I'm a fan of her work and have a straight male friend who also is. He once made the comment about her that she seemed like a woman of world, but still passionate. (I'm paraphrasing from a long while back). There is something in her very best work that sounds like the voice and presence of experience and kindness. If you're lonely, that beats out standard "sexy" by quite a bit.

She was and is perhaps that rarest of things in the pop arena - a straight woman whom a straight man could confide in.
