Kevin Spacey No Longer Faces Any Sexual Assault Charges

Also nothing from his time at the Old Vic. It's safe to say he's free and clear. Should we be expecting a sequel to Let's Be Frank on Christmas Day?

Free at last.

by Anonymousreply 1December 7, 2019 2:44 AM

Good for him. And it didn't take all that long.

by Anonymousreply 2December 7, 2019 2:50 AM

Accuser died right? Same his stalker... All accidents of course.

"Good for him."

Yeah, great that a serial predator got away with it.

by Anonymousreply 5December 7, 2019 2:58 AM

He's disgraced. He's been found out. It's been made public what he is. I don't think anybody is going to want to have much to do with him. He needs to quietly go away forever. He's a goddamn sexual predator like Bill Cosby, Weinstein, Epstein.

by Anonymousreply 6December 7, 2019 3:03 AM

He’s nowhere near as bad as those other three.

by Anonymousreply 7December 7, 2019 3:31 AM

I just watched "The Billionaire Boys Club" and the way he looked at the other actors (Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton, etc.) was... lascivious. You can tell daddy likes to get rough with pretty twinks.

by Anonymousreply 8December 7, 2019 3:45 AM

The one accuser, whose mother had been a news anchor (I think in Boston) was proven to be a liar. He said he "lost his cellphone" and erased texts. So they had to drop the case. The texts would likely have revealed his own part in the "pass." "

by Anonymousreply 9December 7, 2019 3:52 AM

"He’s nowhere near as bad as those other three."

"Nowhere near as bad?" He's bad enough. He's a horror story.

by Anonymousreply 10December 7, 2019 4:03 AM

Admittedly, he could have weathered the storm much better. It was one public relations disaster after another. He could have ridden this to a successful comeback, but I don't think his ego could have handled it. In any case, it may have been his choice. I do think he wants to come back, but only if given the same opportunities as before.

by Anonymousreply 11December 7, 2019 4:59 AM

I think Kevin is the rare example of an actor who was shunned by his colleagues and not his fans.

by Anonymousreply 12December 7, 2019 5:05 AM

He's really gross.

by Anonymousreply 13December 7, 2019 5:11 AM

R8, I haven't seen that movie, but I believe you.

To me, it looked like he wanted to fuck Clark/Superman/Brandon in Superman Returns.

I thought he was supposed to be this great actor; he couldn't keep his eyes off the boys in his movies?

by Anonymousreply 14December 7, 2019 5:16 AM

Just as I said. Grown men who pretend they are victims make me sick.

by Anonymousreply 15December 7, 2019 6:43 AM

It was a complete bullshit. That guy just wanted to embarrass Spacey and get some name recognition for himself.

by Anonymousreply 16December 7, 2019 6:47 AM

If a Russian puppet who violates the US Constitution daily can be President of the United States. why should Kevin Spacey be held accountable for anything?

by Anonymousreply 17December 7, 2019 6:53 AM

It's too bad Spacey isn't being held accountable, especially considering there's chatter out there that he's made passes at boys possibly as young as eighth-graders:

Good for him. I think he has been unfairly targeted for way too long. He’s a stupendous actor and mesmerizing in performances. I don’t care what he does in his private life.

by Anonymousreply 19December 10, 2019 4:20 PM

Look at director Victor Salva. He was convicted of child porn and bad shit with a tween boy. He went to prison and went on to make Powder and the Jeepers Creepers movies. His movies are so homoerotic it makes even me clutch my pearls. If that perv got a new lease on life, I suspect Spacey will get his second chance. He just needs to stay away for a while more.

by Anonymousreply 20December 10, 2019 4:24 PM

The guy might be a slimeball, but he's hardly on par with Cosby and Weinstein. There's a lot of unfair animus and anger especially towards him, the kind of pure hatred I haven't seen directed towards anybody else wrapped up in #MeToo except for Weinstein. I think we all know why that is.

by Anonymousreply 21December 10, 2019 4:29 PM

Good for him. His greatest offense was to turn the table on straight guys. Pure homophoblc hysteria.

