"The Windsors" comedy on BBC

Does anyone know when Season Three is starting?

by Anonymousreply 132May 9, 2023 12:24 PM

Well OP it’s not a BBC show, it’s a Channel 4 show. When season 3 was announced they said it was coming late 2019. So seeing as there’s less than a week left, I guess they missed that deadline. So maybe it will start early 2020.

I for one cannot wait. Hugh Skinner is an absolute babe. This show is absolutely hilarious. They have spoofed each member of the family perfectly.

by Anonymousreply 1December 27, 2019 8:38 AM

You may be waiting some time as it's not a BBC programme.

by Anonymousreply 2December 27, 2019 8:38 AM

They have been vague about the date. Pippa and Camilla for the win. I love their version of Harry and Fergie, as well. Actually just a great cast overall.

by Anonymousreply 3December 27, 2019 8:41 AM

I know I'm waiting with bated breath. I adore this show.

by Anonymousreply 4December 27, 2019 8:53 AM

Tracey Ullman does a far better Camilla

by Anonymousreply 5December 27, 2019 8:54 AM

Sorry, thought it was BBC.

Does anyone have a link to stream the two specials? Putlockers has the two series but not the specials.

Yes, season 3 will be awesome! They have so much material to work with.

by Anonymousreply 6December 27, 2019 8:59 AM

It’s on Netflix.

Fergie is great. When they had “Fergie’s Betsit”caption pop up on the establishing shot, I completely lost it. Anne the Ice Princess is fantastic too. Everyone is fantastic really. Having Catherine as a Gypsy is a stroke of genius.

by Anonymousreply 7December 27, 2019 9:14 AM

This clip of Beatrice and Eugenie has got me staggered. I watch it several times a day.

by Anonymousreply 8December 27, 2019 2:50 PM

Hugh Skinner is gorgeous on Fleabag but also genuinely funny.

by Anonymousreply 9December 27, 2019 2:57 PM

PUPPA! Love Fergie's low growl and really hope they do a better job with Sparkle in the next series. I've rewatched the ones on Netflix like four times.

by Anonymousreply 10December 27, 2019 3:52 PM

Yeah I had forgotten about Meghan. She’s the weakest link in the show. I love when they first introduced her and Charles assumed she was just there to polish his shoes.

by Anonymousreply 11December 27, 2019 4:50 PM

My guess is they had to shove some new content in and rewrite as it was coming out.

by Anonymousreply 12December 27, 2019 5:11 PM

R7 - The "Fergie's Bedsit" caption always makes me laugh too

by Anonymousreply 13December 27, 2019 9:19 PM

One of my favorite shows. Beatrice and Eug make me wet my pants every time they’re onscreen. The scripts are poetry they’re so funny. I tried to find out more about the writers of the show, but couldn’t find much. They have such a perfect insider voice, there’s no way they don’t know people of that world.

by Anonymousreply 14December 28, 2019 3:07 AM

Where can I stream the two specials please? Netflix isn't an option.

by Anonymousreply 15December 28, 2019 3:10 AM

The funniest series from the UK in years. Hilarious and actually spot on. The wedding special was crackling fun too.

Favourite scenes -

Wills with the mums at the park

Harry with the PM of Australia

Bea and Eug with Justin Trudeau

by Anonymousreply 19December 28, 2019 4:16 AM

Love openly gay Hugh Skinner as William.

R18, "Pippa Places a Gypsy Curse On Kate" was one of my favorite bits from the series.

I also love the running gag of Meghan Markle constantly referencing her character on Suits.

I agree her character was the weakest initially but they were still busy wrapping up Pippa and Harry. It seems like they'll give the actress more to "spoof" next season. I hope they do the whole thing with Meghan not closing a car door "correctly."

[quote]When season 3 was announced they said it was coming late 2019. So seeing as there’s less than a week left, I guess they missed that deadline. So maybe it will start early 2020.

Seems like the show is in production right now. They apparently recast Harry and this one is ... at least from this photo ... very hot.

