"The Windsors" comedy on BBC

Well OP it’s not a BBC show, it’s a Channel 4 show. When season 3 was announced they said it was coming late 2019. So seeing as there’s less than a week left, I guess they missed that deadline. So maybe it will start early 2020.

I for one cannot wait. Hugh Skinner is an absolute babe. This show is absolutely hilarious. They have spoofed each member of the family perfectly.

They have been vague about the date. Pippa and Camilla for the win. I love their version of Harry and Fergie, as well. Actually just a great cast overall.

Fergie is great. When they had “Fergie’s Betsit”caption pop up on the establishing shot, I completely lost it. Anne the Ice Princess is fantastic too. Everyone is fantastic really. Having Catherine as a Gypsy is a stroke of genius.

Yeah I had forgotten about Meghan. She’s the weakest link in the show. I love when they first introduced her and Charles assumed she was just there to polish his shoes.

My guess is they had to shove some new content in and rewrite as it was coming out.

One of my favorite shows. Beatrice and Eug make me wet my pants every time they’re onscreen. The scripts are poetry they’re so funny. I tried to find out more about the writers of the show, but couldn’t find much. They have such a perfect insider voice, there’s no way they don’t know people of that world.

Where can I stream the two specials please? Netflix isn't an option.

I also love the running gag of Meghan Markle constantly referencing her character on Suits.

I agree her character was the weakest initially but they were still busy wrapping up Pippa and Harry. It seems like they'll give the actress more to "spoof" next season. I hope they do the whole thing with Meghan not closing a car door "correctly."

I’m sad they’re recasting Harry. I really enjoyed the original. Hope they get a couple more seasons out of the show. They just need some big event or scandal to give them something to launch off. Charles finally becoming King would give them an extra series or two.

I'm thrilled there's a third series---I had heard nothing---but oh no, they recast Harry? Why?? He and Bea and Eug are my favorites. Can't stand the Princess Anne characterization; she and Prince Charles are too grotesque. Most everyone else is wonderful, though. The way Wills speaks pronounces things me laugh out loud.

Even The Windsors with all its lampooning never could have imagined that Meghan would ghost her father for the wedding. In their version, Pa Markle actually does walk his little Bean down the aisle.

The actress who plays Beatrice is brilliant--she has the most insane posh enunciation ever. Last season she was dating Jeremy Corbyn (who got her to read Das Kapital and wear a Patty hearst beret), but in the season finale, she broke up with him saying, "I'm sorry, Jeremy--Marxism isn't for me." But the way she said it was more like, "Om sorry, Jehmmy--Mox-iz-yum izzun fuh meee."

One of the best shows. I was wondering if they were going to get Katy Wix back as Fergie. She is really working a lot. She left "Agatha Raisin" and I hope she wasn't going to leave this show.

Wish new tv series had more than 6 episodes per season. In the past, tv series had like 32, eg Frasier. This season should be epic.

The UK tv shows hardly ever contain more than 6-8 episodes. R45 must be thinking of American or Turkish shitshows stretching to eternity of 24-52 episodes per season.

It won't be on Netflix in the US for a while. The first episode is airing tonight at 10pm in the UK, and then a new episode every week for the next 6 weeks. After that, who knows how long until it gets on Netflix.

Seasons 1 and 2 are on putlockers . pro, so season 3 most likely will be as well.

This thread inspired me to start watching this show. I finished 5 eps in one sitting and can't wait to watch more tonight. I agree it's fantastically funny. I adore Beatrice and Eugenie. Camilla and Pippa are also top notch, although everyone in the show is great.

A brilliant first couple of eps. Bea and Eug deserve their own spin-off.

The new Harry is playing the character pretty much note for note as the old actor which I appreciate. Doesn’t make the change too jarring.

Easiest way is to watch is get a chrome extension VPN, set it to UK and set up an account and watch on the channel 4 website. That is how I’m doing it from New Zealand. No issues at all.

The funny thing is that although the show is absolutely savage in its portrayal of Beatrice and Eugenie, it still makes them oddly sympathetic. I kind of find myself rooting for Beatrice's character.

R111 I think they come across much better than Wills or Harry. At least they are shown as always striving. The guy playing Wills has the most annoying voice I have ever heard. I've heard the real William speak on camera and he doesn't sound anywhere near as annoying.

[R111} I agree, and think it's because it's shown that they are not mean-spirited or even lazy so much as naturally dense, with their free-loading ways further compounded by being surrounded by even bigger idiots and raised by clueless grifter parents.

The show is funny because it hints that if these people weren't bound together by a code of aristocracy, they'd just be another bunch of hapless bottom-feeders unable to scrape three nickles together.

I love every actor and character on this show, but Harry Enfield as Prince Charles is my particular favorite ... SO doddering, SO clueless.

Hugh Skinner's character on Fleabag is exactly like his role on The Windsors - earnest, clueless, over-emotional and queeny. You do get to see him nude though.

Beatrice is my favourite too R116. Actually, I'd say my favourite scenes always centre around the girls, Fergie ("Hullo, girls!") and Princess Anne.

I was glad to discover this show - it's so silly, but in an enjoyable way. Funnily enough, when I was a kid I remember writing some silly stories about The Royal Family in this way, so it does line up with my sense of humour somewhat. (This was back in the mid-90s where Diana was on the cover of every tabloid magazine, headings like: "Diana's SECRET ballet lessons!" which always cracked me up).

When I think of The Windsors, I always think of Fergie, "Hullo, girls!" @ R121. I love Fergie in The Windsors and I like Meghan much better in The Windsors, especially Meghan vs. Pippa. "Do talk that way, British people don't find it a'tall irritating".

This show is conpletely bonkers. Hardest working royal Anne is portrayed as some ghostly spirit for being cheap. Meanwhile, lazy Wills and Kate are part of the " Fab Four"

I wonder if they'll do a new series. What with everything that's happened in the last year (George Floyd) and now Meghan's claim of racism and suicidal ideation, it would be hard for them to get away with the same hard-hitting satire. Gary Janetti completely gave up his snarky IG posts about Meghan and Harry.

I started watching this show a couple months ago and it’s hilarious. I just saw S3 ep 3 and really captured a lot of things we are currently discussing. Camilla pushing the car when it ran out of wine fuel was reminiscent of Charles shoving the leaking pen in her hand. They particularly nailed Charles, Camila and Kate. Kate does comes off a bit robotic and they actually had an episode about it. Eugenie, Beatrice, Anne and Pippa are hysterical. What surprised me the most is that they made Meghan into the most normal, likable one. The SJW stuff is there and the word salad, but overall she’s comes off pretty well.

I think the new season already started with the Queen's funeral and that "fab four" walkabout. The BRF is always on the telly.
