM

I remember seeing early on that Harleys bike was broken(just like his heart and spirit must've been), as it was reported at first that some kids had seen him on his bike at 3pm on the friday he went missing and later it was confirmed not to be Harley and reported that his bike was out if action.

I will see if you can still find the link but they have all changed so much it might be gone,so until I find it this is

Well, police were searching an empty house very near to where Harley and his family live. Apparently a hooded red parka was found inside the house and that is said to be what Harley was wearing when he went missing. All kinds of rumors were spreading on Twitter in regards to this, including that a coroner van was seen at this abandoned house as well. But so far none of them have been confirmed.

by Anonymousreply 96January 14, 2020 6:40 AM

The police were there, the fire dept was there, they busted through drywall, the cadaver dogs were there, the police originally said they did not find a body but that was when this first broke. An ambulance showed up but when to the Dilly house not the house they were investigating. A white bag which could fit a small person was brought out, but it wasn't a body bag per say.

A conference for 11am central time has been planned.

by Anonymousreply 102January 14, 2020 9:51 AM

Now, it's just a matter of, suicide or moider?

I lean toward murder, after all if they cut drywall, he didn't stuff himself in the wall.

And since the house is pretty much across the street, the cops are going to say the body must've JUST been put there, instead of admitting they stupidly didn't search the house across the street that has been vacant for two years.

A lot of covering up is going to have to be going on, this is why they won't announce anything till they get their tracks nice and covered.

by Anonymousreply 103January 14, 2020 9:53 AM

the police chief and fire officials left the scene just after 3 a.m. Tuesday, and one officer remained outside the the house into the early morning hours.

At just after 2 a.m. Tuesday, a white van was seen backing up to a side door at the vacant house, where just an hour earlier investigators cut a wall open from the inside

by Anonymousreply 104January 14, 2020 10:38 AM

It appears to be true. Right now they're just saying he "was recovered." They will confirm the details at noon.

by Anonymousreply 105January 14, 2020 12:25 PM

Did they need a search warrant or permission from somebody to search the abandoned house? How long does that normally take to get? I just can't imagine why they wouldn't search it a long time ago if they knew it was there.

by Anonymousreply 106January 14, 2020 12:52 PM

Could he have been hiding in the attic but fell and was trapped between walls? That happened to a woman in Austin. Her body wasn't discovered for a long time.

Neighborhood kids usually know the abandoned houses. We did. We thought Icabod Crane lived in one.

I hope he wasn't sexually assaulted and murdered. Very sad either way.

I think he must have died or been trapped soon after disappearing, unless the water was still running at the house. He most certainly had OCD to be taking 5 baths a day.

by Anonymousreply 107January 14, 2020 1:02 PM

His body was apparently sealed inside a wall. Reminds me of something out of an Edgar Allan Poe story.

The ownership of the house is disputed.

Some neighbors said, the owners stay in the Summer and leave over the Winter and come back in the Spring. Other neighbors have been saying it's vacant and still others say abandoned. All those things are different.

If it was known to be unoccupied, the neighborhood kids probably use it to do drugs and have sex in. Harley was a pocket gay (you can just tell) so that is what he was doing and explains a lot. Of course no one will ever admit that.

The cops will be embarrassed they didn't search earlier so they already have covered up hours now, so they can "produce" evidence that the body was put their recently.

This was undoubtedly a murder by an Internet boyfriend.

I don't necessarily see them as abusers so much as people who had intellectual struggles themselves, and our society doesn't provide much support for people in that situation.

Time will tell, though.

How does one get stuck behind a wall? I didn't realize walls had space behind them? Is this a thing?

by Anonymousreply 116January 14, 2020 1:42 PM

R111, From what I have read it is right across the street from his house. I still think the parents have something to do with it judging by what we know about them. They seem to have a really toxic relationship with him.

[quote]His family were ill-equipped to handle his autism and he wasn't equipped with the ability to process stress in a "normal" way. It's very common and makes for a difficult and combustible situation.