by Anonymousreply 22December 10, 2019 4:33 PM

Kevin Spacey supporters are Trump voters. Repulsive.

by Anonymousreply 23December 10, 2019 5:33 PM

Fuck him for being such a closeted hypocrite and coming out only as an attempt to deflect. He’d throw any of us under the bus.

by Anonymousreply 24December 10, 2019 5:36 PM

Does this mean he can sue the studio who replaced him with Christopher Plummer for wrongful termination? And if he can sue them, can he sue Netflix as well for the same thing?

by Anonymousreply 25December 10, 2019 6:19 PM

"He’s a stupendous actor and mesmerizing in performances. I don’t care what he does in his private life."

You're an ass. He's a monster. Go fuck him if you love him so much.

by Anonymousreply 26December 10, 2019 6:27 PM

That coming out was really a bad idea (on all levels).

But it was pretty obvious (like it was with Bryan Singer) that no matter if they were guilty (and they look guilty) they would go away with it.

And it was pretty obvious the most vocal accuser was lying, maybe not in everything but in his part on the events.

by Anonymousreply 27December 10, 2019 6:35 PM

Anyway, i have to say that he was way more punished than some wife beaters and others accused of harassment. Probably because he is not liked on the industry because he is a nightmare to work with

by Anonymousreply 28December 10, 2019 6:36 PM

Good, now John Lasseter is the biggest sleazeball involved with [italic]A Bug's Life[/italic].

by Anonymousreply 29December 10, 2019 6:37 PM

by Anonymousreply 30December 10, 2019 6:39 PM

"He can assaut me any day of the week. I'd rather have sex with him than with any snowflake/victim/SJW/frau supporter of DL."

Learn to spell, you poor cretin. And your desire to have sex with him makes you the most pathetic, hard up loser imaginable.

by Anonymousreply 34December 10, 2019 8:21 PM

I'm glad Christopher Plummer replaced him. Kevin Spacey would have made a horrible Captain von Trapp.
The only KS fan that I know personally is an outspoken racist, Trump-supporter as well. She's not very bright either.

I thought the right wingers were the "QAnon Pizzagate" trolls. It's hard to keep up.

by Anonymousreply 37December 10, 2019 8:53 PM

R37 Oddly enough, there's a #QAnon clown on Twitter who supports Spacey (and claims she used to work for his Trigger Street production company years ago) and writes all this nonsense about how his #MeToo downfall was all part of some elite conspiracy . She also claims Spacey's now-deceased convicted cyberstalker Linda Culkin was an MKULTRA mind-control victim sent by said conspiracy to put the fear into Spacey to keep him cowed or some such thing. It would all be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic.

People who've had the misfortune of running up against this #QAnon Spacey-supporter woman online when writing things critical of Spacey will quickly learn of her penchant for falsely accusing anti-Spacey people of stalking / harassing / attempting to hack her. I'm thinking she fancies herself a good little minion for her (former) boss, defending his supposed honor.

by Anonymousreply 38December 10, 2019 9:35 PM

DL standards seem to have reached a new low as R31 proves.

by Anonymousreply 39December 10, 2019 10:05 PM

His asshole must surely be much more relaxed about now.

by Anonymousreply 40December 10, 2019 10:50 PM

Even before all the shit hit the fan it was obvious from his interviews that he is a nasty, unpleasant dickhead. Even if he wasn't a sexual predator he'd still be repugnant.

by Anonymousreply 41December 11, 2019 1:32 AM

R37 I thought they were the right wingers were Boris. It's hard to keep up.

by Anonymousreply 42December 11, 2019 3:15 AM

Can we all agree the reason he's facing so much heat for doing something that other men in the industry do all the time and never get called out for is because he's a man doing it to another man? What he's done is super tame compared to the cases of every other straight man in the businesswho's been #MeToo-ed, yet he gets almost as much hate as Weinstein. Not even Cosby gets that much. We can't be blind and pretend like it's not because he's a powerful gay man doing it to (presumably) straight guys.

