Other than a perfectly cooked Porterhouse it's one of my favorite proteins in a meal.
Why do they cost so fucking much? Has it always been this way?

They are just small chickens, You can probably get them fairly cheaply in Aldi.
Guinea Fowl tastes much better. No fucking idea where you can buy it in the US though.

Are they really that expensive? I never paid attention to the prices of them, but I've seen them for sale at discount grocery stores like Save-A-Lot, in the frozen section.

The most underwhelming thread of 2019. It just had to roll in at the last minute.

Because of the area where you're purchasing them.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 28, 2019 12:18 PM |

Go for pigeon pie. It was eaten at Thanksgiving before the late 18th c.

I meant late 1800s^

The do have them at Aldi for cheap. When I was a kid mom use to buy them with “parts missing” which made them extra affordable. I’m not sure how the poor little birds had lost their parts.

I don’t get why they’re so special; too much work for tinymeat.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 28, 2019 5:11 PM |
Love the flavor.

[15] it’s not the size of the meat, it’s how you use it.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 28, 2019 5:59 PM |
R16, but are they dark meat or white meat?

Banzai chickens.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 23, 2020 2:35 AM |
What I don't understand is why they take longer to roast than a full size chicken! But I love that little teeny tiny wishbone.