The only proof we have of his "autism" is his mother. And she said he was autistic and "not highly functioning." Bullshit, look at his videos, he functions very fine and isn't autistic a bit . She also claimed he was seeing a psychiatrist, another bullshit. He may have had a therapist, but a psychiatrist is an MD or DO and are extremely expensive and usually only consulted to prescribe meds. (Psychologists which are not physicians can prescribe meds in some states but not Ohio). I think the mother gets a lot confused. Plus about eight months ago she had a stroke and heart attack so that may affect her as well

I don't know how dysfunctional his life was.

He was definitely a drama queen. There is a video where his parents are arguing in the background and instead of cutting it, he goes out of his way to explain his father is being an asshole and then at the end he is like, "I better shut this off and see what's up." Like he's the big hero or something.

When he gets locked out for an hour or breaks his phone and his parents won't get him a new one and so on, he plays for sympathy. Which, considering we are now a nation of professional victims isn't unheard of, but who knows what his life was like? You only have his videos which are click bait.

by Anonymousreply 122January 14, 2020 2:05 PM

R114 Did you watch the video where Harley is gaming and you hear his parents fighting in the background? His dad is a dick. The dad was upset that the 4 yr old kid had done something. The mom isn't a prize either but I have more empathy for her than the dad.

So why didn't he turn the video off? Because he wants to show the world how "abused" he is. Every single parent of a four year old has thought that, he just said it

And again, why broadcast it? Shut or at least mute it. No, Harley was a drama queen. He's hardly the abused boy everyone is making him out to be.

Investigators have a drone up over the house in Port Clinton where they searched for Harley Dilly. They’re looking at the chimney.

Sounds like a Santa Claus thing. Maybe he thought he could hide out in the chimney.

by Anonymousreply 125January 14, 2020 2:15 PM

R125 That crossed my mind. There are a handful of cases where people die after trying to break in a house through the chimney.

I wonder if he got hung up on the flue.

Reporter states that house was searched because Police Chief saw a lock box on the home, realized it was empty and decided to search. The home is diagonally visible from HD's home. Reporter also states that he "thinks" most activity was happening on 2nd floor of home.

WEWS Scott Knoll also says police asked him not to share details of what was found. Said house has been empty for about 10 yrs. Says no one had permission to be inside house. He was last at home in mid-November.

Wasn't his coat found in a closet, though?

by Anonymousreply 129January 14, 2020 2:26 PM

The coat was right up front visible in the window.

So either he was dumped there. Or the cop found the coat, picked it up and put it on the door so it could be seen. But would they do that and potentially contaminated evidence?

The cops were insisting until after midnight there was no body, so that means they were lying or else it was undiscovered till then.

Then they blocked the view brought an ambulance and left. By 3am the sister was already blabing he's dead and the police chief still won't admit it, though they say on other sites Harley is recovered. If he was alive they'd say so.

by Anonymousreply 130January 14, 2020 2:34 PM

Maybe he got in the house through the chimney but later fell through the attic or a floor in between two walls and got stuck.

Wouldn't a search dog pick up his scent fro his house to the vacant house?

by Anonymousreply 131January 14, 2020 2:36 PM

Dogs are not reliable. A study showed they were only right about 47% of the time. This has become a big issue as the US Supreme Court has ruled dogs are reliable enough to allow searches without a warrant, when in reality, they are right less than half the time.

by Anonymousreply 132January 14, 2020 2:41 PM

[quote]He's hardly the abused boy everyone is making him out to be.

wtf, r124? His short life was hardly pleasant, and now he's dead. What the hell is wrong with you?

by Anonymousreply 133January 14, 2020 3:14 PM

R132 If I ever went missing, I would want a bloodhound to search for me over a German Shepherd.

by Anonymousreply 134January 14, 2020 3:17 PM

r134

Actually it's funny you mentioned that. Bloodhounds are the best breed at smelling but they have a peculiar trait. They lose interest very quickly. In England they have contests and quite often the bloodhound will be first on the trail, then just quit right before finding the object.