by Anonymousreply 43December 11, 2019 3:24 AM

R43 CNN actually reported on anonymous claims and kept promising bombshell evidence that never came. Of course, the fervor against Spacey was so great, that neither CNN or any of the major media outlets were held to account. Most casual observers of all political stripes either shrugged off the allegations or were totally skeptical due to the overwhelming bias the media showed. It's become apparent that the most powerful media figures needed a scapegoat, and Spacey, an actor whose career was somewhat in decline, was just one of many in the wake of the Metoo movement.

by Anonymousreply 44December 11, 2019 6:36 AM
CNN actually reported on anonymous claims and kept promising bombshell evidence that never came.

Come to think of it, it is quite disturbing how a trusted news organization can bring unsubstantiated claims to air yet more credible accusations made by those willing to go public gets suppressed.

by Anonymousreply 45December 11, 2019 6:50 AM

Kevin: Have sex with me and I'll give you the part

Dumbass) OK

Kevin: Sucker

Dumbass) I was harrassed

by Anonymousreply 46December 11, 2019 6:53 AM

I'm so glad the MeToo movement is falling apart at the seams. It's done some good (like finally getting Weinstein and Cosby taken down) but the amount of careers and lives that false accusations backed by twitter mobs have destroyed outweighs it. Look at Aziz Ansari. I hate the guy, but even you have to admit, he got his career unfairly ruined for doing nothing immoral or illegal by a bimbo looking for attention.

by Anonymousreply 47December 11, 2019 12:15 PM

I told ya ..........

And somebody called ME crazy !

by Anonymousreply 48December 11, 2019 12:30 PM

R43: I don't know. It's obvious that he was treated differently than others in the same situation but i don't know if being gay was the reason.

Originally the media was more than happy with his coming out and his half cooked apologize to Anthony Rapp, but there was a social media outrage and they rectify.

And the outrage didn't came from conservative groups, most of the people who were angry were gays, because KS linked his coming out with sexual harassment and abuse. He used being gay as a way to deflect the accusations, and all that after years and years of denying.

Other circunstance that made his demise is the fact that he is not good to work with. While other scum actors like Mel Gibson, always found some friends to defend him, that didn't happened with Spacey because he use to treat everyone behind him like shit.

And of course, this scandal 5 years ago woulb be very different, the timing was against him too

by Anonymousreply 49December 11, 2019 2:08 PM

R46: That describes more the Bryan Singer situation than the Kevin Spacey one. Unlike Singer, Kevin rarely went after actors, he generally harassed people who work in the industry but not actos, so they were powerless

by Anonymousreply 50December 11, 2019 2:11 PM

He didn't do ANYTHING to Anthony whatever by the way

by Anonymousreply 51December 11, 2019 2:14 PM

R47 - PLEASE watch Aziz Ansari’s “Master of None” on Netflix. You will change your view about him. He is BRILLIANT. This is the best show since Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. After watching “Master of None” I will be a super fan for life.

by Anonymousreply 52December 11, 2019 2:39 PM

Well- he's still dead to me. I'll never accept his invitations again. He was selfish in bed and he wouldn't pay off my student loans not matter how much I let him fuck me..

by Anonymousreply 53December 11, 2019 2:43 PM

Everyone DL doesn't like is Boris. Defend an unpopular movie or TV show? You're Boris! Point out why something a Democrat says or does is wrong? You're Boris! Point out an existential threat to gay people? You're Boris! And you're Boris! And you're Boris! And you're Boris!

R44 Yeah, the House of Cards crew members who spoke to CNN about Spacey's workplace sexual misconduct were anonymous. But that doesn't make their stories fake, it just means that as important as their stories were, it wasn't something they were willing to risk their careers over. That's too bad, because it casts doubt on those reports. But people who've worked with Spacey know he has been sexually harassing workers on his projects for decades on end and it took #MeToo to put a stop to that. I personally don't give a fig if Spacey bothers straight guys in bars, etc., but he shouldn't have been going after employees.

by Anonymousreply 55December 11, 2019 4:02 PM

Spacey no longer faces the civil case from the John Doe masseur because the accuser died before it ever got to trial.