They're doing Will/Kate vs Meghan/Harry in Season 3.

by Anonymousreply 20December 28, 2019 4:48 AM

It's a shame that they recast Harry, the other guy was hilarious. Also, Ann falls for David Beckham? I cannot wait.

by Anonymousreply 21December 28, 2019 10:54 AM

Goteen Himmell!

by Anonymousreply 22December 28, 2019 10:59 AM

Is this on Channel 4 or Netflix?

by Anonymousreply 23December 28, 2019 11:04 AM

It’s on both R23.

“I’m marrying a billionaire. That’s a one with nine noughts.” oh Pippa. You’re so vulgar. It’s great.

I’m sad they’re recasting Harry. I really enjoyed the original. Hope they get a couple more seasons out of the show. They just need some big event or scandal to give them something to launch off. Charles finally becoming King would give them an extra series or two.

by Anonymousreply 24December 28, 2019 10:27 PM

The synopsis for Series 3 sounds hilarious!

by Anonymousreply 25December 28, 2019 10:28 PM

William is a hot pig.

by Anonymousreply 26December 29, 2019 1:04 AM

I'm sad to lose Richard Goulding as Harry. But having played him on the Windsors and in King Charles III, perhaps he was afraid of getting typecast.

by Anonymousreply 27December 29, 2019 1:15 AM

I'm thrilled there's a third series---I had heard nothing---but oh no, they recast Harry? Why?? He and Bea and Eug are my favorites. Can't stand the Princess Anne characterization; she and Prince Charles are too grotesque. Most everyone else is wonderful, though. The way Wills speaks pronounces things me laugh out loud.

by Anonymousreply 28December 29, 2019 1:16 AM

Even The Windsors with all its lampooning never could have imagined that Meghan would ghost her father for the wedding. In their version, Pa Markle actually does walk his little Bean down the aisle.

by Anonymousreply 29December 29, 2019 1:25 AM

I'm sad to lose Richard Goulding as Harry. But having played him on the Windsors and in King Charles III, perhaps he was afraid of getting typecast.

His face typecasts him. You're pretty limited playing anything with a face like that

Here's the Justin Trudeau episode that R19 mentioned:

In season three, Wills, Kate, Harry and Meghan are feuding. Charles has his eye on the top job and in his new role as defender of ALL faiths, conjures up the devil, Camilla continues her scheming ways and locks horns with Carol Middleton over who’s going to be the next Queen: Camilla or Kate, with Beatrice getting married, Eugenie, and Fergie worry whose going to walk her down the aisle now Andrew has ‘withdrawn from public life’, Pippa inveigles her way into Harry and Meghan’s life when she gets a job as their nanny, we see a ‘fun’ side to Princess Anne when she falls for David Beckham, and a hapless Prince Edward falls victim to Bulgarian loan-sharks.

by Anonymousreply 32January 1, 2020 4:29 AM

I can't wait, R32!

by Anonymousreply 33January 1, 2020 4:31 AM

You can torrent the specials. The second special isn't very funny. The first season's Christmas special was good.

by Anonymousreply 34January 1, 2020 4:42 AM

The actress who plays Beatrice is brilliant--she has the most insane posh enunciation ever. Last season she was dating Jeremy Corbyn (who got her to read Das Kapital and wear a Patty hearst beret), but in the season finale, she broke up with him saying, "I'm sorry, Jeremy--Marxism isn't for me." But the way she said it was more like, "Om sorry, Jehmmy--Mox-iz-yum izzun fuh meee."

by Anonymousreply 35January 1, 2020 4:59 AM

Cannot find where to torrent the specials - can you pls help?

by Anonymousreply 36January 1, 2020 6:46 AM

Do you have a VPN? You can find them on thepiratebay (thepiratebay.org).

by Anonymousreply 37January 1, 2020 6:49 AM

Thanks, R37; I don't want to download, just watch. Can't understand why Putlockers doesn't have it; they have everything else.

by Anonymousreply 38January 1, 2020 7:27 AM

Well with this latest Sussex announcement, the show runners now have at least two more seasons worth of material.

by Anonymousreply 39January 8, 2020 6:14 PM

Picture it: Harry sacking groceries at Gelson's or Whole Foods

by Anonymousreply 40January 8, 2020 6:22 PM

Are you sure they haven't gone reality?