That is one of two problems with using dogs. They get bored fast. A dog uses his nose to sniff out food or weak prey. Dogs typically are well fed so this becomes a game to them. They also use their nose to sniff out sexual partners, which again, if it doesn't happen or they are desexed, they don't care and lose interest

The other hot issue is dogs love to please their owner and if they find themselves frustrated will often take a subtle cue from their handler, which can be wrong, simply to please him.

by Anonymousreply 135January 14, 2020 3:49 PM

r133

How so? His parents argued? What else? They locked him out of the house for an hour? This kid had phones, computers, was well fed, was receiving medical and psychological help if he needed it. Did you watch his videos, there is one where instead of doing his homework he is in class streaming and smirking and bragging about it.

Sounds like Harley was more than a handful. No one is happy that he is dead but just because someone dies does not turn them into an angel that is innocent.

No cause of death is firm, but it appears to be an accident.

Harley climbed down the chimney and got stuck.

by Anonymousreply 140January 14, 2020 4:03 PM

What a horrible way to die. That poor kid.

by Anonymousreply 141January 14, 2020 4:04 PM

Believing an obviously troubled teen when he says he's the victim is foolish. Tensions in the house brought on by mental, emotional or behavioral problems don't prove that the parents murdered the kid.

The transcript of his video at R6 indicates he was unable to explain a situation in a way that made sense, and honestly it sounds like he's lying. It sounds like he pitched a fit, his mom dropped him off at home like he asked her to, then he invented the whole thing about the cops and the vice principal, or perhaps was referring to a separate incident and has conflated them all together. Plus he refers to having to "stick with the story" until tomorrow, which is a little suspicious.

The press conference details:

Harley Dilly was recovered last evening at 507 Fulton St

Multiple leads were exhausted. Yesterday afternoon, a repeated canvas of the neighborhood, led investigators to the house. House has previously been checked multiple times

Windows were locked, doors secured, lockbox on rear door, no evidence of forced entry

Pursued entry into the house

Entered at 16:10 hours and searched

Harley's coat, glasses were discovered on second floor, next to brick chimney

Discovered Harley caught in chimney

Family notified and it appears to be accident

No foul play expected, autopsy being conducted this morning

Appears Harley climbed antenna tower to roof and entered chimney

Once in the chimney, glasses and jacket were pushed from the chimney through a flue into the second floor of the house

Chimney was blocked between second and first floor and trapped Harley

Chimney is 9x13 inches in size

by Anonymousreply 145January 14, 2020 4:12 PM

poor kid. Horrific.

by Anonymousreply 146January 14, 2020 4:18 PM

"positional asphyxia," a condition in which the contortion of your body prevents the normal in-and-out motions of your diaphragm. In other words: if you don't get out of that position, you're going to die from lack of oxygen. And, in a chimney, there's not enough room to get out of that position.

by Anonymousreply 147January 14, 2020 4:19 PM

So what was he doing in that house anyway? Did he normally go there or was this the first time? Did he go there to escape after a fight with his parents (or after a fight they had with each other which upset him)?

by Anonymousreply 150January 14, 2020 5:48 PM

Sounds like he was going to lead a very tortured life no matter what but his way of death is horrifying.

by Anonymousreply 151January 14, 2020 6:01 PM

He's not Santa Claus so he shouldn't be trying to get in houses through chimneys. What if someone killed him first and then put his body in there?

by Anonymousreply 152January 14, 2020 6:09 PM

So sad. I've heard several chimney death stories. Parents need to warn their kids about this like it's the new refrigerator door seal. Santa can only do it because he's magic...

