How long do you think this thing will last? Florida's Brightline
If it's going to survive it's going to have to get a lot more passengers than this video is demonstrating.

This is just an upgrade of an existing train service (or I think they Florida sold it off to Virgin) They upgraded everything. Used to be a nice basic train service and for 5 bucks you could get back and forth between these places. Not really convenient for most people. It's far from airports, so you have to hop on a shuttle after the train.

Is this like Supertrain?

It wound close before they connect it to Orlando.

Can't figure who Branson thinks his riders will be. Apparently he wants to connect the Disney crowd with his newcruise ships which will sail from Miami. Still big bucks even with the tax breaks .

I wanted to take it. Stayed in FTL and wanted to go to Miami. Useless. Doesn’t go anywhere relevant. It should connect to the airport or the beach. Instead you take buses to get to the train. Stupid.

It is irrelevant and unnecessary. We already have a regional train authority called Tri-Rail that runs between Miami Airport to West Palm Beach. When Rick Scott became governor, he turned down $3 Billion from Obama administration for transport infrastructure - saying that it went against his “Tea Party sensibilities.” Lo and behold, we later find out that Scott has investments in this new private rail service called Brightline.
It is presently running between Miami to West Palm. Unlike most of the Tri-Rail lines, Brightline runs through the urban cores of various cities including Fort Lauderdale. We have traffic gridlock at multiple intersections when trains are coming through -especially at peak traffic times including the lunch hour. Fatalities related to the fast trains have been off the charts. Also amazing to see loads of empty or nearly empty cars on most runs while waiting for the trains to pass.
Now Branson is going to join and rebrand the service to a Virgin Trains. I think Floridians should have been told about Virgin Trains’ reputation in the UK when BritRail was broken up into regional carriers. I don’t think it has been stellar.

Did anyone else get the feeling the fellow passenger he talked to was a plant. That guy had his spiel down pat.

More important would be from Tampa to Orlando.

Tampa to Fort Lauderdale - expedite the exodus from East to West

It is more expensive and slower than driving. And you still have to uber once you arrive.
Why would anyone use it?