by Anonymousreply 41January 8, 2020 7:06 PM

New season begins 25 February!

by Anonymousreply 42February 13, 2020 10:29 PM

Hurrah!

by Anonymousreply 43February 13, 2020 10:29 PM

One of the best shows. I was wondering if they were going to get Katy Wix back as Fergie. She is really working a lot. She left "Agatha Raisin" and I hope she wasn't going to leave this show.

by Anonymousreply 44February 13, 2020 10:36 PM

Wish new tv series had more than 6 episodes per season. In the past, tv series had like 32, eg Frasier. This season should be epic.

by Anonymousreply 45February 14, 2020 7:10 AM

The UK tv shows hardly ever contain more than 6-8 episodes. R45 must be thinking of American or Turkish shitshows stretching to eternity of 24-52 episodes per season.

by Anonymousreply 61February 24, 2020 11:10 PM

Is it on Netflix today?

by Anonymousreply 62February 25, 2020 6:20 PM

It won't be on Netflix in the US for a while. The first episode is airing tonight at 10pm in the UK, and then a new episode every week for the next 6 weeks. After that, who knows how long until it gets on Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 63February 25, 2020 7:49 PM

Seasons 1 and 2 are on putlockers . pro, so season 3 most likely will be as well.

by Anonymousreply 64February 25, 2020 7:55 PM

It'll probably be online somewhere in two hours.

by Anonymousreply 65February 25, 2020 8:08 PM

Channel 4 tonight at 10

by Anonymousreply 66February 25, 2020 8:16 PM

Great, the entire season will be dumped on ALL4 after the airing of the first episode!!! I can hardly wait!!!

by Anonymousreply 67February 25, 2020 10:23 PM

It's still not on The Pirate Bay. I will update when I see it.

by Anonymousreply 68February 25, 2020 10:25 PM

I’m watching it on Channel 4 now. Yaaaaas. This is so good

by Anonymousreply 69February 25, 2020 10:50 PM

"And if you know someone who's struggling, why don't you give them a banana with a validating slogan up the side? What's the worst that could happen? They'd get a free banana!"

by Anonymousreply 70February 25, 2020 10:53 PM

Omg they got Miriam margolyes to appear as Queen Victoria. This is amazing.

by Anonymousreply 71February 25, 2020 10:55 PM

This thread inspired me to start watching this show. I finished 5 eps in one sitting and can't wait to watch more tonight. I agree it's fantastically funny. I adore Beatrice and Eugenie. Camilla and Pippa are also top notch, although everyone in the show is great.

by Anonymousreply 72February 25, 2020 11:03 PM

A brilliant first couple of eps. Bea and Eug deserve their own spin-off.

I genuinely think the crazed nutters in the Markle threads have used The Windsors as their basis of reality.

by Anonymousreply 73February 25, 2020 11:03 PM

R73 - that's pretty much what I thought too re Bea and Eug and the Markle thread nutters!

by Anonymousreply 74February 25, 2020 11:05 PM

The actresses playing Bea and Eug are so amazing, they stand above the rest.

I give credit to the actress playing Markle, which is quite fitting as no-one knew the actress Markle until she joined the Windsors.

by Anonymousreply 75February 25, 2020 11:13 PM

I just downloaded All 4 so I could watch it in the US. Here are the steps I followed...it was a bit laborious and required a VPN and registering but I got there. I can't wait to watch it later!

I binged all six episodes because I couldn't wait. This is why I'm fat.

by Anonymousreply 77February 26, 2020 4:48 AM

The actor playing Wills is too good looking and has way too much hair. William is an ugly bald bully.

by Anonymousreply 78February 26, 2020 8:25 AM

I want to do nasty nasty things with Hugh Skinner (Will). He is the sexiest guy unf.

by Anonymousreply 79February 26, 2020 8:42 AM

by Anonymousreply 81February 26, 2020 2:57 PM

What! No Pippa? She's the best thing in the show and those incredible words that spew out of her mouth! Like a soaring eagle shitting wherever she wants!!!

by Anonymousreply 82February 26, 2020 3:21 PM

Love the subtle references to William’s cheating scandal and the whole Epstein / Andrew kerfuffle.