Huh. Weird. The previous 22 posts didn't appear to me til after I posted r156. Sorry for the redundancy.

by Anonymousreply 157January 15, 2020 12:59 AM

What would he want to go in there for? It sounds to me like he may have gotten in a fight with his parents or something on the night he disappeared so he wanted to run away just far enough to scare them. Then he tried to get into the abandoned house across the street through the chimney since the doors and windows were locked and got himself stuck in there. That is how I imagine the scenario anyway. I may be wrong entirely.

by Anonymousreply 158January 15, 2020 1:01 AM

R158 He’s a kid. Kids find places to muck around in. An empty house is a magnet to kids. I used to play in laneways. Play in abandoned house blocks and abandoned , rusted out old cars. I would have loved an empty house to hang out in.

I can’t tell you the number of times I was approached by a creepy stranger, but being a kid, I thought I was smarter, could run faster. I didn’t dare tell my parents, because they wouldn’t have let me out the house. My freedom to do as I pleased was more important. That’s how kids think.

by Anonymousreply 159January 15, 2020 2:44 AM

Sounds to me like was held prisoner in the house and tried to escape OUT the chimney. Shedding his coat and glasses before the attempt.

But they won't investigate that. It will just be candles, teddy bears and prayers.

by Anonymousreply 160January 15, 2020 3:03 AM

The theory is he dropped his coat and glasses down to see if there was a clear way to the bottom. Both of them fell clean through. But when Harley went down he got stuck. There is one chimney but TWO fireplaces one on the first floor and one on the second floor. The second floor one is behind drywall and that is where he got stuck.

I still think he was testing if he'd be able to do it. That way if he could he could later on film himself for a YouTube video. He said in one of his vids he was hoping to get a camcorder for Christmas.

by Anonymousreply 161January 15, 2020 3:16 AM

Seems a little odd that he was reportedly OCD about his hygiene yet willingly climbed into what would likely be a filthy old chimney.

by Anonymousreply 162January 15, 2020 3:16 AM

I don't think he was in the bathroom that much to get clean. He was either using it to film videos (he did film one of himself in a bathtub) or else doing what teen boys do in the bathroom.

by Anonymousreply 163January 15, 2020 3:17 AM

I think the bathing was more to calm down than get clean. A repetition. Ritual.

by Anonymousreply 164January 15, 2020 3:44 AM

R161, That explanation makes sense. In case his parents ever happen to read this, I want to apologize for automatically assuming foul play and that the they were involved. I know that losing their child must be bad enough and then all the accusations being thrown left and right on top of that. I can't even imagine. It is just those videos and that parents have murdered their children in fits of rage so many times before. It is easy to jump to conclusions.

Now that most of the facts have come out, I have changed my mind. Harley's life may have not been the most pleasant at times, but maybe the parents just did things the only way they knew how. I am sure they loved them in their own way, they are devastated, and I wish them the best as they get through this tough time.

by Anonymousreply 165January 15, 2020 3:49 AM

I wonder if Dilly's parents will sue the owner of the house? I bet they will. Instead they should be charged with neglect and pay the owner of that house for the damaged chimney. Also they should cover the cost of the search as well, since their kid left of his own choice.

by Anonymousreply 177January 15, 2020 6:41 AM

The house was unoccupied for ten years and the owner was renovating it. So I doubt the chimney was that dirty. But then again, maybe it was.

The owner said he was last at the house in Nov 2019. Dilly went missing on Dec 20th.

I bet that kid used to climb up the antenna farm to the roof and there was an unsecured window up there. Then he'd go in and use the house.

But this time when he ditched school to go there, the owner had secured the windows on his last visit. So now Dilly was on the roof and couldn't get in, so he tried the chimney.

by Anonymousreply 182January 15, 2020 8:01 AM

Poor kid wasn’t very bright. But what was going on that he felt enough urgency to get into that house that he was willing to get onto the roof and crawl into a chimney? I guess it was the week of Christmas so maybe all the Santa imagery made it seem like a viable point of entry. Not a bright kid.

by Anonymousreply 183January 15, 2020 11:21 AM

I feel bad for him. Obviously a Napoleon complex and he wanted to be cool. Now forever he'll be known as the fool who got stuck in a chimney. Especially since this happened at Christmas, in years to come he'll be a foolish lesson people will warn their kids about.

