Billie Eilish mother (Maggie Baird) played Dr. Taylor Baldwin on As the World Turns - Douglas Marland was writing the show and her character was an old flame of Dr. Casey Paretti and came between Casey and Lyla Montgomery. When she could break that couple, she moved on to Tom Hughes, setting up a Taylor/Tom/Hal/Margo quadrangle.
Billie Eilish father (Patrick O'Connell) played Neil Everest who was involved with an Amnesic Beth Raines and plotted with Blake Spaulding to keep Beth and Phillip apart.

R9, that was an abrupt write-out.
There was stuff to mine there and Taylor was a doctor so she could have filled out the rest of her contract doing hospital stuff. Or have been moved away from Casey and Tom to some other guy.
Doug Marland must have not wanted to continue that character.
I remember other characters doing a quick recap: Taylor left town...bang! Gone. The vets must have seen them come and go over the years.

In Taylor's last episode, Barbara is all worried about going to jail for killing James (she did, but he was alive).
Barbara tried to sell Simply Barbara to Lucinda who didn't think it was a good idea.