Beatrice and Eugene are as excellent as usual this season. Fergie running an HeirBnB was great too.

by Anonymousreply 83February 26, 2020 10:35 PM

Eugene “ oh no we could end up like Princess Margaret’s children... not even characters on The Crown”

How the fuck do they come up with such great witty dialogue

by Anonymousreply 84February 26, 2020 10:39 PM

I can't wait to see Fergie here as she is another favorite character: "her life is sad, while mine is tragic."

by Anonymousreply 85February 26, 2020 10:46 PM

The new Harry is playing the character pretty much note for note as the old actor which I appreciate. Doesn’t make the change too jarring.

Princess Anne going full horse over David Beckham got me roaring.

I hope they get another season.

by Anonymousreply 86February 26, 2020 10:53 PM

Someone in the other thread mentioned that you can watch the new episode on the All 4 app with a VPN. Like that person said, it's a bit complicated but it does work.

I haven't seen it on the Pirate Bay yet.

by Anonymousreply 87February 27, 2020 12:08 AM

I haven't seen the new season but my favorite part is their ridiculous accents: Popp-uh! Gyp-sah!

Also I did find the introductory Markle character a little snarkworthy--relating every single to Suits, declaring to her mom she had to embrace her feminist ideals by marrying a prince . . . Also the line where she asks Pippa if Pippa knows her from her character on Suits, and Pippa mutters, "No . . . the Mail Online."

Lol and how simpering and earnest Kate is, somehow that's hilarious to me. Oh and whenever Bea and Eug talk about jobs . . . "OMG get real jobs! How can we be expected to work 3 hours a day 2 days a week??"

by Anonymousreply 88February 27, 2020 12:19 AM

I love Camilla, she's like a Disney villain except always drunk and smoking.

by Anonymousreply 89February 27, 2020 1:46 AM

Easiest way is to watch is get a chrome extension VPN, set it to UK and set up an account and watch on the channel 4 website. That is how I’m doing it from New Zealand. No issues at all.

by Anonymousreply 90February 27, 2020 3:35 AM

Amazing - just watched the first two episodes. Thanks R90 for the instructions to view it.

by Anonymousreply 91February 27, 2020 6:23 AM

Charles: "Camilla - what are you doing here? I thought you were in Mustique, giving it the full Princess Margaret."

The actor playing Harry in the new season is very sexy.

"What the FUCK is a Princess Consort??!" --Camilla is the queen of my heart

by Anonymousreply 96March 4, 2020 4:39 PM

Fergie as Sophie's Choice was hilarious. Oh, I really wanted to see more of Pippa!

"The only thing your father is guilty of is being too honourable!"

by Anonymousreply 102March 23, 2020 4:17 PM

I do love the Prince Andrew jokes this year

by Anonymousreply 103March 23, 2020 4:29 PM

It just gets funnier. Loved Wills getting rogered by Barry the builder. Camilla's exorcism was fantastic, "I'm telling you for the last time - SLING YOUR HOOK!"

I wish each episode was longer than 24 minutes.

by Anonymousreply 104March 25, 2020 8:10 AM

Charles (paraphrasing): Hold on Camilla. Maybe he can judge my ideas on their merits. Not by the fact they were thought up by the greatest man of the 20th century!

Camilla: Hitler?

The funny thing is that although the show is absolutely savage in its portrayal of Beatrice and Eugenie, it still makes them oddly sympathetic. I kind of find myself rooting for Beatrice's character.

by Anonymousreply 111April 8, 2020 11:59 PM

R111 I think they come across much better than Wills or Harry. At least they are shown as always striving. The guy playing Wills has the most annoying voice I have ever heard. I've heard the real William speak on camera and he doesn't sound anywhere near as annoying.

by Anonymousreply 112April 9, 2020 12:34 AM

[R111} I agree, and think it's because it's shown that they are not mean-spirited or even lazy so much as naturally dense, with their free-loading ways further compounded by being surrounded by even bigger idiots and raised by clueless grifter parents.