What are the odds that Spacey actually settled that case with a pay-off, and then they just "killed off" the John Doe identity? I mean, how hard would that be to do? If nobody knows who the accuser was, can they actually know he died?

There was an article that said the masseur's lawyer had been contacted by other masseurs Spacey had harassed and they could help bolster the case. Maybe Spacey just didn't want all of that coming out, a long line of masseurs stretching back through the years.

The conspiracy theorists were having fun with his death, though, because they could compare it to Spacey's stalker's death and say that two people in Spacey's orbit have "died mysteriously."

by Anonymousreply 56December 11, 2019 4:13 PM

R56 Spacey was being accused as a serial groper so the masseur's allegations didn't even make sense. The John Travolta masseur accusations weren't credible either and I don't recall anyone taking it seriously at the time.

by Anonymousreply 57December 11, 2019 4:24 PM

R57 Why didn't it make sense? The masseur alleged Spacey groped him among other things.

by Anonymousreply 58December 11, 2019 4:28 PM

R47: Aziz Ansari's case is one of the most shameless cases of the Metoo movement. He was accused anonymously basically of not being able to read the mind of a woman who seems in the best case scenerio childish and in the worst a vindictive coward.

The magazine should be sued for what they did

by Anonymousreply 59December 11, 2019 6:03 PM

Aziz Ansari faced a lot of hatred for the #MeToo bullshit, an unfairly skewed amount. Hm, wonder why that is. The #MeToo movement clearly unfairly targets minorities (and don't bring up Cosby, black people aren't a minority in America, let's be real).

by Anonymousreply 60December 11, 2019 9:29 PM

Agree about Aziz.... except....he was a big vocal supporter of the whole MeToo movement, so it's hard to feel sorry for him when it bites him in the ass.

by Anonymousreply 61December 13, 2019 12:34 AM

Currently prowling the streets of Eastern Europe in search of fresh barely legal twink meat. Good luck with any charges of sexual assault over there!

Kevin if you’re reading this I LOVE YOU!!! I feel like we’re spirit animals. I’m only in my 30s, but if I had money, fame, and power, I’d be all over those boys too. If you ever want a wingman, hit me up!!

by Anonymousreply 65January 16, 2020 1:08 PM

Well what matters is, we'll never have to see that ugly low-talent smug fucking face smirking like a toad in any movie worth watching ever again.

by Anonymousreply 66January 16, 2020 1:18 PM

R66 - don’t bet on it. He’s an AMAZING actor and he will get indie rolls that will get Oscar nods. Look at Woody Allen’s comeback after fucking his own daughter. Trust me, anyone can be forgiven in Hollywood if there’s enough money or talent.

by Anonymousreply 67January 16, 2020 1:48 PM

It's almost impossible to successfully prosecute a sexual predator, which is where #MeToo comes into its own. Of course people should be protected against false or insubstantial accusations. On the other hand people should also be able to openly discuss their own experiences of being sexually preyed on without fear of being sued for libel or otherwise intimidated into silence.

by Anonymousreply 68January 16, 2020 1:56 PM

The moral is, if you don't want to get a reputation for being a perv, don't go around acting like one.

by Anonymousreply 69January 16, 2020 2:01 PM

Mike Tyson is a convicted rapist who went to prison, and he has a fucking cartoon! Being a rapist didn't hurt him, and he is a Trumper. Spacey will be back starting with a small art house movie needing a big name, who will work for chump change.

by Anonymousreply 70January 16, 2020 2:36 PM
Point out why something a Democrat says or does is wrong? You're Boris!

Slavery is wrong - unless it’s Democratic slavery, that’s not real slavery.

Internment of nonwhite races is wrong - except when FDR does it to you for allying with Hitler.

Homophobia is wrong - unless Democrats engage in it by calling self-hating gay men “trans women”.

Sexual harassment is wrong - unless Bill Clinton does it, then it’s not only not wrong, it’s patriotic.
