Pete's "Sister Souljah" Moment: When Will It Happen

Our boy is not dumb.

He knows that Bill Clinton stopped 90s "political correctness" dead in its tracks by calling out Sister Souljah, winning over scores of moderate voters.

Pete is going to have to do the same with some WokeLeftyTwitter type. And it will likely have an even bigger payoff than it did for Clinton, because people are just so sick of them and they are so public about their nonsense.

I suspect it will happen sometimes after the South Carolina primary, when the Bernie/Warren folks are getting out of control because he seems to be running away with it.

Never heard of that before and holy shit, her quote was BAD.

Calling someone out like that can backfire spectacularly in current social media times. I'd rather he just ignored the Twitter insanity completely and continued slow and steady, putting that hard work into those early states. And recall how SNL labelled Kamala "the meme candidate" because she kept trying to manufacture a viral moment at the debates? Not a good look.

I also doubt any one person can stop the beast that is Twitter at this point. It feels like a pendulum that has swung far into one direction after Trump's win. Those extremes level themselves out eventually and we're seeing some of that now as candidates who had been trying to appease Twitter too much then dropped out.

Biden (and possibly Bloomberg) will be on his mind at that point if he does well in the first three states. So he'll have little time to think about Warren and Bernie. It's gonna be a long-ass primary, I'm afraid.

Unfortunately for Pete, no one will give him an opening.

Pete's gonna have to pull Beyonce and Jay-Z out of hat to win this thing. And hopefully not on the day before the election like Hillary

Pete is not going to seem to be running away with anything after the SC primary. And nobody on WokeLeftyTwitter is saying anything as inflammatory as "if you're going to kill somebody today, make it a white person."

It's a shame Pete is merely a mayor and can't make a dramatic return to Indiana for his "Ricky Ray Rector" moment.

It won't happen for Pete. Clinton had the charisma and suaveness to pull off that sort of comeback, Pete doesn't have that. Not to mention back then it wasn't hate speech to acknowledge the problems with extremism and violence in favor of black people. Nowadays, if a president or presidential candidate ever gave that sort of response to something like that, they'd be labeled a racist and cancelled within 24 hours.

Or praised as a hero for finally having the balls to tell the Twitter mob to sit TF down and shut TF up .

OP, I think this is the closest to his Sister Souljah moment you're going to get.

[quote]“What we were finding is that the cognitive style of Twitter and the way that sometimes conversations are stripped of their context, sliced and diced, and put through the reward system of social media doesn’t really reflect the conversations you can have with human beings when you’re in a meeting with them,” Mr. Buttigieg said Thursday.

Insightful and diplomatic, as always.