The show is funny because it hints that if these people weren't bound together by a code of aristocracy, they'd just be another bunch of hapless bottom-feeders unable to scrape three nickles together.

by Anonymousreply 113April 9, 2020 1:55 AM

I love every actor and character on this show, but Harry Enfield as Prince Charles is my particular favorite ... SO doddering, SO clueless.

by Anonymousreply 114April 15, 2020 6:20 AM

It’s on Netflix now. I love Beatrice and Eugenie.

by Anonymousreply 115April 15, 2020 6:52 AM

That actress who plays Beatrice really is the show's stand-out performer. The girl who plays Eugenie is funny, too, but the Beatrice is so hilariously dense and so lovable.

by Anonymousreply 116April 15, 2020 6:59 AM

Hugh Skinner's character on Fleabag is exactly like his role on The Windsors - earnest, clueless, over-emotional and queeny. You do get to see him nude though.

by Anonymousreply 117April 15, 2020 7:22 AM

Hugh Skinner is such a babe. I want to marry that man.

by Anonymousreply 118April 15, 2020 11:08 PM

Could someone please provide a link to stream episode 6?

by Anonymousreply 119July 22, 2020 6:13 AM

I cannot wait for the next series! In view of the current BRF drama du jour, I was considering how true to life the characterisations on The Windsors are -

Charles - yes

Camilla - no

Wills - no

Kate - maybe

Harry - yes

Meghan - yes

Pippa and the Middletons - no

Andrew and Fergie - yes

York girls - maybe

Anne - yes

Edward - no

The next series should be amazing!

by Anonymousreply 120April 4, 2021 10:06 PM

Beatrice is my favourite too R116. Actually, I'd say my favourite scenes always centre around the girls, Fergie ("Hullo, girls!") and Princess Anne.

I was glad to discover this show - it's so silly, but in an enjoyable way. Funnily enough, when I was a kid I remember writing some silly stories about The Royal Family in this way, so it does line up with my sense of humour somewhat. (This was back in the mid-90s where Diana was on the cover of every tabloid magazine, headings like: "Diana's SECRET ballet lessons!" which always cracked me up).

by Anonymousreply 121April 4, 2021 10:13 PM

When I think of The Windsors, I always think of Fergie, "Hullo, girls!" @ R121. I love Fergie in The Windsors and I like Meghan much better in The Windsors, especially Meghan vs. Pippa. "Do talk that way, British people don't find it a'tall irritating".

Camilla performing the exorcism was pretty amazing.

by Anonymousreply 122April 4, 2021 11:43 PM

Hugh Skinner needs to shave his head if he wants to keep playing William.

by Anonymousreply 123April 5, 2021 12:12 AM

My favourite characters - Wills, Charles, the Middletons, and the York girls.

by Anonymousreply 124April 5, 2021 8:11 AM

I wish there were more short clips on YouTube just so I can get my daily fix. I hope this show gets a few more seasons.

by Anonymousreply 125April 7, 2021 4:22 AM

This show is conpletely bonkers. Hardest working royal Anne is portrayed as some ghostly spirit for being cheap. Meanwhile, lazy Wills and Kate are part of the " Fab Four"

by Anonymousreply 126April 7, 2021 5:22 AM

I wonder if they'll do a new series. What with everything that's happened in the last year (George Floyd) and now Meghan's claim of racism and suicidal ideation, it would be hard for them to get away with the same hard-hitting satire. Gary Janetti completely gave up his snarky IG posts about Meghan and Harry.

by Anonymousreply 127April 7, 2021 5:29 AM

I started watching this show a couple months ago and it’s hilarious. I just saw S3 ep 3 and really captured a lot of things we are currently discussing. Camilla pushing the car when it ran out of wine fuel was reminiscent of Charles shoving the leaking pen in her hand. They particularly nailed Charles, Camila and Kate. Kate does comes off a bit robotic and they actually had an episode about it. Eugenie, Beatrice, Anne and Pippa are hysterical. What surprised me the most is that they made Meghan into the most normal, likable one. The SJW stuff is there and the word salad, but overall she’s comes off pretty well.

by Anonymousreply 128September 17, 2022 8:27 PM

I think the new season already started with the Queen's funeral and that "fab four" walkabout. The BRF is always on the telly.

by Anonymousreply 129September 17, 2022 9:03 PM

Anywhere to see all of season 3 in one pop with all the episodes listed?