by Anonymousreply 184January 15, 2020 2:09 PM

R183 and you, in addition to not being a bright adult, are a terrible human being.

by Anonymousreply 185January 16, 2020 3:58 AM

His parents killed him and stuffed him in that chimney. No way did he climb down it.

by Anonymousreply 186January 16, 2020 10:03 AM

I believe the child was retarded.

by Anonymousreply 187January 16, 2020 10:14 AM

R136 Thank you for finally saying what no one on this entire thread had enough heartlessness to say!

by Anonymousreply 188January 16, 2020 11:33 AM

r188

The kid was charged with organizing a fight and selling tickets so he could watch him get beat up.

He was in so much trouble with the law, he even admits the next time he was going to Juvenile Hall for 30 days. And his grandfather was a cop.

No one wanted him dead but he was no angel and by watching videos he clearly manipulated his viewers.

It's not a matter of heartlessness to tell the truth. I guess you would rather not mention things like the Holocaust. We already have enough shit covered up such as the indigenous populations causing extinctions, no one will talk about because it's not politically correct.

The bottom line is they DID do it, and this kid is not the innocent child everyone is projecting him to be.

by Anonymousreply 189January 16, 2020 12:36 PM

R189 fuck you, you moron. He was a troubled kid, and he died in a horrific way. If it somehow makes you feel good to be all high and mighty about that just after the discovery of his body, you're mentally ill.

by Anonymousreply 190January 16, 2020 12:57 PM

He’s hot!! Can’t wait till he’s 18 so I can drool all over him ❤️

by Anonymousreply 191January 16, 2020 1:16 PM

Think the value of that house went up or down after this shit? Hell no would I ever sleep in that place. That Harley Dilly ghost would show no mercy.

by Anonymousreply 192January 16, 2020 1:20 PM

How big are the chimneys in USA? A person can actually fit in a chimney?

by Anonymousreply 193January 16, 2020 1:24 PM

The kid was a troublemaker. He deserved to die. He would have gone on to a life of crime.

by Anonymousreply 194January 16, 2020 1:36 PM

The kid was missing for nearly a month and no-one thought to look in the empty house across the street?!

by Anonymousreply 195January 16, 2020 1:45 PM

I can’t imagine the stench when they found the little brat.

by Anonymousreply 196January 16, 2020 1:45 PM

R195 - I don’t think they truly “wanted” to find the little brat.

by Anonymousreply 197January 16, 2020 1:46 PM

He was a hooligan., pure and simple.

by Anonymousreply 198January 16, 2020 7:46 PM

He was a no good autistic brat

by Anonymousreply 199January 16, 2020 7:50 PM

They should have lit a fire in the fireplace and had a cremation. Easy-Peazy and almost free!!

by Anonymousreply 200January 16, 2020 7:53 PM

He was disposable......er actually, combustible 😂 🔥

by Anonymousreply 201January 16, 2020 10:35 PM

He was disposable......er actually, combustible 😂 🔥

by Anonymousreply 202January 16, 2020 10:35 PM

[quote]He was a hooligan., pure and simple.

Don't be silly, holograms can't get stuck.

by Anonymousreply 203January 17, 2020 2:50 AM

So he tried to get in the house by using the chimney? Why did he want to go in the house? He must have really wanted to go there BAD if he tried to get in through a chimney. And I know he was a kid but how could he have been THAT stupid? Did he think he'd go down the chimney the way the Grinch did? This is just so nuts.

by Anonymousreply 204January 17, 2020 2:54 AM

Of course it's nuts, it didn't happen.

The parents waited 41 hours (that we know of) to report him missing. It probably was longer. Someone; his mother, his father, his Internet boyfriend, snuffed him out and stuffed him in that chimney. I bet that kid had an online gay romance and was using that house as a rendezvous. Or his parents could get in.

Either way there has only been ONE other recorded teen death via "stuck in chimney" and that one was murder.

