GALLUP: Obama, Trump Tied As Most Admired Man
Just in from Gallup Polling:
Barack Obama and Donald Trump are tied this year as the most admired man. It is Obama’s 12th time in the top spot versus the first for Trump. Michelle Obama is the most admired woman for the second year in a row.
Each year since 1948, Gallup has asked Americans to name, in an open-ended fashion, which man and woman living anywhere in the world they admire most. This year’s results are based on a Dec. 2-15 poll.
Americans’ choice for most admired man this year is sharply divided along party lines: 41% of Democrats name Obama, while 45% of Republicans choose Trump. Relatively few Democrats choose Trump and relatively few Republicans pick Obama, while independents’ choices are divided about equally between the two men.

The fact that independents are equally split is incredibly distressing. We need them to remove Trump is 2020 -- the swing states are full of independents.
This is why we need someone they can really relate to in order to win the presidency. I'm going to have a slow motion heart attack until summer, in fear that some wokester will get the nom. Then, forget it. We are as dead as fried chicken.

It is unimaginable that independents think Trump is as admirable as Obama. One lies, cheats, steals, commits acts of treason, boasts of various illegalities he has, does and will commit, shows incredible lack of character, is unamerican in his values, is cruel, bigoted, a racist, and counts among his friends some of the worst people on the planet; the other is black.
And that's what it all comes down to.

Another fake poll to convince people Trump is popular, so no one will be suspicious when he wins in 2020. Jared hard at work on this, like he just got Netanyahu re-elected.

After Obama and Trump, no other man was mentioned by more than 2% of respondents. The remainder of the top 10 for men this year includes former President Jimmy Carter, businessman Elon Musk, philanthropist and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Pope Francis, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, California Rep. Adam Schiff, the Dalai Lama, and investor Warren Buffett. Current first lady Melania Trump finished second this year, mentioned by 5%, with former talk show host Oprah Winfrey, Clinton and teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg named by 3% of U.S. adults each. The remainder of the top 10 for women includes Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

Truth Fairy, poll after poll show the independents about fifty/fifty in terms of Trump. It bothers and confounds me as much as it does you. I'm middle aged, and the past decade has fundamentally changed how I see people, and not for the better, to put it mildly.
But we have to flush out our headgear on this if we want to get the country back on the right track, or at least on a less disastrously wrong one. We have to stop assuming that most people are smart and decent. Seriously. There are some people out there who are not smart but are decent. There are some who are not decent, but are smart. And there are some who are neither smart nor decent.
We already have the smart and decent people. We need to think about the other three groups. There is a way to sway all three of them, but we aren't going to do that by denying that those groups exist, and most people are in our cadre.
I know that sounds elitist, but look at the presidential approval polls. Trump is not at 10%. He's at 42%. Hillary was shocked that the polls were so close, remember? That's because she's in our group. Let's unchain ourselves from this and be completely pragmatic. That by the way is how Trump won in 2016. They did not assume that everyone was an asshole who would vote for fellow asshole Trump. They adopted a very pragmatic, cynical strategy. And they won.

I doubt they're tied.
This seems manufactured.
You're saying they got the EXACT SAME number of votes?
Not likely.

Trump should have a heart attack and die. Better yet, have pancreatic cancer...it's slower and more painful. Who the fuck admires him? But it must burn his ass that he's tied with Obama.

I can understand conservatives liking Trump - he cut their taxes, he's reducing regulations, blah blah blah.
But to admire him?? It's gobsmacking.

Frankly, it’s crazier that Melania Trump is the 2nd most admired woman.

I know, right? The same Republicans who thought it was the moral crime of the century that Bill Clinton received a BJ in the White House now admire a former prostitute as First Lady.
