Does Christmas music make you cry?

I am not a cryer, nor am I really religious, but there is something about certain Christmas songs that choke me up. "O Holy Night" is the main one—there are a few different versions that do ut, but Josh Groban's is the worst offender. I get emotional just hearing it play on the radio. Perhaps it's my Catholic upbringing? I don't know. It's just so beautiful.

"O Holy Night," for me, demands a great soprano.

I feel the same way, OP. O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song, and Joseph Groban's is my favorite version. And I am a lapsed Catholic.

As for secular Christmas songs, Groban's song Believe from The Polar Express chokes me up.

I guess it brings up memories of Christmases past, which were generally a very happy time in my family.

It makes me cry in pain until I turn it off.

The only one that makes me cry is, "Grandma got run over by a reindeer"...

... Poor grandma :(

Joseph Groban, r2? Josh's son?

I'm with you on "O, Holy Night" and "Silent Night." Total tearfests. I'm supposed to be over Christmas. This is the LEAST wonderful time of the year, if you're me. But those two—"Silent Night," in particular. Doesn't matter whose version.

I do have a favorite "O, Holy Night," however, Aaron Neville's version.