(Note: There have been accidental chimney deaths in adults though)

by Anonymousreply 205January 17, 2020 1:29 PM

People get stuck in chimneys coming down them.

How does one get stuck going up?

by Anonymousreply 206January 17, 2020 1:57 PM

r206

Most modern chimneys twist and/or turn and you can get your hand or head stuck very easily. Like when Julia got her head stuck in the staircase.

I agree this was a murder / stuffing.

by Anonymousreply 207January 18, 2020 9:16 AM

In this video, a chimney expert explains how Harley got stuck.

by Anonymousreply 208January 18, 2020 10:02 AM

Why would he be climbing UP a chimney?

His stuff was found in the house so he was already inside.

Somebody offed that brat.

by Anonymousreply 209January 18, 2020 4:23 PM

R209, Supposedly he dropped his stuff down the chimney first to see if it would go down as a test to see if he could. But if the video in R208 is right and the opening was 6 inches, I wonder how a heavy winter coat could have fit through a 6 inch opening without having to physically push it through. I will be very interested to find out if the autopsy shows anything.

by Anonymousreply 210January 18, 2020 4:33 PM

Oh, the autopsy report was already released I see. Never mind. I still think something is fishy about this story, though, whether they say it is an accident or not. But it seems like nothing will ever come of it. He is just a kid from a poor, white trash family who didn't appear to have many friends so it probably isn't important enough to really investigate. Seems like they just want to wash their hands of the whole thing and move on.

by Anonymousreply 211January 18, 2020 4:43 PM

Was his jacket covered with soot?

How did a jacket, dropped from above, get passed the flue?

None of this washes. He was killed and somebody stuffed him in there to hide his body.

The question is, if he was killed, why would you leave his jacket and glasses out in the open?

I doubt we'll ever know as the authorities, as mentioned above, seem to be done with this.

Very fishy.

by Anonymousreply 212January 18, 2020 6:51 PM

I live in the Cleveland area, and most of the local stations here were done with this story the day after his body was found.

Fucking tragic. He seemed to have lived such a sad life at home, and then to die the way he did.

RIP Harley.

BTW, I hate that fucking police chief. Asshole.

by Anonymousreply 213January 18, 2020 6:57 PM

Everyone is projecting that dude was sweet and innocent.

I bet the parents of those two kids he set up to have a fight weren't so convinced of this.

And his "I'm so scared" clickbait video only shows you lot were had by a 14 year old boy.

He was nowhere near as dumb or naive as you all claim and certainly not innocent.

by Anonymousreply 214January 19, 2020 10:31 AM

How would a murderer get a dead body in a chimney without a ladder? And how do you get 100 lbs of dead-weight up a ladder without anyone seeing?

There are a hundred other, better ways to hide a dead teenager.

The kid was impulsive and stupid. He put himself there.

by Anonymousreply 215January 19, 2020 11:24 AM

R215 Actual the phrase is usually 101, there are “101 Better Ways to Hide a Dead Teenager.” Perhaps, there is a new holiday serial killer who each year will dispose of someone in a Christmas themed related way?

by Anonymousreply 216January 19, 2020 12:10 PM

You don't need a ladder to go up a chimney from inside a house.

He didn't come down the chimney, he went up it.

by Anonymousreply 217January 19, 2020 1:10 PM

R217 Was it done by laying a finger aside of his nose?

by Anonymousreply 218January 19, 2020 1:13 PM

Putting a dead body up a chimney from the inside is even more difficult than dropping one down from the top. And the house doesn’t have fireplaces.

by Anonymousreply 219January 19, 2020 1:20 PM

[quote]He didn't come down the chimney, he went up it.

Wasn't he trying to get into the house?

by Anonymousreply 220January 19, 2020 1:27 PM

R220 Yes. Police think Harley climbed up the antenna on the side of the house. I imagine they have his dna on the antenna.

I wonder if he was able to yell for help and no one heard him . Or was it like that college kid who got trapped in his the mini van's trunk by the backseat folding down on him?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 221January 19, 2020 3:56 PM

If he went down the chimney and got stuck, how was his stuff (glasses and jacket) in the house?

I'm not being snarky, it just doesn't make sense.

And I agree with the above poster that the kid was trouble/troubled.

Why did it take the parents so long to report him missing?

by Anonymousreply 222January 19, 2020 8:14 PM

I could understand the glasses making their way thru the chimney - but the jacket? Wouldn’t it just get stuck?

I have very old fireplace/chimneys (150 years old) and the back to back fireplaces in the dining and living room both have an angled ledge Inside that makes the entry into the actual fireplace much smaller than the chimney (if that even makes sense). A jacket would get stuck there.

by Anonymousreply 223January 19, 2020 8:22 PM

Now that he's an angel with a nice set of wings, he'll never get stuck anywhere again.

by Anonymousreply 224January 20, 2020 1:49 PM

Even his own mother wrote a note that said basically, "It was his stupid choice, he's dead, nothing more to see."

by Anonymousreply 225January 20, 2020 2:11 PM

R225 did she really? Where did she post that? It seems pretty heartless coming from his mother.

Yikes. Her post is pretty bad.

by Anonymousreply 228January 21, 2020 1:24 AM

Why would he drop his glasses down there? They would probably break if he dropped them, and then he’d get in trouble with his parents. Plus he couldn’t see. How bad was his eyesight? If it was bad, no one would drop their glasses and hope they didn’t break. That makes no sense. And he couldn’t have taken off the glasses and coat once he was in.

If it was compression suffocation, that’s like Anton Yelchin, the Star Trek actor that was pinned by a car and couldn’t escape. He was slowly suffocated by the weight of the car. But being stuck in a compressed space must have been even worse.

I wonder if the parents knew he hid regularly in that house, didn’t want to tell anyone because they didn’t want to be liable, and then he may have been killed by the parents and they dropped him down the chimney. If he’d ever been in the house before, he’d probably know there was no fireplace on that floor.

If he did go on his own, he may have been trying to escape the cold, and thought once he was in, he could leave the door unlocked. But nobody’s going through a chimney without becoming very dirty. He couldn’t hide it.

by Anonymousreply 229January 21, 2020 1:27 AM

Same here, #222. How did his puffy winter jacket just slide down the chimney like butter? Why would he need to take his glasses off?

I think he was trying to get OUT of the house.

by Anonymousreply 230January 21, 2020 1:30 AM

There are a ton of crazies with conspiracy theories about this in Facebook groups. Nobody put this kid’s body down the chimney. That’s ridiculous. The most reasonable explanation I have read is that the kid looked down the chimney and saw light and assumed there was a fireplace there. He dropped his coat down and saw it wasn’t that far to the light and figured he could get down there and he’d have plenty of room once he reached the fireplace to crawl out. Once he actually got down there and found that there was only an opening that he would never for through, he panicked. Probably kicked the jacket out of the hole hoping someone would find it. The hole was too tight to extend his limbs to climb and he suffocated. I don’t think he was dumb enough to go headfirst, but that would have killed him even faster. I feel sorry for the poor kid- I have never seen a chimney lead to just an 8 inch diameter hole until this happened.

by Anonymousreply 231January 21, 2020 1:50 AM

[quote]r228 Yikes. Her post is pretty bad.

I think she sounds like a realist, myself.

[quote] “He isn’t a runaway, or abducted, kidnapped, or missing… he is found and dead!,” Heather continued in her post. “Today we had to go make arrangements at a funeral home for our son, our 14 year old. Who made a choice. He made the choice to climb the antenna of an abandoned home, walk across a roof, to a chimney and attempted to climb down. ... There he would of been able to view me leaving every Friday as I do running errands,” Heather continued. “The decision he made, he probably got the idea off all that ‘gaming’ he did with Fortnite. How they climb up things to go into abandoned homes to get treasures. He is gone.”

by Anonymousreply 232January 21, 2020 5:56 AM

The glasses might have fallen off his face on their own while he was looking down the chimney to see if the coat he dropped went through.

Stuck on you

Been a fool to long I guess it's time for me to come on home

Guess I'm on my way

So hard to see....

by Anonymousreply 234January 21, 2020 7:58 PM

Except, R231, there was no fireplace. And that leaves me wondering what that chimney opened up to inside the house. All I've ever seen is a little cleanout door to the chimney, located in the basement. Something isn't right here. This kid did not die by misadventure. Someone else had to be involved.

The day this boy went missing the mother was at some joint slugging down long island iced tea's (drunk's paycheck treat...like bum wine) She posted the pic of the drink and captioned, "ahhh....just what mama needed." I think that's fucked out. Almost 3 days to report the kid missing. The father went to the police station around midnight into Sunday...with a million different excuses as to why he took so long to report him missing. The kid told his mum he was feeling really sick and her response to the police was, "OH YEAH SURE GET YOUR ASS TO SCHOOL" There is the video of the boy freezing and his mother would lock him out and ignore his calls. The school called twice and she never called them back. The kids in the neighborhood, as well as the adults seem to have a lot of compassion for the boy. Someone started a gofundme account and it was pushing 20k until the information was made public it seemed the locals had a lot of compassion for the boy and tolerated his family. Now they are bullshit because $$$ has been coming in nationwide and in particular the UK. There is a lot finger pointing coming from his family ie the school should have kept calling me, the kid was trouble...blah blah blah...There was something with the family and the police prohibiting the huge search party even though he'd been gone 3 days when the news picked up the story. The kids in the school are saying he would often go the if there was 'something going down' at his house. The mother donated boxes of boy's clothes to the local church doing the search...On a personal note, anyone here have sibling troublemakers? Parent troublemakers? The kid seemed to be desperate for love and attention...and his manipulative mother would threaten to call the cops on him when he would get upset, She WOULD call the cops on him to keep him in line. A few said the police were reluctant to keep taking him from the home as dss failed to see the extreme signs of adhd and autism. Christ, i still have adhd and if that kid was locked out (like in that video) and he was on medicine...when you start to get distracted and such...it's a nightmare. Take it from a guy pushing 40 that still needs ritalin a couple of times a day. When you are 14 you're hormones are raging and he obviously didn't have support enough at home to feel safe enough to express himself that he went to the vice principal? My gosh...he was crying out for attention...so i get selling tickets to a fight. Couldn't be that crazy...my growth spurt shot up at 14. He was 4'9"! His voice didn't change. What's the deal with his sister? I don't know, I'm still suffering from Chris Watts. Computer baby. His closest saftey net was a digital line...

by Anonymousreply 239January 27, 2020 10:02 PM

If the mother donated the kids' clothes while the search was still on she knew he was dead.

Also, a jacket coming down a chimney would be soot covered and glasses don't jump up on tables by themselves.

He was dead/killed and stuffed up the chimney.

by Anonymousreply 240January 28, 2020 6:58 PM

R240. That absolutely did not happen. There was no place to stuff him up. The chimney did not end in a fireplace as you are imaging it, and as I imagined it until I saw what people were talking about. Some chimneys have only a small 8 inch diameter hole to put a vent. This was the case here. He went down the chimney expecting to come out through a fireplace- but there was only a hole.

by Anonymousreply 241January 29, 2020 6:47 AM

The family demanded the owner of the house remove the chimney, that their stupid kid climbed into.

You can bet they didn't reimburse the family for the cost of repair to the chimney for the damage the cops did

by Anonymousreply 242January 29, 2020 5:15 PM

How then did his glasses and jacket get inside the house?

And what about the clothing donations?

If he didn't get stuffed up the chimney (and I absolutely believe you about the "hole") Then what really happened?

I still think this is fishy.

by Anonymousreply 243January 29, 2020 8:25 PM
